MAthiAS 10-09-2005 09:24 AM

I'm not either... out of personal choice that I'd rather see CoB and Bad Religion.

Lets all feel sorry for Lord Abortion.

I would kill to see them once. You are one lucky bastard.

scenesfromatheater 10-09-2005 10:37 AM

I'm seeing them in Wolverhampton, and I would have got tickets for all three england dates but I can only get to Wolves.

I hope I'll be able to see them if they come on their North America Tour in the spring.

GenuineImitation 10-09-2005 11:25 AM

How much do DT tickets normally go for?

temporary 10-09-2005 11:30 AM
How much do DT tickets normally go for?
Dunno, although I doubt they'd be too much. They're not exactly pop icons...

GenuineImitation 10-09-2005 12:02 PM
I think they were £22.50 per ticket in London, not including postage and packaging, which would probably have taken it to £25. Not a particularly good price, especially by American standards, but not all that bad either for how long their sets are and how big a band they are.
How much money is that in american currency?

nowitzki 10-09-2005 12:17 PM
How much money is that in american currency?
About $45 I think.

IvortheEngineDriver 10-09-2005 12:25 PM

I'm not a big fan of 8V...I just dont think they have the umph the rest of the CD's have...I love ToT and I love some songs on 8V (TROAE, These Walls, Panic Attack), but the rest I find lacking.

I would love to see them a lot of their early stuff, but I don't blame them for not wanting to. I know, in my band, we have been playing some of our set for over a year now and I get tired of playing it. So, you can't blame them, but when I see them I want them to play these songs especially: Metropolis Pt. 1, Lie, The Mirror, The Glass Prison, As I Am, Under a Glass Moon, Learning to Live, Burning My Soul...haha, I could go on all day...ehhh, mostly I want to hear The Glass Prison...**** YEAH!

Why do people think this? They play early material at every show.

MAthiAS 10-09-2005 12:30 PM

They play 90% new material though.

nowitzki 10-09-2005 12:35 PM
They play 90% new material though.
No they don't.

Here's a setlist from this tour (I just found it on the MP forums)

Root of all evil
Panic Attack
Another Won (I don't knwo what this is)
A Fortune in lies
Under a glass moon
Caught in a web
Peruvian Skies
Raise the knife
Home
--intermission--
The Glass Prison
This Dying Soul
Never Enough
Sacrified Sons
Octavarium
--
Spirit carries on
Pull me under/Metropolis

That's a fair amount of the set made up of pre-Rudess material.
and they change their set every night so you hear nearly any song on any given night.

MAthiAS 10-09-2005 12:38 PM

Meh, it wasn't like that at Gigantour. And honestly they've got so poor stage presence that I'd rather spend my money to see other bands that I haven't seen before.

Shadows Within 10-09-2005 12:43 PM

aw that sucks they dident play As I Am? i would have liked to have heard pull me under though....it was almsot the same setlist for me other than octavarium and pull me ander and a couple others.

Jev 10-09-2005 12:45 PM

I wanna see them play SOC :(

nowitzki 10-09-2005 12:47 PM
Meh, it wasn't like that at Gigantour. And honestly they've got so poor stage presence that I'd rather spend my money to see other bands that I haven't seen before.
I guess it was probably different on Gigantour because they had a shorter set, plus because it was a tour of metal bands they probably thought it would be best to play their more recent heavier songs, as this would probably interest more of the fans who had never heard DT before.

MAthiAS 10-09-2005 12:49 PM

True... doesn't make me any happier about it though.

scenesfromatheater 10-09-2005 01:39 PM

I don't care what they play when I see them, except Dissapear...and most of Awake and FII

Dragon_Prince 10-09-2005 01:43 PM

I hope they will play more from I&W
Learning To Live :)
And I hope they will play A Change Of Seasons

red barchetta 10-09-2005 01:47 PM

you dont like Dissapear?

Enlighten Me 10-09-2005 01:54 PM

Apparently not.

red barchetta 10-09-2005 01:56 PM

i think its one of their best songs

Lord Abortion 10-09-2005 03:55 PM

When I eventually see them on the next tour, If they don't play surrounded I will cry and cry some more.

Chu 10-09-2005 04:09 PM

A guy I know said Dream Theater were coming to Australia, got my hopes up too :upset:

I'd gladly pay upwards of $500 to see Dream Theater live too... :p

They're trying to come to Australia. Both Portnoy and Petrucci have said they are trying to come in recent interviews.

Chu 10-09-2005 06:23 PM

That's hot :D
I cannot wait.

ChuteBoxeusa 10-09-2005 06:29 PM

Then why not buy a plane ticket...

Chu 10-09-2005 06:42 PM

A plane to US costs $2000+ now afaik...

Edit: $2000 for plane ticket, accomodation, food (:p), the concert ticket, and any merchandise, would set me back quite a lot.

GenuineImitation 10-09-2005 06:45 PM
About $45 I think.
Thanks...I can afford that.

Darkness 10-09-2005 07:49 PM

If I went to a DT concert and they didn't play Space Dye-Vest (which they wouldn't..) I'd go beat the crap out of them after the show...

Dragon_Prince 10-09-2005 11:52 PM

Talkin' 'bout DT concert, I don't wanna brag or anything, but I'm going tonight 8-) ^^ :P

The only time you woudl ever, evvvvveeerrrrr hear SDV live is if they reunited with KevMo, and well that is highly unlikely.

Enlighten Me 10-10-2005 04:09 AM

Where are DT touring right now?

the2stranger 10-10-2005 04:17 AM

The Netherlands, today and tomorrow, and I'm not going dammit
