i bought genesis when it first came out, i had listened to some of their earlier material and had thought it was decent, nothing special, but when i saw the cover of genesis i immediately bought it. album was incredibly boring except for 'The Divine Falsehood', which absolutely rules.

Doom is ****ing awesome, Genesis is solid, but yeah, boring. Their new material sounds badass, and Johnny's vocals (lows) sound kind of like the dude from Aborted now.

Is JFAC's new material similar to their stuff on Genesis?

Similar style, but they're better songwriters now (growing up, what?!) so it's much less monotonous.

Genesis is the best boring death metal album ever. there's nothing to it but i love just blasting it and shutting my brain off.

I like listening to it in small spurts, but idk, I'm gonna have to go with Gallery As Suicide as the, "best boring death metal album ever."

New JFAC is boring, but it blows most death metal out of the water, honestly. Yes, it's not as good as actually engaging DM, but whatever.

As for live? lol, stfu, I've seen this band so many times, they're great performers. Damn tight.

Well obviously those are all lame bands I was just speaking on a general DM comparison with well known bands, maybe you were talking about the modern scene idk!

I was talking about death metal in general. There's definitely much more boring than good death metal. New Cannibal Corpse and JFAC, and maybe Decrepit Birth are the pinnacle of boring DM tbh.
