Interview for school project

EH!!
I need to interview musicians that play guitar in a metal band and have done it for about 5 years. Its part of a school project. In fact, I am oending an email from James Hetfield right now. SO if you guys meet the requirements above email me and I will send you a copy of the questions I need answered. But you must be a good guitar player, better than me and I can play just as well as any of the musicians in the Nu-Metal bands, so you better play thrash, speed, or Sabbath type metal. And if I hear back form James Hetfield first, then I will tell you once you email me.
Thanks.

Email: bigfreakinmetallicafan@yahoo.com

Atomic Rain 06-05-2006 11:01 AM

uh, good luck with that...

I doubt hetfield answers emails. You'd have to at least make the effort to write.

/waits for exam
Everyone else is worried because I'm not studying madly, but there's really not much more I can do to prepare for it.
thankee'

I need it :(

Chemistry- superhard

Further maths- superhard
Haha, Further Maths is the name of one of the easier branches of maths over here. Us crazy Aussies.
I'm sure you'll do fine.

Good luck for yours too Simon.

Let us know how you all go :thumb:.

EDIT: Woah, Chris, remember how you uploaded a version of Hellelujah for us a while ago by I Killed The Dog? I'm just listening to it again (dunno why) and I just realised that girl's voice sounds almost identical to my cousin's. Freakishly so...

hardcorethrashfreak 06-06-2006 10:44 AM

James's rep e-mailed me back, thank you very much. SO don't talk crap on my hero. The rep said that at this time she can't arrange anyhting for me because James is on tour in Europe. She said that he would try to respond when he returned. So if anyone can help, thanks.

Yeah. I've got that song on my MP3 player. It's such a good version.
And that chicks voice is hot.

Trigger_003 06-06-2006 11:09 PM

T'is - it's schweet.

Unlike my GAT today. The supervisors stuffed it all up; our multiple choice answer sheets had different numbers to our response booklets, but seeing as everyone was in the same situation, and we hadn't been told they were supposed to match, we assumed it was meant to be that way, and so we started writing. I had my essay plans for both of the two responses written out, and was up to the actually writing second paragraph of the first one before the supervisors realised, took up our booklets, and then gave them to whoever they were supposed to be for. So someone potentially has my essay plans and the start of my response in their booklet, and I lost a lot of work.
Fun fun.

Ah well, there's only my music exam to go now. All theory - I've taught most of the class what's on it so I should be right with that one I hope :p

Alive 06-08-2006 05:22 PM

Woo, last exam tomorrow. It's the hardest one though, Physics. I've revised about 80 pages of a text book tonight, so I should be ok.

Trigger_003 06-08-2006 05:39 PM

Good ol physics. What particular area(s)? We've mainly been doing nuclear and medical physics this semester... it's been alright.

Physics is by far the easiest exam I have.

The mechanics paper was really sneaky (lots of questions for which you had to write paragraphs, not enough maths) but I wouldn't be totally shocked if I got 100% in the electronics paper.

Edexcel Physics this morning? I'd guess not by your post time but yer.

Kind of the other way around for me, there was loads of maths on the Mechanics and Radioactivity paper (and very easy radioactivity questions), whilst the Electricity and Thermal Physics paper was really quite hard. Astrophysics wasn't that hard either.

Trigger_003 06-10-2006 04:47 AM

/got in the 90's for my music exam, quite possibly the highest mark in the class. Yay.
The people I'd given a theory crash course got high marks as well :). Everyone else seemed to have a really hard time with it though...

AQA.

My modules have different names to yours.

Socceroo's for the win!!!

Anyone been following the world cup much? My Italian teacher watched the "two games" (Italy and Australia) last night and he looked and sounded absolutely stuffed today.
Looks like everyone Sydney and Melbourne at least had an awesome time last night as well. 3 goals in 8 minutes... crazy.

What's going on with everyone these days? Have we all finished exams now?

Aes820 06-13-2006 04:14 AM

Yes. Trea. It has been a good few nights of sport.
There was the 3 - nil in the roundball last night, obviously.
And there was our Wallabies absolutely thumping the English Lions on Saturday night.
I suspect another win from NSW coming up tomorrow night as well. Even tho I wouldn't mind if QLD did win, because then we'd at least get to watch the third deciding match.

At work I've been busy fighting the powers that be, making compromises to try to not have my websites homepage look like the billboards around the edges of a cricket field. No one likes big obnoxious looking banner images up the top of homepages.
And we're down a few officers as well, people are on holidays. Makes it tough as much of today it was me on my own trying to handle everything.
It's exciting at least, and I'm doing what I love.

At the moment I'm checking this site against our accessibility standards:

Diatonic Dissonance™ 06-14-2006 11:33 PM

Tut tut Trea, I was expecting high 100's from you ;).

What was on the test?

