hethamulburton 07-27-2005 03:24 PM

I said 1- 1.2 for a reason. I'm not a math guy.

Britton 07-27-2005 03:24 PM

Yea I wanna be on the 1000!

Huber 07-27-2005 03:24 PM
i dont think anyone thats not in a big band would spend more then 2200 to 2600 on a realy good drum kit
I'm looking to do that...

If you know you're going to be playing for the rest of your life, it's important to buy the highest quality you can.

The_dude 07-27-2005 03:25 PM

i wana be the 1000th guy to honor metallica

Britton 07-27-2005 03:25 PM

true

hethamulburton 07-27-2005 03:25 PM

But what if your dream falls through.

Britton 07-27-2005 03:26 PM

He'll shoot himself

fatbandit 07-27-2005 03:26 PM

So if we're talking Lars' kit comparably, why aren't we talking Rob's comparable rig again...?

I seem to have one person telling me that its not Lars/Rob we're talking about and one that's telling me that it is? In which case, I've laid out the cases for both. And I wouldn't be surprised to hear Lars' kit comes in at a fair chunk under $6000 anyway...

My point is though, which I hope I've made clear, is that Drums are not more expensive than guitar and bass are at an intermediate stage, and past that. That was the point leading me to believe it should not have been Lars' kit or Rob's rig in question.

That's cruel.
Fatbandit, I was never comparing Rob's rig, only to Lar's kit for the price I said.

The_dude 07-27-2005 03:26 PM

ya but y would u wana play the rest of ur drum life with one or 2 drum kits rather with several so u can experience every type they hav

Huber 07-27-2005 03:27 PM
But what if your dream falls through.
What do you mean? I wont get signed and make it big? Whoever said I wanted to do that. Bands that are aspiring to do that are ruining the music business.

how much is James kit?

hethamulburton 07-27-2005 03:28 PM

It's how you make money, and I want money, I don't wanna work. I wanna be on the Underground.

Britton 07-27-2005 03:28 PM

Or Kirks?

fatbandit 07-27-2005 03:28 PM

My dream may fall through. I want to be in a band, and make it big, as I'm sure many people here do. However, its a hobby. Many people spend that much on... Fishing? Photography? Other random stuff? Its a passion, and it gives you enjoyment. Honing the perfect sound and tone, and being happy with it, and being able to make music with it. I plan to be playing bass for many many years to come, and having good equipment is only going to be a good thing :)
