Well 87% of the precincts have reported, and the majority of the absentee ballots will most likely be military, which tend to be republican.
Military and absentee are different to my understanding, apparently Florida has several thousand absentee ballots which are primarily Democrats...don't quote me though...

My dad sends in Absentee ballots and he is military, so I dunno.

Ah, good call.

I dunno, I could be wrong, but buzz in politics was that several thousand Dem absentee ballots were still to be counted in Florida...
Good choice. How'd you go with the angels?
Haven't really done much angel research today, to be honest. I'm not sure why, but at the time there seemed to be very good reasons. My lecture today was on philosophy of religion, but it was Kant, and so there was very little on angels and such in there either.

How's your Uni day been?

Riva 11-02-2004 09:54 PM

That Metallica thread is hilarious.
I think that it's amazing that a metal band can write a punk song like Battery better than a punk band
I think that it's amazing that a brain that stupid can automatically breathe air into the body.

Alright. Did a 1200 word report an hour before it was due. Bullshitted my way through most of it. :thumb:

Then I made a informative poster for a speech I have to do today, 20 mins before presenting it. I think I passed both though. Now I just have to study for Chem, and the study will be over until the big exams in two weeks.

Last round of the classic rock poll is up! Vote!

I like your style :)

A thought just occurred to me; when I started University, I had the fleeting thought "Ah well. No more attractive teachers." Not that many of my teachers were particularly attractive anyway, but I figured, Philosophy at University; lecturers likely to be old men, stroking beards, talking about other old men who stroked their beards whilst thinking profound things. Right?

By a quirk, though, one of my lecturers, Dr Carlisle, is an absolute genius. I wouldn't place her at older than 24/25, yet she's done her degree, her Master's and her phD, at Cambridge no less, in that time. And she's not inconsiderably attractive.

I'm not complaining, just thought it funny that I was proved so horribly wrong.

Dear Pawtucket Pat,

I hate you. You are a bad man.

Seriously, that's an evil poll. I feel almost duty-bound to head Sabbathwards, but several others are calling to me too.

I can see another "How can I sleep with my teacher? thread in the pit". :p

I have all male lecturers, so I can't really relate. One of my lab technicians last semester was pretty though. I'm guessing you go to a big uni, Bartender?

Bartender 11-02-2004 10:14 PM

Yeah, I think it's one of the biggest in the country. Something like 25,000 students. The biggest philosophy department, too, though I think Cambridge is generally recognised as the best.

EDIT: actually, that might be Theology that Cambridge is recognised as best for. Then again, knowing Cambridge, it's probably both.

Permanent Solution 11-02-2004 10:15 PM

Sooo..I go to school with 55k kids :p

I am at the moment (1st gen), but things are looking shoddy, Canadian citizenship is looking mighty fine right now :(

Bartender 11-02-2004 10:39 PM

Things could be looking up come next election. I'm considering attempting to gain voting ability in America, just so I can vote Schwarzenegger when the time comes.

On a completely unrelated note, I sent an email to some online company asking if they had a copy of Sean Malone's Cortlandt, and they still haven't replied. It wad four days ago :(

Arnold can't run, he's not a native born citizen...

Bartender 11-02-2004 10:42 PM

Not right now, but there's talk of modifying that so that foreign born people who have been citizens for 20 years or more can run for public office.

Bartender 11-02-2004 11:08 PM

Alright then. Good work on that lollercoaster by the way.

Anyway, I'm going to go now. Despite thinking about staying up all night..I probably could do it, and still make it to the 9 o'clock seminar, but it'd be nice to have at least a couple of hours sleep. So I think I'll go sleep on the hard floor, so at least I'll get up slightly more quickly.

EDIT: actually, I may just go and play San Andreas until my seminar..either way I'm off.