Trigger_003 06-15-2006 12:01 AM

Haha. Boring stuff like inverals, scale degrees, scale types, recognising keys from basic excerpts, counting rhythms, writing rhythms, cadences (she wrote out V-I etc. instead of making us identify anything from four-part...?) etc. I made 2 stupid little mistakes out of the whole paper... I think I was a bit careless because it was so basic .

Have you got results back yet for anything? I'm still waiting for my Italian score.
Bet you aced music :)

Yeah Chris, it does get a bit crazy when everyone else is away hey? At least you're not stuck for things to do.

Diatonic Dissonance™ 06-15-2006 12:04 AM

Just music results so far.

Haven't got any of the other classes back (my teachers are so lazy). I have to wait until term 3 :-@.

Trigger_003 06-15-2006 12:42 AM

Ah :(

How'd you go with that then?

I'm surprised with how quickly we got all ours back. Funny how the only results I haven't got back yet are from a class where he's only got two exams to mark - including mine.

I topped physics and linguistics, came 2nd top for methods (these are all out of the whole of year 11, not just my class - only missed out on top by a couple of marks) and music, and seeing as there's only two of us doing italian I think I can safely say I'm either top or 2nd top in that as well. Woah, that's actually pretty mad crazy.

:p.

I got 100 on my test .

But didn't do too well at our soiree unfortunately. I'm starting lessons with Jeremy so that will improve. I did well accompanying our group (I'll upload the recording when I get it) but solo was meh. Oh well!

Trigger_003 06-15-2006 01:45 AM

100% eh? Awesome!

That's surprising that you didn't do well at solo... I thought you would've gone really well at that. Those lessons should do great though.

Can't wait for the recording. :)

I've gotta go, got a gig to do.

Diatonic Dissonance™ 06-15-2006 02:15 AM

Yeah.. nerves.. ya know?

Laetus 06-15-2006 02:18 AM

It just hit me.. I've never actually introduced myself. :)

My name's Jacob and I'm a music-holic.. :p
But anyhow - I do vocals, play guitar, bass and am pretty good at making drum loops in Fruity Loops if I should say so myself..
That leads me to another thing, which on other forums have proved a problem now and then.. I'm particularly stubborn on my opinions and do not change opinions unless thoroughly convinced.

Out of all the things I play - I have done vocals for the far longest.. That it may not always be noticeable on the mixes I sometimes add in the Audio Arena, or here for reference, then it's due to a poor setup. :)
(But the setup is improving gradually and the mixes get better as I learn mixing probably)

Rhythm is natural in my family.. My dad was a drummer, my big bro' is a drummer, my little bro used to be a drummer(then the bastard converted to techno'ism - a genre I don't see eye to eye with). But I've chosen to not go in that direction, so I picked string instruments. However, in fact I would never have done any instrument other than vocals if it wasn't for the fact that I needed an instrument to start composing songs.

My influences are wide and spread over a large variety of music spanning from classical music, particularly Beethoven and Mozart, to the loudest and hardiest of metal. But my true favorite is the band that inspired me to sing.. A good ol' 80's band called Europe.

Well - that's the rough sum up about me. :p

Guitardo 06-15-2006 12:29 PM

Hey I'm Moss love guitar in a band
I also love sports and video games
Played guitar for 6 years

Trigger_003 06-15-2006 04:41 PM

Hey Jacob, Moss, good to get to know about you a bit more :).
What kind of band are you in Moss? Jacob, are you in a band or do you just do projects?

Nervous? Really? You didn't strike me as someone who would get nervous. Then again, it's kinda hard to tell over the net/msn.
I got pretty nervous with mine too. It's weird - I can play pretty much anywhere on trombone now without being too worried about it, but as soon as I have to play in front of friends that haven't heard me much before, or for a class... :upset:

necromouse 06-15-2006 07:36 PM

youz gouys singaz?
okay? umm do you ever feel like a poser when you sing?
maybe im just crazy, but i feel obnoxious when i sing, so i nipples out of desperation

Yeah I know, I didn't strike myself as a nervous person either :-/.

It's just hard when you're in a class of like nine pianists and your teacher is a pianist and you feel like they're all judging you.

But with Jeremy I'm gonna get better .

Trigger_003 06-15-2006 11:28 PM

9 pianists? Jeez! We only have like 9 people in our whole music class.

OMGZ HOLIDAYS!!!
*party*

Necro: I did backup singing with one of my bands when it was required, but I never felt like a poser doing so. I think it's just a bit of self-consciousness and not knowing what you should do with yourself whilst onstage. You'll get over it the more you sing with your band (I'm guessing you're in a band) and the more you gig - trust me on that.
You should video yourself singing, sit back and look at it, then see what you think. Sure, if you go overboard with the stage tactics when your band sounds horrible, some people might be a bit :/, but I think most people can work out enough to know whether a crowd is going to like any crazy stuff or not.

ariathe9th 06-16-2006 08:19 AM

nah u get used to it

i recomend reading the music inner game

or taking drugs (beta blockers) works really well for me

necromouse 06-16-2006 08:55 AM
