Can anyone but not hear any of the bass in any Metallica song at all? Apart from teh bass solos of course, lol, and the horrible shuddery sound in the background on AFJA.

?
Hit The Lights intro.

Britton 07-27-2005 04:00 PM

Hey hethamulburton my name is the first on the 1000th page!

Joe 07-27-2005 04:01 PM

On a lot of there songs you can really hear the bass. On AJFA, very seldom. But yes, Hit The Lights intro, all the bass solos (duh), and several other parts (my favorite would be right before the first solo in Four Horsemen)

I don't care. :thumb:
That's cool I guess, but i could go back and add an edit long enough to make me first, but I won't.

Wait, nevermind I know what you mean now.

The_dude 07-27-2005 04:04 PM

bass is disguised in a lot of songs not only metallica but rock and metal songs and if u take the bass out it sounds pretty bad

Britton 07-27-2005 04:04 PM

Yea I was Just thinking that

vashts80 07-27-2005 08:15 PM

I can hear the bass in all the Metallica songs (except on AJFA, of course), but I play bass so I have an ear for it, I guess.

i don't know if you noticed this, but in the all metallica station, ajfa songs seem to be a little bit remastered, the other day i was listening to and justice for all(the song) and i heard clearly some basslines, it's not the same that in the album.

fatbandit 07-28-2005 04:31 AM

The AJFA mp3s I have have added bass in them. The radio station may have the same downloaded ones. Won't that station just go through the entire Metallica catalogue a couple of times a day?

I'd imagine it to be boring.

Schecterguitarist 07-28-2005 09:08 AM

I like the AJFA album a lot especially becuz of To Live is to Die and One but the thing is is that the drums just sound horrid in my opinion. If u listened to blackened, after the intro the drums first come in hitting the snares and it sounds do ugly and like they are out of tune or somethin. I just find that Lars made them extremely basic with no difficulty. Some of my fellow metallica frends who play drums told me they luv to play metallica becuz most of the drumming is very basic in their old school stuff. The only tune I like in AJFA for the drums is Dyers Eve which sounds like Lars worked his *** of to write

Jev 07-28-2005 09:20 AM

Lars used studio musicians for some of his drumming, even though it was very basic he couldn't play it sometimes.

benfan 07-28-2005 10:09 AM

It might be out by the end of the year. Or something could happen like what happened during the recording of St Anger.

benfan 07-28-2005 10:23 AM

anyone got any news about it, because metallica's site is sh.it

i thought that was just a rumor

fatbandit 07-28-2005 11:38 AM

Hmm. His drumming on AJFA (and actually, for the whole band's music) was probably the most complex...

And I don't think he worked his arse off to write Dyer's Eve. Its not written well, its just fast.
