Well, on AIM it's easier for me to ignore her if she starts to ramble :p
Haha, nice thinking.
also there's nothing wrong with the "luve u hun" stuff, it's usually not done totally seriously. I dunno.
Yeah, I realize that, but it starts to get annoying when it becomes the new goodbye, or when it just pops up in the middle of a convo.

Is it me, or do the most emotional conversations take place on the phone? Whether it's happy, sad, pissed, excited, whatever. That's why I like phone convos the best, you could actually feel what the person on the other line feels. Strangely, it seems to be more sutble in person.

I like talking to my girl on the phone, because it forces us to talk, and convey our emotions through words, rather than relying on facial expressions.

Well, on the phone you are more able to let things out for some reason because you don't have to deal with the person face-to-face. That's how I always saw it, anyway.

Eh, I don't have that experience. I'd say it's more in person. I'm terrible with words though so meh.

I don't communicate well, Gaby actually mentioned the other day how I say most things are "hard to put in words" :-\ I suck at language.

Does she mean that what you say is hard to comprehend (you use a large vocabulary, ect), or the way you say things?

Illmatic 09-14-2005 11:28 PM

I prefer it face to face because I think the body language and facial expressions are a very important part of communicating with someone. I dunno.
I prefer it face to face because I think the body language and facial expressions are a very important part of communicating with someone. I dunno.
Yeah, that's true too, but it seems like you almost have to talk and you have to keep the conversation going on the phone. You know something's up when the person on the other line hesitates.

In person is definitely the best for romantic convos though, because of hugging/kissing/holding hands/whatever adds on to the conversation and the atmosphere, or at least I think :-\
Does she mean that what you say is hard to comprehend (you use a large vocabulary, ect), or the way you say things?
Oh, it's not her at all, I think I explain things poorly. I don't have the mastery of language I need to explain the things I'm passionate about in the detail they deserve, and that bothers me. I hate explaining something and not feeling like someone gets it.
I prefer it face to face because I think the body language and facial expressions are a very important part of communicating with someone. I dunno.
Yeah, I'm big on body movement when I talk I think. Most other people probably don't think so, but I am. And facial expressions are necessary when talking to me, otherwise a lot of what I say is misinterpreted. It's why I use so many smileys :-\

Illmatic 09-14-2005 11:52 PM

I hate it when I can't sleep, so I end up overthinking on things, and then I get all self-loathy and insecure about the dumbest things :-\

Permanent Solution 09-14-2005 11:55 PM

Solution: Do something that requires all your thought, like playing an instrument, or writing, or something like that. You gotta distract yourself.

Permanent Solution 09-15-2005 12:45 AM
Haha funnay. Because you really do do that.
I know! I was being serious :( (serious internet haha)

I use them because you have to get my facial expressions to see how I mean what I say because it's often times too ambiguous to get it as is :-\

Morning all...
I had band practice for 3 and a half hours last night... my back and throat hurt a little, but it went pretty well and we learned three new covers. so the setlist will finally be...

dum dum dum...

The trooper
Burning times
For whom the bell tolls (for the guitarist's benefit.)
Seek and destroy
Hallowed be thy name
Dig up her bones
Stripped, raped and strangled
The Abyss(original)
Gunslinger(original)
Another undecided iced earth cover.

I have a friend who's grandma gave it to him (the guitar, not sex), and he already has like 5 guitars and he knew I needed a new guitar so he gave that to me.

And, to top it all off, my friend had a band a few months ago, but it fell apart when the singer moved. Now he is coming back to Maryland and they are going to reunite but with me as the second guitarist!

Sweet :)

Dude, if there are any hardcore dancers at our show tomorrow (because we are playing with a metalcore band) during our set, I'm gonna go balistic.

"THERE IS NO FRICKIN' BREAKDOWN IN THIS SONG!"

Arucard 09-15-2005 08:14 AM

7,000 post is dedicated to how much i hate hardcore dancing kids. In all of our music there is ONE breakdown. Thats in a 10 song set, and as soon as they get a whif of it BAM! Hardcore pit. It happened at our first gig on Saturday, i got really angry.

I'm considering taking it out.

Shred Danson 09-15-2005 08:17 AM

Wow, 7,000 posts congrats.

Back to the topic...I don't even see how some kids could dance to thrash...the last show we played, I wasn't paying attention, but my brother said he saw hardcore dancers. It's like "come on! There isn't an ounce of "core" in our music! We all get drunk and high and eat red meat! Don't dance to our music!".

Arucard 09-15-2005 08:20 AM

You eat that red meat beotch!

Hells Bells 09-15-2005 08:24 AM

Dance? To thrash?
I thought I read that wrong the first time I saw your post...

Trivium's one of the bands that are gonna be playing with bodom in November. I haven't seen...umm....'hardcore dancers' before, and I'm hoping there won't be anything like that at this show.

I bet someone takes that seriously aswell.

Trivium are a little meh for me, they were good at download and need to mature as a band a little before I will start listening to them on a regular basis

Cain 09-15-2005 09:36 AM

I haven't been impressed by ANY of the New Wave of American Heavy Metal to any large extent. It's all so devoid of melody and skill. The major practitioners say they're bringing guitar solos back, but they still kind of suck, even if they're faster than before. It's just the same media-happy ****, bands ripping off stuff that came before them in unoriginal ways.

The rock part of the music industry is basically built more on nostalgiac sounds than ever before, and all of the ones playing those sounds are inferior to the originals. Nothing truly groundbreaking is entering the mainstream, despite what Guitar World would have you believe. They suck the dick of every popular rock trend, and I suspect they're responsible for much of the stupidity of many fans of these types of bands.

Arucard 09-15-2005 09:47 AM

Yes, but try telling that to the metalcore fanboys. I get flamed for expressing a very valid opinion, that their simply doing nothing interesting.

Oh well.
