No he's not. He's like the god of drummers in the underground.
aha but he doesnt get mentioned as much as, say Lars Ulrich despite the fact hes probably better |
Probably better? He's most definately better. ;)
If you listen to teh beginning of Darkness Descends and teh ending part of One, teh drumming is very similar. |
i noticed that too, its suspicously similar ;)
|
No he's not. He's like the god of drummers in the underground.
Agreed there. I'm not even all that into thrash (the big four and Kreator are about as far as I go), and I venerate him because of his work on Terria. |
His drumming on SYL makes me go \m///////////
|
I heard a few new Megadeth songs... they're kind of ****ty, but I'm not really surprised.
I've been listening to too much Razor lately... really. but isss there such a thing as too much Razor? I don't think so. |
just a little something I told RATMEvilEmpire I'd make (because he told me I'm not thrash enough to clean his toilet: witty, but hurtful)

hey guys, i wanna join the thrash clan, i listened to the darkness falls audio sample from the link someone put up and liked it (even though i only heard the intro)
as for my fav thrash album, its between Reign in blood and ...and justice for all |
Anyone know where i can hear some Xentrix i cant find any one limewire ive heard one song and there really are a good band. Not heard any megadeth yet but from you people have been saying its nothing special anyway
[edit:heard 2 tracks questions and back in the real world ace band :D] |
http://www.bnrmetal.com
anyone ever visited that site? its like that encyclopediametalium this one has been there since 1962 though all heavy metal bands you will probably ever need :thumb: |
BNRMetal is my homepage...
As for Xentrix, you can order their albums from Roadrunner I think, or at least try some other place. As for the new Megadeth, I'm not gonna go downloading anything. I'll buy it, cause you see what happened with St. Anger....loads of songs that were "supposed" to be on that album never turned up, so I wouldn't trust the internet. |
Xentrix albums seem to be hard to get hold of i have only seen the last album they did around and that wasnt cheap :( i will try roadrunner though see if they have anything thanks

Anyone going to be in Japan end of september?
if so get yourself down to Thrash Domination:
FLOTSAM AND JETSAM Added To 'Thrash Domination' Japanese Tour FLOTSAM AND JETSAM have been added to the upcoming "Thrash Domination 04" Japanese tour in September, according to a posting on the band's web site. Joining FLOTSAM AND JETSAM on the bill will be TESTAMENT, OVERKILL and DEATH ANGEL. Confirmed dates are as follows: Sep. 24 - Osaka, JPN @ Namba Hatch Sep. 25 - Tokyo, JPN @ Club Citta Sep. 26 - Tokyo, JPN @ Club Citta FLOTSAM AND JETSAM are currently writing material for their Crash Music Inc. debut and are tentatively planning on entering the studio in August for an early 2005 release. The new material is described by drummer Craig Nielsen as "leaps and bounds heavier than the last four records combined, definitely a return to the bands roots but still with some ambient surprises that break up all the speed riffing. There seems to be an inspired vibe going on in the writing process that is taking on a life of its own." |
is newsted still a member of flotsam and jetsam?
|
No... he left in 1988.
|
No... he left in 1988.
yeah isnt he in voivod now? anyone actually know how to prenounce voivod because i know i dony  |
yeah he is.
|
Voy-vod?
Unless it's French-influenced somehow. |
He's with Ozzy's band, I believe.
Which may be Voivod, I dunno. |
no he isn't anymore in ozzy's band
|
He's with Ozzy's band, I believe.
Which may be Voivod, I dunno.
he has left ozzys band now |
Good Lord that's like 3 bands in about a year.
|
Jason=Meh,I never got voivod,F&J was good but voivod was meh.I didn't even know he had left ozzys band.
|
I thought Newsted left Ozzy and is just in Voivod?
|
yea i think he did leave ozzy
|
I think we've all come to the conclusion that newstead left ozzy
|
VoiVod is french by the way people.
But I'm pretty sure that Newstead is with them. They've gone through 3 bassists, one of which became the lead singer for a while. |
Jason Newsted is smart. He left Metallica, woke up, grew his hair back out, and he joined some metal bands. Plus, we share the same birthday. Except im 25 years younger.
|
Last I heard, Newstead was back with Voivod.
Shady - What is it French for? |
Voivod ain't French and they are a decent band if you ask me. They're French-Canadian if anything....their latest album (With Jason) is pretty good and their first few were ace.
|
The best thing about the Megadeth reissues is the fact that the un remastered versions will come down about 50% in price :D
When Raw Power was remixed, I gave it one listen and turned away. I didn't like it cleaned up. To me, the record IS its crappy sound and anything else wouldn't do. So, meh. |

Like a rat leaving a sinking ship :thumb: |
Defenestration is a Cryptopsy song! All hail Blasphemy Made Flesh!
I don't know what to do with my hair! I want to grow it out, but I don't know what I'll do when it's mid-length, it'll just kind of hang there and I'll look like a skater. Any suggestions? .
So I'm at one of em strict private schools but only for another year or so. Probably only one haircut left for me. I know I'll never grow it haha. |
Dave Mustaine is certainly quite active
He has a pulse hehe.
Heard about that. I'll buy it if it's good. Too many good metal records are being released to be buying average material.
Hell yes! I turn my head and a dozen shoot through. I might catch only about 1%.
w00t!....*opens soulseek, kaaza and emule simultaenously*......now what was it called again....
Even less without these wonderful applications. |
as for my fav thrash album, its between Reign in blood and ...and justice for all
Getting past that **** production, though. There do exists albums that crunch AND have the songwriting of AJFA. Blood good record still. |
Would just like to say sorry to kreator i was letting him download a xentrix song off me and i was downloading a sepultura cover of smoke on the water my bastard internet timed out with like 10% left to do :upset: thats 56k for ya i suppose :( sorry

I'm pretty sure he meant the word Voivod is French, or at least comes from it. |
Crustacen
The Dutch band Crustacen was formed back in 1989 under the name Crystal Lake, with the name change taking place in the mid-nineties, along with a slight style change away from pure death metal towards Slayer-esque thrash (some of the members also play in a Slayer cover band). Insaniac, the band's most recent album, is a whirlwind of deathy thrash, or perhaps thrashy death, with Tom's vocals being more of the old-school thrash variety (bringing to mind the late Paul Baloff of Exodus at times, while the riffs are dirtier, more along the lines of traditional death metal, though clear thrash influences can be found here as well. The songs are short and to the point, with little variance in pace, but it's a fun ride. Insaniac is a strong thrash album, and Crustacean may well have a bright future in front of them.
Now i havent heard anything from them neither can i find a site of theres or a place to find a sample of there work but from that they sound alright anyone else heard of them? They released an album in 2003 so there must be somewhere that has some Crustacen. |
Voivod are Canadian I don't know if they're french though, but could we just drop the subject.
