progressive death metal?
That's how many people define them |
Thats what i would say they are.
|
melodic death metal ive always heard. but yea, progressive would be fine too.
|
They're more progressive than melodic as far as genreing goes, but of course it's kind of ironic because the two traits are definetly NOT mutually exclusive!
|
Its Progessive Death for sure because its not really like ATG, Arch Enemy, Ammon Amarth, In Flames. Yeah sure its very melodic but not melodic in the way we classifie Melo Death Bands.
|
it's melodic in a progressive sense?
|

123 I mean, all metal is melodic. |
Prog Death Metal..
|
Opeth is Opeth, it's hard to describe, but it all ends up in the interpretations of the person. I think they are a progressive and melodic death metal band with clean vocals/acoustics
|

True but you know what I mean the melodies in metal which a distincly make it Melodic Death Metal. PS: What does 123 mean |

Thank you.

Thanks for no response, I"ll figure it out
|
???
|
progressive death metal?
If I am correct and I am probably not then that is a contradiction because all death is progressive |
Thanks for no response, I"ll figure it out
sorry buddy, i didn't even see your post. I've never been to one of their concerts, but from what i've heard, here are some regular tracks. Drapery falls Demon of the fall Deliverance Harvest Windowpane Master Apprentice That's all i know off the top of my head. Sorry i can't be of more help, but hope you enjoy the set anyway:) |
I'm gonna get the Opeth "O" tattooed on my right pec soon:cool:.
nice That's one of the few tattoos I could imagine myself getting... |
i asked b4 but i forgot to check what it means, what does pwn mean?
|
i would never get a tatoo of a band on myself. just get a bumber sticker or something.
|
i asked b4 but i forgot to check what it means, what does pwn mean?
pwned A corruption of the word "Owned." This originated in an online game called Warcraft, where a map designer misspelled "owned." When the computer beat a player, it was supposed to say, so-and-so "has been owned." Instead, it said, so-and-so "has been pwned." It basically means "to own" or to be dominated by an opponent or situation, especially by some god-like or computer-like force. "Man, I rock at my job, but I still got a bad evaluation. I was pwned." there ya go :) ----- I've been thinking about getting the 'O'tattoo too, but the money deaprtment isn't really on my side these days :(. ---- I bought my tickets for the Opeth gig on sept 11. in Holland :D, but does anyone know IF there's a band supporting them, and if so, which band? there is no info about it on their site. |
there is no info about it on their site.
speaking about there site. that is the best band official site on the web i think. ive been to many and opeth has the most info and anything else you wanted ot know about them on there site. |
Opeth has a grreat site.
all sites where Mark Bredius is webmaster of, are good sites too ( Porcupine Tree, Dream Theater, The Flowerkings, and a bunch more) but I guess there will be no one supporting them, cause on my ticket there stands 'Opeth' and that's all, not Opeth and supporting act or something. so it will be an all Opeth night methinks :) |
^^
Oh, i wouldn't be so sure man. I went to see Mudvayne a couple of weeks back. On the ticket it just said Mudvayne, but they had an opening act. A really ****ty one, but still. |

yes that's cheap, buy it now if you haven't already, it's worth every penny, and certainly for that price |
I'm definately buying it.. Hehe.. I've wanted that dvd since the first time I saw it
|
it's so worth it.
I bought it when it first came out, and was :amaze: and I'm going to see Opeth in september :D |
I still need to get mine.Fuck Best Buy and FYE!!!!
|
I got mine at Best Buy for pretty cheap. :)
|
Mine came with Deliverance last week for just over £20
Super excited for Septemeber now after watching it |
Yeah, that's pretty stupid. To love Opeth because of how different they sound and then complain because no one else sounds like them.
I've never typed anything like that ever. :thumb: I enjoy their music. \m/ |
I still need to get mine.Fuck Best Buy and FYE!!!!
No, that is really rude. |
Buy it regardless. It is amazing and I was there.
Is it true they played demon of the fall? |
They did, but it's not on the DVD.
|
Wich is a shame.. Something must've gone wrong with the equipment.. Maybe some of the soundguys actually thought the concert was over?
|
None of those.Opeth's record lable didnt own the rights to any of their material prior to Blackwater Park, so the DVD was limited to Blackwater Park and the D+D albums.

Can anyone explain this? Why should the material on previous ablums be excluded because of a label change? They are still Opeth's songs, Opeth can play them in concert, and the old label didn't write their music. It only makes sense that the music would be the choice of the band regardless of what label they are signed to. So now if they do another DVD, sorry everything pre-Roadrunner! PS- 47 more day until the new album. |
