So am I. Going to make a t-shirt. I've always wanted a Specials t-shirt.
|
I can't find any spray on paint for clothing
Can anyone recommend any places? |
I'm going to make one of the Anti-Nazi stencils and spraypaint it on one of my binders in school.
|
Something like that, your best bet is probably iron-on paper, unless you have access to a profesional t-shirt printing company.
Thanks, but how do you iron-on? :( |

what should I use? I'm quite confused. |
go to michael's ask for fabric paint. the paint that comes in a solid form. its turns out much better. also, using a roller will probably be best.
|
This link isn't working for me.
 n00b. |

a roller, eh? thanks What do the majority of you stencil kids use? |
I used spray paint for my stencil. Is that going to come off?
|
I use fabric paint and a sponge brush thing. I may try using a roller though.
|
This is a good guide to making t-shirts with stencils.
a roller, eh? thanks
What do the majority of you stencil kids use?
Well, I make screenprint patches. Basically with a screen you can make more of the same stencil and have better ink distribution. If you want to invest in one, screenprinting isn't hard (if you need help you could email me). Screens are rarely more than 20$, ink is around 5-6$ for a little jar. |
I use enamel spray paint and it looks great and doesn't come off. Also it doesn't go on as thick as rollers.
|
I used spray paint for my stencil. Is that going to come off?
send it through the wash and find out. It may depend if it's white on black or if it's black on white. |

enamel, eh? It doesn't wash into your other laundry does it? EDIt: could you show some picks of your stuff? Sorry if it's a problem but I just wanna see before I go and possibly ruin a shirt. |
Will bright blue acrylic paint show up on black?
|
Will bright blue acrylic paint show up on black?
Thanks you kind sir!
|
I have yellow armpit stains on one of my white shirts and I was wondering, is there anything tougher than bleach to get rid of stains?
|
oxyclean
|
Is oxyclean available in most stores?
|
far as I know
|
Home Depot carries it.
|
Thanks, but how do you iron-on? :(
Buy iron-on paper from office max or wherever, and it will probably come wiht instructions. If not, load it into the printer (it should at least tell you which way to load it,) print it, and iron it on. It's pretty simple.
Is oxyclean available in most stores?
Wal Mart has it, but pretend I don't know that, because I'm too anarcho diy punx oi oi oi to be shopping at wal mart. |
Ive had paint seep through the cardboard, so Im just recomending the transparency paper thats all.
123 and with transparency paper you can wash off the paint and use it over and over again oh and on the subject of stencils and spray paint vs fabric paint, I find spray pant to go on way too rough, like stiff and un comfortable to wear, fabric paint however bends and folds really easily with out like cracking. I lost the original but heres one of a crass shirt I made, not the best to show off the shirt, but yeah... http://img372.imageshack.us/img372/3889/animation18ub.gif |
okay, I've decided to use fabric paint with a roller. But, I have a new problem; what kind of paper should I use? And how do you guys actually cut the things out? Is there a step-by-step guide anywhere?
|
I prefer to use thin posterboard for the stencil. I used to print out a piece of paper with the design and tape it on the posterboard and cut it out that way but now I just cut out a paper-sized piece of posterboard and print the design directly onto it. If you have a decent printer I highly suggest the latter method. To cut the stencils out I would recommend a craft knife (x-acto knife). Hope that helps.

http://img372.imageshack.us/img372/3889/animation18ub.gif
That's a pretty rad shirt.
okay, I've decided to use fabric paint with a roller. But, I have a new problem; what kind of paper should I use? And how do you guys actually cut the things out? And again, an x-acto knife is probably the best way to cut it out. |
Thanks, both of you.

Yeah, that's a ****ing great shirt if I've ever seen one. |
can you cure plastisol inks with heat gun or in the oven? I've heard it's possible but haven't found any online information about it.

nice  |
does ink from ink jet printer smudge after putting them in the washing machine? I made some patches by taping fabric onto a piece of paper and printing it out.
|
of course it will...
|
Here is the result from the Public Enemy stencil I made a while ago. I'm kind of disappointed with the way it came out. From a couple feet away it doesn't look too bad though.
