Is that the one on SNL? If it is, then it doesn't look like him at all. Lol.
Is that the one on SNL? If it is, then it doesn't look like him at all. Lol.
Its not from SNL, but the crowd chanting Eddie at the end sorttof leads me to have no choice but believe its him.

Its worth watching, nonetheless

PinkFreud 05-25-2005 05:02 PM

i was in a band that played grungy, bluesy type stuff. i quit because the bassist is a complete d bag. i may have to put aside our differenced for a few shows though. my friends organizing a benefit concert for the genocide in sudan.

im also in a noise band and a pop-punky type hard rock band. the firsts name is something so long that i cant even recall it all. The Michigan Avant-Garde Jazz Trio-Quartet Experience-Project Quadrant 4 Sector Alpha. theres more but thats all i can remember. the second one is called Death Clock 3...2...1. think along the lines of electric six.

Canadian-Guy 05-25-2005 05:15 PM

I think when I go to Europe after I graduate, I'm going to try to throw together a jam band.

Jam Band in Europe? Good luck :thumb:

Though there isn't that big of a Jam base there, at least from what I read.

Meh, you never know....

I plan to travel a lot when I graduate, so you never know what shady characters I may meet.
Im actually playin with a band for the first time in a while this weekend, even though our musical differences have gotten in the way before...

I was thinkin, if the musicians on this board got the same recording program, could it be possible to send samples of certain things to eachother, overdub them, and send them on for re-recording...ex, any bassist, vocalist, guitarist, drummer sent a file to eachother, played a recording of themselves over it until they got a final result of a complete song. sounds complicated for a cause that wont result in anything special, but is that a possibility? I was think of tryin it out with my long-distance bassist over some drumbeats.

And look what i got Eddie Van Halen - Eruption (Live 1994) It really doesnt look like Eddie at all...but it sure as hell sounds like him. Its a 30MB file, so be aware.
Like have a long-distance online band? Like a CR thread band? I wonder if anyone has ever done that before, that would be really funny. I'll do the harmonica track

There a couple of incredible jam band guitarists at my school. We are glad to have them. I wish we had enough to start a bluegrass band though. I have a friend who has a mandolin, one who plays fiddle and me, who plays bass. I need to keep an eye out for a banjo

I read in Relix that there are upcoming jam bands in France or something. I can't remember everything, but I think it said popularity is slowly growing. I could be wrong, though.

The could just be waiting for a really charismatic musician to hit. Like the Beatles of Jam bands

*that had better be worth the download time

eidt: yep. That was worth it :)

ATM 05-25-2005 06:27 PM

Is that the one where he is wearing the bandana? I think I have that, as well.

I saw a Yes video today, they look pretty goofy.

BludgeonySteve 05-25-2005 06:33 PM

Yes were a bunch of weird goofy guys who thought that 10 minute songs with no real structure were cool. but they were also very good musicians.

MalcolmYoungRock 05-25-2005 06:53 PM

So, who likes 2112?

lunch998 05-25-2005 07:08 PM

Awesome album.

Canadian-Guy 05-25-2005 07:20 PM

So....classic rock....*cough*

George Thorogood is good.

Canadian-Guy 05-25-2005 08:05 PM

Oh, oh, I remember I wanted to go off-topic for a second. If anyone has seen the movie O Brother Where Art Thou?, did they catch the Robert Johnson reference?

I was watching that movie for the 4905982340509320924th the other day, and I put two and two together.

Seafroggys 05-25-2005 08:13 PM

Not neccesarily classic rock related, but it is community related, so here is my first gig.

Badmoon 05-25-2005 08:56 PM

I'm thinking about posting an album for you guys tommorow. But not just any album; an album that can possibly be considered the greatest ever made. It's actually an EP, and (IMO) contains no weak points, nor flaws.

stringbreaker 05-25-2005 08:57 PM

Hah, Sounds like you had a good time an thats all that matters.
I will download music later soundclick isn't working for me right now.

What is this "album" you speak of?

Badmoon 05-25-2005 09:03 PM
What is this "album" you speak of?
One of the greatest of all time.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 05-25-2005 09:15 PM

Oh I get it now. Thanks Moon you clear everything up. :)

Badmoon 05-25-2005 09:25 PM

Everyone who normally (or occasionally) goes to the Jam Band Thread, go there now.

What an idiot.

lunch998 05-25-2005 09:38 PM

Tell us what it is, the suspense is killing me.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 05-25-2005 09:38 PM

Speaking of Jam bands, is it safe to assume that the Jam Rock trend has worn off? I still can't beleive that we almost changed the name of the thread.

*close one*

lunch998 05-25-2005 09:39 PM

I think everyone that liked them before still likes them now. Considering changing the thread name to a jam band discussion was a bad idea, everyone knows it's ok to talk about them in here anyway.

A couple of you wanted to change it to "Classic Rock & Community Thread". While there already was a Community thread.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 05-25-2005 09:43 PM

Yea, but we never talk but them anymore. I mean at one point that's almost all we talked about. Some of the regulars (including me) were annoyed by it.
A couple of you wanted to change it to "Classic Rock & Community Thread". While there already was a Community thread.
Yea I think I was on that boat for a bit.

Only for a little bit, if at all. Anyone could have easily changed the discussion by bringing up another classic rock band.

thickasabrick 05-25-2005 09:44 PM

Distant Echoes....the internet band was my idea originally. Except it was gonna be a bluegrass band because I don't know anyone else my age who plays bluegrass. I mentioned it a long while back. Still a good idea though, I'm up for it..although I have no recording type devices for my computer.

Oh ya and Badmoon, did I ever tell you how great those songs you posted a few days ago were? I don't remember if I did or not...but they were awesome songs. Thanks.

The Country Rock ones? :)

Which ones did you like (the most, or whatever). Specifics!

No Depression by Uncle Tupelo was a great song.

The Jerry Garcia one was even better than some Grateful Dead songs I've heard.

Convict Pool by Calexico was kinda depressing, but very well written.

The Harder They Come by Jimmy Cliff was great. Kinda had a cool reggae type beat.

The Late Greats by Wilco was a good one, I liked the middle part the best.

That's all I can think of.

Badmoon 05-25-2005 10:02 PM

Wonderul, I'm glad you enjoyed them. :)

You'll be getting some more Calexico tommorow.
