Minutemen eh..I remember you mentioning them before but I've never heard them. It's a good song, what kind of band were they?
hardcore punkish, but not the kind you would think. theyre quite good. ive been trying to whore them a bit. their bassist is a legend and dboons no slouch on the guitar. george hurley was a badass on drums. ask badmoon or i on aim for albums.

Canadian-Guy 05-26-2005 11:45 PM

So...thoughts on the Eagles touring again, anyone?

ATM 05-27-2005 12:20 AM

My sister saw them live, and said they were good. I'm not much of a fan, myself.
So...thoughts on the Eagles touring again, anyone?
I saw them in April at Nassau Collesium. They were incredible!
I never really liked Desparado until I heard them close with it- it was magical.
They also did songs from Don Henley's solo career and Walsh's time with The James Gang. That was really cool.
Minutemen eh..I remember you mentioning them before but I've never heard them. It's a good song, what kind of band were they?
Yeah, like Freud said, their officially Punk, but that isn't always correct. On their early work, they are no doubt a Punk band. Though they still hadn't used distortion, or had been anything like othe Punk bands. And on their later work (Their best work), the Punk is really only alive through the attitude and the lyrics, I guess. During that time, they were fooling around with many different genre, like Folk, Country, Metal, Polka ("Corona"), etc.

You really like the album?

I'd definitely rate it among my top five. Maybe top three.

It's a perfect album if you ask me; every song is perfect and catchy as hell, even the instrumental (Praskovia).
If you go back a few pages, you can find their best album I posted, Double Nickels On the Dime.

Yeah, well....Live Tyler's ugly!

*runs*

Walrus Gumboot 05-27-2005 08:58 AM

Are you out of school already, Badmoon?

My neighbor let me borrow these last night:
ABB- Eat A Peach
ABB- A Decade of Hits
Traveling Wilburys- Vol. 1
Willie Nelson- 16 Biggest Hits
Neil Young- Harvest

I am listening to "A Man Needs A Maid" off of harvest now, it reminds me alot of The Moody Blues' "Days Of Future Past" sound

robo2448 05-27-2005 10:01 AM

Eat A Peach and the Wilburies are awesome. I don't have any of the others though I've heard Harvest before and it's pretty good.

That's sad. Though they weren't coming to Chicago.

I'm sorry :(

thickasabrick 05-27-2005 12:49 PM

I think Liv Tyler is good looking.

I'd love to see the Eagles live. Last night on TV there was a Fleetwood Mac concert, and then it showed the making of their Rumours album, it was pretty cool.

Yea, it's sad, but at least my dad will get his money back.

And thanks for your condolences :(

lunch998 05-27-2005 01:31 PM

Yea, that sucks man.

Woodstock 05-27-2005 01:35 PM

That's JPJ's Woodstock down the drain. As long as my Allman Brothers show is still going, I'm happy.

jpj 05-27-2005 01:36 PM

With my luck Gregg Allman will die in a motorcycle crash and Steve Miller will get prostate cancer.

lunch998 05-27-2005 01:37 PM

If something happened to the Allmans, everyone here would be depressed. We're all going to see them this summer.
ZOOMA TOUR CANCELED

The producers of the ZOOMA Tour regret to announce that this summer's
Tour has been canceled. Ticket refunds for all dates will be given
through the outlets where the tickets were purchased.

The Zooma Tour was conceived to provide fans with an exceptional musical
and entertainment experience. Due to unforeseen circumstances, it has
become clear that it would not be possible to provide that experience at
the level initially envisioned. Rather than go forward with a tour that
falls short of what was conceived, everyone involved has mutually agreed
that it is best to cancel the tour altogether.

We want to thank all of the fans for their support and the tour's staff
for their dedication and hard work on this project. We look forward to
exploring new and exciting opportunities in the future.

If you purchased your tickets through Trey Anastasio or Ben Harper
ticketing pre-sales, the card you placed your order with will
automatically be refunded for ticket face value plus all other service
and shipping charges. Refunds will begin Friday May 27 and continue
until June 2nd. Once the refund is processed you will automatically
receive an email confirmation. Please note: it can take up to 2 business
days for the refund to show up on your account. If you have any
questions, please e-mail tix@musictoday.com

If you purchased your ticket(s) through TicketMaster via phone or
internet the credit card you used will be automatically refunded. If
you purchased from the venue box office or a TicketMaster outlet you
must return the ticket to the point of purchase for a refund. Face
value plus service charges will be refunded (handling and delivery
charges will not be refunded).
Huh. So someone dropped out.

Scooch 05-27-2005 03:40 PM

I was raised on Pink Floyd, I remeber making a mix tape and putting Hey You on it when I was 7 or 8, I discovered a lot of other stuff by watching my dads music dvd collection, Dire Straits, Supertramp, Zeppelin, Eagles, etc.

I have noticed a huge boom in classic rock listeners, maybe it's because the older people become the more attractive classic rock, I couldn't see going to a elementary school and seeing kids with Floyd shirts. So I just think it has to do with age.
If something happened to the Allmans, everyone here would be depressed. We're all going to see them this summer.
I am thinking of seeing them twice

Jam2Me 05-27-2005 04:30 PM

**** I had lawn seats for Zooma Tour...........wtf this sucks...I was already stocking up for it.......this ruins 15% of my summer.

MalcolmYoungRock 05-27-2005 04:53 PM

/hopes Paul isn't cancelled.

If Paul and the Allmans are cancelled, I say the CR thread incites a riot.

Illmatic 05-27-2005 04:58 PM

Wait a second, the Allmans aren't gonna tour?

MalcolmYoungRock 05-27-2005 05:25 PM
Wait a second, the Allmans aren't gonna tour?
No, we're saying if they get cancelled, it's going to be really lame.

thickasabrick 05-27-2005 05:41 PM

My dad just offered to buy me tickets to The Doors of the 21st Century and Vanilla Fudge for my birthday. I accepted the offer.

robo2448 05-27-2005 07:14 PM

Good choice :thumb:

I've heard pretty good things about the doors of the 21st century. Obviously not the same, but still supposed to be pretty good.

Lucky guy.

Your birthday is the same as mine isn't it?

Woodstock 05-27-2005 08:37 PM

It'd be awesome to see Vanilla Fudge.

Badmoon 05-27-2005 09:01 PM
Well, I just downloaded the album Badmoon posted, so maybe that will brighten my day.
Well?

I'm starting to think that the only one who may like it/listen to it will be Thickasabrick. :(

clown_phobia 05-27-2005 09:02 PM

where is the link?

Badmoon 05-27-2005 09:04 PM

I actually didn't upload it as one, so *links.

It's a few pages back. Perhaps you can just search "Calexico" and find it.
