So Im Writing lyrics for the song "ocean avanue".

My band is gonna play a parody of it this wednesday, called "Nebraska Avanue"(Where the club is, and also one of the top 10 Hooker hangouts in america)

rockindrummer 04-04-2006 10:35 PM

haha damn sometimes this thread takes a turn for the worst. Quite funny, but somewhat weird.

Futuro 04-04-2006 10:39 PM

Theres a place called Nebraska avenue
Where I used to sit and lust over you
I was only 15 it wasn't right
But a fake Id kept me up all night

That is what I got so far. good?

Loyton 04-04-2006 10:47 PM

Ming-a-Ling 04-04-2006 11:07 PM

So I just got back from the Deadboy and the Elephantmen show. Great show! If anyone has a chance to see them, make sure you go. Lots of energy and lots of soul. I'm going to bed now.

I made this cool pattern in 15/16 to solo over.

UGh all notes close to each other are 16ths all notes spaced are eights. Pretty basic, But still fun.

RRL L RRL L RRL]RRL L RRL L RRL

] = end of 1 bar

I just use right foot bass, left foot hat, But it don't matter.

Drum Phil 04-05-2006 04:48 AM

Just gave the dragons a proper spin and WOW

We_Love_Lime 04-05-2006 06:36 AM

Good work.

Aaron 04-05-2006 07:18 AM

alexmonty12 04-05-2006 09:53 AM

woah, i went to a local gig last night at a pub and there was this kid playing in a metal band and his double bass was insaaaaaaaaaaane. He was like 14. That is all.

VTDS_xx 04-05-2006 09:57 AM

LIKE WHOA DUDE! ...

Yeah. So. I need some new gear bad. My double pedal is officially broken beyond repair thanks to the fat kids playing on my stuff at our last show..and my crash stands are wobbling ... and I need, not want, NEED a new set of crash/ride/hats.

Ugh. :(

so i'm starting to get frustrated with my mechanics teacher. no matter how much work we do, he's always getting mad at us because we're apparently the only ones who talk while we work. on paper, my group of 3 has done more than every other group, even those with 4 people. but occasionally we get carried away with the talking, or we'll spray one of us with a pressure washer, you know, immature fun stuff. and every time we do anything like that, he pulls us into his office, tells us that if we don't start doing some work, that he's going to kick us out of his class. so today the report card marks were due, so our group had to write down everything we've done thus far. we filled up 3 pages, and every other group was struggling to get 1 and a half. and then he got mad at us for hanging around his office so that we could hand it in, so that we wouldn't receive a 0% on our report cards. and he brings up things that happen months ago to try to prove a point that still doesn't make sense, then gets mad if we point out that it doesn't make sense.

argh.

we talked like pirates all day today, it was fun. stressing every syllable that even resembles an "r". i love doing accents.

ATTENTION

i need your guys' help. my grad write-up is due for friday. 60 words max. i don't want to be one of the kids who doesn't enter anything, but i don't want to write the whole "hey i did it. thanks tc, ah, zm, etc. remember ____? LOL" kind of thing. so i decided on song lyrics. the only bad part is, i have today and tomorrow to find some song lyrics that i could use. unfortunately, i don't have time to go through all of my music. right now i have a few that i like, but none that i really really like.

any suggestions?

Futuro 04-05-2006 03:37 PM

I just cut down a 17 inch projection crash to 14 inches  Using it as my hi hats now.

styler 04-05-2006 03:44 PM

i would put in a qoute that helped me musically. ones that always stuck with me are:

creativity is making mistakes.
art is knowing which mistakes to keep.

or.

how much should i practice everyday?
how good do you wanna be?

ill add some more or some lyrics when i think of some.

Win A Rabbit 04-05-2006 04:33 PM

well i've figured mine out. i'm keeping this one unless i find something better to replace it with. but atleast i've got something now.

from "blackbird" from the beatles. i feel so dirty quoting a beatles song, though.

poppinfresh 04-05-2006 05:06 PM

Win A Rabbit 04-05-2006 05:21 PM

NICE, dude, I love old cars.

Win A Rabbit 04-05-2006 06:09 PM

old cars are so much better than the crap they're putting out now. "ooh, this is our new model. it's aerodynamic, and it comes in shiny colors. pay tens of thousands for it, because it's gotta be good."

i just wanna sit in the firebird and listen to guns n' roses or something.

Berk 04-05-2006 06:17 PM

This forum is addictive.

So I assume anything stupid and not worth your while is addictive as well. Including heroin.
