But The Clash didn't sing Bananaphone.

Coma_Girl 04-24-2005 08:59 AM

i just totally changd my mind.i was supposed to take get down moses.

i choosed this song cause it's one of the best mescaleros song...and the lyrics are really good. It's about how even in Europe people are not free and there's no way you can be free except if you're always on the run or something like that.I'll try to find the interview with Joe...he's better than me at explaining what he meant in his song.

Yalla Yalla - The Mescaleros

Well, so long liberty
Let's forget you didn't show
Not in my time
But in our sons' and daughters' time
When you get the feeling
Call and you got a room
Meantime, we're cutting our hands at the ke-bab shop
In the streets of fear
Forgetting all out best tai-kwon-do moves
On a barrel of beer
We trying to get a signal on a Ragga F.M.
Do the D.T.I., bust CNN
Sucking the wine right outta the vine
Spitting it out again

Groovin', lets cut out of the scene, go groovin'
Groovin', lets cut out of the scene, go groovin'
Drive, drive, drive
Distance no object, rasta for I

Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah
Yalla, yalla, ya-li-oo, whoa
Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah
Jumbalaya on the Bayou

Kool Moe Dee was in the treacherous three
There's old school, new school and Brownie McGee
Going underwater to explode
Now night is falling on the grove
You can but dream

And I hear
Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah
Yalla, yalla, ya-li-oo, whoa
Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah
Jumbalaya on the Bayou

Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah
Yalla, yalla, ya-li-oo, whoa
Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah
There's jumbalaya on the Bayou tonight in the grove

Well, so long liberty
Just let's forget you never showed
Not in my time
But in our sons' and daughters' time
When you get the feeling
Call and you got a room
Meantime, we're cutting our hands on the ke-bab shop
In the streets of fear
Forgetting all those best tai-kwon-do moves
On a barrel of beer
Trying to get a signal through from Ragga F.M.
Do the D.T.I., bust CNN
Sucking the swine right outta the vine
Spitting it back again

Groovin', lets cut out of the scene, go groovin'
Groovin', lets cut out of the scene, go groovin'
Drive, drive
Distance no object, rasta for I

Somebody got a vision of a homeland
From a township, from a township window
Through a township window
Some crazy widow dares to have a vision
Starts seething, like
Seeming like a homeland on the plain
Not in focus yet
Seeming like a homeland on the plain
Not a focus yet

I'm groovin' with a free syle nation
And maximum density

And I say
Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah
Yalla, yalla, ya-li-oo, whoa
Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah
Jumbalaya on the Bayou

Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah
Yalla, yalla, ya-li-oo, whoa
Yalla, yalla, yalla, ya-lah
Only to shine, shine in gold, shine

CombatRock 04-24-2005 11:44 AM

yay 100th page! , how long is that song andy? it had a bunch of lyrics

CombatRock 04-24-2005 11:51 AM

[/ - Allen Ginsberg lyrics]

/ do the worm on the accropolis
/ slamdance the cosmopolis
/ enlighten the populace

hungry darkness of living
who will thirst in the pit?
/ hooked in metropolis
she spent a lifetime deciding
how to run from it
/ addicts of metropolis
once fate had a witness
and the years seemed like friends
/ girlfriends
her babies can dream
but dreams begin like the end
/ shot into eternity
/ methadone kitty
/ iron serenity

ghetto defendant
it is heroin pity
not tear gas nor baton charge
that stops you taking the city

/ strung out committee
walled out of the city
clubbed down from uptown
sprayed pest from the nest
run out to barrio town
/the guards are itchy
forced to watch at the feast
then sweep up the night
flipped pieces of coin
/ broken bottles
exchanged for birthright
/ grafted in a jiffy

/ strung out committee
/ sitting pretty
/ graphed in a jiffy
/ no pity, pretty

the ghetto prince of gutter poets
was bounced out of the room
/ jean arthur rimbaud
by the bodyguards of greed
for disturbing the tomb
/ 1873
his words like flamethrowers
/ paris commune
burnt the ghettos in their chests
his face was painted whiter
and he was laid to rest
/ died in marseille
/ buried in charleville
/ shut up

soap floods oil in water
all churn in the wake
on the great ship of progress
the crew can't find the brake
klaxons are blaring
the admiral snores command
submarines boil in oceans
while the armies fight with suns

"Ghetto Defendant"

Revolution rock, it is a brand new rock
A bad, bad rock, this here revolution rock

Careful how you move, mac, you dig me in me back
An’ I’m so pilled up that I rattle
I have got the sharpeest knife, so I cut the biggest slice
But I have no time to do battle

Everybody smash up your seats and rock to this
Brand new beat
This here music mash up the nation
This here music cause a sensation
Tell your ma, tell your pa everything’s gonna be all right
Can’t you feel it? don’t ignore it
Gonna be arl-right

Revolution rock, I am in a state of shock
So bad, bad rock, this here revolution rock

Careful how you slide, clyde, all you did was glide
And you poured your beer in me hat
With my good eye on the beat, living on fixation strete
And I ai’t got no time for that

Revolution Rock <3

Spanish songs in Andalucia
The shooting sites in the days of '39
Oh, please, leave the ventana open
Fredrico Lorca is dead and gone
Bullet holes in the cemetery walls
The black cars of the Guardia Civil
Spanish bombs on the Costa Rica
I'm flying in a DC 10 tonight

Spanish bombs, yo te quiero infinito
yo te quiero oh mi corazón
Spanish bombs, yo te quiero infinito
yo te quiero oh mi corazón

Spanish weeks in my disco casino
The freedom fighters died upon the hill
They sang the red flag
They wore the black one
But after they died it was Mockingbird Hill
Back home the buses went up in flashes
The Irish tomb was drenched in blood
Spanish bombs shatter the hotels
My senorita's rose was nipped in the bud

Spanish bombs, yo te quiero infinito
yo te quiero oh mi corazón
Spanish bombs, yo te quiero infinito
yo te quiero oh mi corazón

The hillsides ring with "Free the people"
Or can I hear the echo from the days of '39?
With trenches full of poets
The ragged army, fixin' bayonets to fight the other line
Spanish bombs rock the province
I'm hearing music from another time
Spanish bombs on the Costa Brava
I'm flying in on a DC 10 tonight

Spanish songs in Andalucia, Mandolina, oh mi corazon
Spanish songs in Granada, oh mi corazon
