in other news, i hope ed gein and all else failed play here. since AEF is from here, i'm pretty sure they will. |
I'd want to move to NJ for all the ghosts, hauntings, and monster stuff.
Yeah, Weird NJ is amazing. It tells you all the haunted and abandoned shit all over NJ. I wanna' got to Clinton Road, supposedly a very active satanist gathering location and there's a bridge that if you throw a quarter off of, this ghost of a boy will either throw it at your car or come up and give it back to you. Also, I want to go to the Marlboro Slaughterhouse, it looks so scary. They supposedly found one of guards with his head replaced by a pigs head when the farmer that the land was stole from went insane and killed people. But there's all this graffiti and rooms with drains in the middle where the blood from the animals used to drain. |
do you know if the book is any good? i saw it in barnes and noble before.
|
Eh, if you have all the issues (like me), don't bother buying it. Because it basically is just a summary of all the significant stuff they done so far in the magazine. I have it but it's really not that necessary like I said. My dad got Weird US today, a book with weird stuff from across America or something. I'm afraid Weird US might ruin Weird NJ though...
|
i might subscribe to it. most of the stuff seems to be in north jersey. the only place i recognized so far was lambertville.

I'm thinking I want to subscribe to Weird US, now that you mention it. I forgot all about this haunted/ghosts/monster stuff, I love it so much. I've been reading at weirdnj.com, seems pretty interesting over there. |
Hardcore/Metalcore/Haunted places in New Jersey Education
 I don't think Weird US is a zine. It's a book. |

What was the attraction in Lambertville? |
there's 2 of them. boner bar and the lambertville church. i've never heard of them, but i've been in lambertville a lot.
|

Oh yeah. The Boner Bar is gay. I don't like that stuff. I like the urban legend scary stuff. Is the church haunted? |
i meant lambertville school, not church. they only have the school in the pictures part of the "only go there at night" section. what's with the boner bar though, i couldn't find a story on that either.

They have the penis bones of all kinds of different animals... I think I know what your talking about with the school. Some kid supposedly haunts it who died in a football game when he got his head twisted full around. |
http://www.weirdus.com/stories/PA01.asp cool, this is the hospital i was talking about that i wanted to go to. it's like 3 miles from my house. we should stop spamming this thread now.

I remember that article. That place looks fucking intense as hell. Now that's hardcore/metalcore. At the place I went to, there was a story in Weird NJ about some people who got chased out of there by a guy with an axe. |
One of the WNJ locations is right were the venue "The Palace" used to be.
|
http://www.weirdus.com/stories/PA03.asp i've been here before too. it's a town that has been burning underground since i think the 80's. it's pretty far, about 3 hours from here.

That's pretty weird.
One of the WNJ locations is right were the venue "The Palace" used to be.
Is that The Palace Of Depression? |
youre forgetting one of the best grindcore bands today...DAUGHTERS!!! their cd is 11 songs, and its just over 11 min...so so goood...also circle takes the square, but they have really long songs, and dual male/female vocals.....so crazy, only three people in the band, but it sounds like 5 or 6 they aren't true grindcore, but they would be melodic grindcore if such a thing ever came to be...
Neither band is Grind. |
Neither band is Grind.
theres two types of grind 1) The death metal sort, with the wierdest growls ever. 2) The kind such as daughters, the locust, etc... but ctts isnt grind, try screamo :thumb: |

Real Grind, which is what I think you meant by "The death metal sort", is Punk, not Metal. Napalm Death and Carcass had more in common with Larm and SOB than Death and Possessed. |

Actually, The Locust and Daughters have grind elements, they're just not completely grind.
