Well....It's not hard

It was funny how they never answered the question and always twisted it

peeted 11-03-2004 12:01 PM

thats true, and it was a big assumption but as a country americans are one of the least literate and close minded 1st world nations (sorry americans on mx) there are plenty of sensible americans (48%) but i still think that if everyone in america had read that book and some republican litriture the vote would have been for a left party not a right party

Accentopus 11-03-2004 12:03 PM

I got really worried when i saw the title of this thread.

Does anyone feel like giving me their opinion on this band? They're a local band, which my mate fronts. I rather like them. Not my favourite genre or anything, but they're cool, and great live. The two songs on there are probably two of their best.

Another thing on the Rep system. I still see the dots, except for some people (like ChrisTabber). Anyone know the reason?

You're absolutely right. I, as an American, can say that the only thing that most people (that I know) voted for President Bush for was the stupid issue of abortion.

What I would like to say to those people, "What the **** is the difference between killing unborn babies and sending soldiers to their deaths for a stupid cause?" It's so god****ed inconsistent! Single issue voters piss me off and should not be allowed to vote, much less breathe all my air.

It may be because i have negative feedback for some unknown reason

Oh by the way, call me chris....that name depresses me.

See you later mate, I hope the system goes soon anyway

Accentopus 11-03-2004 01:14 PM

What were dots by the way

fatbandit 11-03-2004 01:44 PM

Sorry, calling you Chris confuses me, its my name too. No problem though - from this day forth, I decree you shall be called Chris.

And people, please look at my link I posted up there ^^

Hola amigo, no anda muy contento con el asunto Bush??? :amaze:

As far as I'm concerned, and for what I've seen, Bush won the election because he had the balls to actually defend a position, as wrong or single minded as it may be, but the fact is that he got the votes from people that think alike, whilst Kerry mainly got the votes from people that just thought Bush shoudn't be president.

The thing is that can not afford to run your campaign by just criticizing your opponent, you have to stand for something, and I'm not just talking about tax cuts or how he will manage inflation, etc., but on the big issues, those things that let you have a insight into the candidate personality, such as abortion, whether he thinks it is right to invade a country to uphold democracy, and stuff like that. That was very clear in the abortion issue, on the third debate Kerry said that he wasn't in favour of it, but that he wouldn't legislate against it!! What is that all about?? A president has to be a man with convictions, and Kerry is to in the middle as to stand for anything.

Anyway, I'm happy, I fell like I'm seeing a big whale stranded in the shore and instead of going back to the water it's just stuck in the sand, and eventually it'll die.

Que viva la revolución!! Que viva Bush aniquilador de las Americas!!!

As someone who is at this moment sitting in a lecture with one of the top electoral political scientists in the country, I learned about 3 months ago that this election was Bush's. Why is that? Well, simply by being an incumbent he gains 6% of the vote from lame people who just go with whatever the status quo is. Also, the national electorate has been becoming more conservative over the last 20 years. Elections can be accurately predicted 6 months in advance, and the posturing of the candidates has relatively little to do with it. The fact that despite the economic crash things have been slowly improving means that lots of people are heralding Bush as the economic "savior" of the country. Sad but true.

the thing about Michael Moore is not that he is a liar, but that he tends to not tell the entire truth about some things.

that said, i like Moore, but i know not to take in every single thing that he says as 100% fact.

and now that Bush is president again, i see shit in the world's future.

moxshyfter 11-03-2004 02:07 PM

Nicolas,

Tiene razon, pero lo que he dicho todavia es la verdad.

(Mi jefe no esta en el despacho hoy!) :)

If your sitting in the lecture, shouldn't you be paying attention instead of posting here? :p

jk, but the rest of your post is the exact reason why I'm getting fed up with the government here, and I believe a lot of the people here feel the same way. I honestly believe that if things don't change soon, america will probably see another revolution. Maybe it'll be for the better though?
