3.Master of Puppets
4.Kill 'Em All
5.Metallica
6.Load
7.Re Load

random dave 12-30-2005 02:20 PM

1. Master of Puppets.
2. Ride the Lightning.
3. Kill em all.

That's always the same. But I don't really like the other albums all that much so I won't include them.

How Can you not like the Other Albums?

How Can you not like 'Sad But True', 'One', 'King Nothing' 'Enter Sandman', 'Harvester of Sorrow' I could go on for ages!

Agreed. The Black Album and Justice had some very enjoyable songs on them.

Here's how their albums (that I have) break down for me:
1. Ride the Lightning
2. Master of Puppets
3. ...And Justice For All
4. The Black Album
5. Kill Em All

random dave 12-30-2005 02:49 PM

Yes, their are individual songs I like, but in general, I don't think the albums were up to scratch.

Mr. Black 12-30-2005 02:53 PM

Hmm.

heavy metal kid 12-30-2005 03:01 PM
Yes, their are individual songs I like, but in general, I don't think the albums were up to scratch.
well Metallica and AJFA were solid albums imo.

Aw3someman 12-30-2005 03:36 PM

AJFA was prolly better than Metallica

Hourglass 12-30-2005 03:45 PM

dont really like AJFA. Metallica was great though.
MOP still best

Bazarov 12-30-2005 04:15 PM

I guess my top 5 would be
1)AJFA
2)RTL
3)MOP
4)KeA
5) S/T

PepsiMetal 12-30-2005 04:46 PM

RTL
KEA
AJFA
MoP
St. Anger

Yup, yup.

...And Justice For All
Kill Em All
The Black Album

thelittledrummerboy 12-30-2005 06:03 PM
St. Anger?
St. Anger has powerful riffs, but more cons than pro's imo.

me Top 5:

rtl
ajfa
mop
kea
Black.

Although all songs sound better live.

Bazarov 12-30-2005 06:05 PM
St. Anger?
St. Anger would be a really good, if it weren't for the bad lyrics.

mr black 12-30-2005 07:53 PM

Yeah i like a lot of the riff's in st anger, the singings just shoddy and the songs get repeditive without solo's. mine would be...

Mop
kea
ajfa
rtl
s&m

I literally don't listen to the other cd's despite owning them all.

Aw3someman 12-30-2005 08:24 PM

imo LS:BaP is better than S&M ^^

MrSigma 12-30-2005 08:27 PM

My Metallica list:

1. Master Of Puppets
2. Kill em all
3. Ride The Lightning
4. ...And Justice For All
5. Black Album
6. Load
7. Reload
8. St.Anger

PepsiMetal 12-30-2005 08:55 PM

St. Anger has really grown on me. I love most songs, especially the riffs, and little drum intros. Lyrics aren't really bad they're just not as good. Load sucks for me, reload is pretty good, and black album is great if I didn't listen to it 5 million times. St. Anger is still fresh and new for me. The drum sounds have also grown on me, so now that's not a problem. Solos would be good, but oh well. But mainly, St. Anger is heavier than load, reload and black album. :)

.:Thrasher:. 12-30-2005 11:52 PM

1. KEA
1. RTL
1. MOP
1. AJFA
1. Metallica
2.Load
2. St. Anger
2.Garage days/revisited
3.Reload

1. And Justice For All
2. Master of Puppets
3. Ride the Lightning
4. Metallica
5. S&M
6. Kill Em All

I don't count the other ones because I really only like two or three songs out of them.

Grimm 12-31-2005 12:19 AM

My list is something like this:

1.S&M
2.St.Anger
3.Reload
4.Cunning Stunts
5.Load

It usually goes by how much i've listened to them, so it'll change when i start listening to the old stuff more often. And I need Live $hit: Binge & Purge.

metalhed 12-31-2005 12:21 AM

 There's a Metallica vs Megadeth thread in the guitar forum!

ghettoeddo 12-31-2005 01:35 AM

i prefer megadeth over metallica :]
to me, metallica's "greatness" lies in their influence and mass appeal, rather than their playing ability/songwriting.

however, i'll be honest and admit it was because of kirk hammett i first wanted to pick up a guitar, as i'm sure he has influenced many of us on here. although ironically...it was the solo to "nothing else matters" played by hetfield that was the thing i wanted to learn badly. so props to 'tallica~

It's funny, 'cause I first picked guitar because of John Frusciante (of Red Hot Chili Peppers) and now I'm a massive fan of thrash.:) Still love the Chili Peppers though.

I'm the same, though it was the solos from One that I wanted to learn so badly, and I've nailed the first two, now I'm working on the third.

ghettoeddo 12-31-2005 03:09 AM

^ definitely haven't touched "one" in months.
i should get back to it. after getting eruption down, i think i can tackle the tapping bit :]

Kill 'Em All 9th? Are you insane?

You put St. Anger ahead of Kill 'Em All. How? why? where? what!

BLS_Infernus 12-31-2005 06:40 AM

I hate that old school Thrash sound on Kill 'Em all other then Seek and Destory...and why is St. Anger ahead of that? have you ever seen the rehersal DVD or Metallica play it live? it freakin' pwns. people need to get past the "OMG NO SOLOS" phase because you are missing out on a good album. sure I would love to have solo on that album but there isn't any so just face it. one thing I do like is Metallica is back in the studio and I heard from word of Lars, Hetfield,Rob and Hammett that solos are back on for the new album

Though I agree that it isn't that bad. I don't mind that it has no solos but this argument has gone on for the past few years. I have seen them play tracks from St. Anger live and James can hit a lot of the notes, it was also too repetitive and their wasn't enough changes and fills to fill in the 9 minute songs. I don't mind listening to St. Anger but I can't help feel that it was really boring.

BLS_Infernus 12-31-2005 07:17 AM

hey that you...I found to be a little entertaining and different then the normal which is a good thing. the sound has a more mature sound then Metallica's listen normally are but I liked it
