Yeah that's why I'm getting blazed before I listen to it, I'm a lot more open-minded when I'm high.

EDIT: will also dress up like Rob Darken before I listen, it'll get me in the mood.

RetiredAt21 10-28-2009 09:54 AM

I know you guys aren't much into nsbm but you should still check out Combat, **** is pretty awesome.

Angmar 10-28-2009 11:02 AM

Justin I advise you keep an open mind when listening to Summoning, and start with Minas Morgal tbh.

RetiredAt21 10-28-2009 11:03 AM

OK, I'll dl that first.

Angmar 10-28-2009 11:04 AM

It's probably their most metal and has the heaviest riffing.

RetiredAt21 10-28-2009 11:37 AM

This isn't horrible.

Morumbar 10-28-2009 11:54 AM
who cares how many artists you have in your library?
This, really. Pointless elitism in the past few pages.

Btw, I've seen the band Blut Aus Nord pop up a lot lately. What kind of bm is it and what album would you recommend?

Also, does anyone here like Summoning's Lugburz? I really can't get into it and usually end up turning it off somewhere halfway through.

Angmar 10-28-2009 11:56 AM

The new Blut Aus Nord is pretty unique I guess it has very light spacey synths and the guitars are very well done and sort of ethereal sounding idk you just need to get it you would definitely like it.

that song is awesome

Morgul...

and this album is poor. it starts off well, it's interesting and a new style for summoning, but two or three songs later its painfully obvious formula becomes apparent...

start off wtih slow riff that builds towards fast riff, go to slow section then back to fast riff, back and forth a few more times over 10+ minutes. still, it all blends well together and is more or less well written, but once you've heard the first song you've heard the whole album

Angmar 10-28-2009 12:03 PM

Nah not really.

Plus who cares tons of metal follows a formula.

Stevie 10-28-2009 12:04 PM

tons of metal is ****

Angmar 10-28-2009 12:06 PM

Yah but let's face it even a large part of good metal follows formulas, riff riff riff it's all the same just because one band involves synths and longer songs doesn't mean they're any more formulaic than a band who doesn't.

Morumbar 10-28-2009 12:06 PM

Wow, that caught my attention immediately. I really should check out that album.

This song kind of sounds like a much more aggressive Sun Of The Blind. Thanks.

EDIT: @ Angmar

Angmar 10-28-2009 12:08 PM

Yeah dude the whole album is really good.

Morumbar 10-28-2009 12:14 PM

Lol, this is will be the first French band on my hard drive.

I once considered downloading Aes Dana, but I decided against it.

Dragons of Time is probably the only song I listen to on that album.

RetiredAt21 10-28-2009 12:56 PM

I'm liking Minas Morgul a lot.

yeah i know what you mean. i think summoning improved with later albums and there's not much of a formula. i think minas morgul was a good first attempt but they got much better with dol guldur

illmitch 10-28-2009 01:36 PM

Angmar 10-28-2009 02:04 PM
