I'm so excited now :( I've been ill the past couple of days and was having vivid dreams, one involved me driving into town to pick up the album then putting it on in my car and driving back . That was it. But it sure was more fun than being an aphid :-/

Ben upload your background please (YSI/Photobucket/whatever), i had to print screen and stuff and mine looks rather poo. I've got it centered on a black background. If yours looks better (which i think it will) I'd like to use it.

toolfreak 04-14-2006 06:52 AM

so who like that review presonally that got me really excited for the new album

Sounds good, just what I've been reading/expecting. I'm sure this album is going to be worth the wait, but I'm trying not to have any preconceptions, because i'll only be let down if I let them slip in.

Obviously, we've all moved onto different things besides Tool, so maybe they won't go in the direction we want, but the fact is, if you open this album with an open mind and give it a chance I'm sure it'll be rewarding.

exactly who knows it might be one of those albums that grows on u in time aswell

kurrpt 04-14-2006 07:20 AM

honestly, every TOoL album grew on me. Songs i listened to at first, always became my least favorites later on, and vice versa.

I still hate sober. Always did

Shadius 04-14-2006 07:22 AM

lol really? What's wrong with Sober? My only complaint with it is from the big drum build up, the song dosn't really climax as much as it should.

kurrpt 04-14-2006 07:24 AM

its the household TOoL song, and its played about 1000 times more than any other TOoL song.

the video is bad arse, but i have no desire to listen to it. EVER. If i were in a band, and they wanted to cover that song, i would abstain from participating. Honestly, i cant think of any song of theirs that comes close the dis-satisfaction i have with that song

Shadius 04-14-2006 07:28 AM

I'm listening to it now;

There's a shadow just behind me! Shrouding every step I take!
Making every promise empty, pointing every finger at me!

Oh yeah, Prison sex riff.

kurrpt 04-14-2006 07:40 AM

i love playing prison sex on my 7 string --> krank amp

Shadius 04-14-2006 07:41 AM

sweet. I love playing the riff, but the downtuning is such a faff for me.

kurrpt 04-14-2006 07:42 AM

beauties of the 7 string :D

i just use string skipping, as opposed to actually downtuning.

toolfreak 04-14-2006 07:58 AM

i must agree im not the biggest fan of sober anymore lol used to be like my favourite tool song ever but now it makes me puke lol

kurrpt 04-14-2006 08:00 AM

ill actually turn it off if its on the radio. The one band i was in for a brief period wanted to cover that song. I 'black balled' it immediately

toolfreak 04-14-2006 08:01 AM

kurrpt 04-14-2006 08:03 AM

Ludacris, Nas, Outkast for rap and Kelly Clarkson, and Black Eyed Peas for pop. I'm also starting to like Fall Out Boy.

kurrpt 04-14-2006 08:45 AM

ewwwwww

u like the black eyed peas!? WTF is wrong with you

toolfreak 04-14-2006 08:51 AM

*distraction* lets talk about tool:chug:

Turkish 04-14-2006 09:13 AM

Sober is one of my favorite songs by TOOL, although I do agree that it's overplayed by radios. Still an awesome song.

3 Days till Vicarious, can't wait to hear the new single!

Syncratic 04-14-2006 09:29 AM

It will be different from all else we've heard.

I just hope this isn't the last album.

Turkish 04-14-2006 09:30 AM

Yeah, I'm hoping it's a little bit more aggressive personally.

Syncratic 04-14-2006 09:34 AM

It'll be both agressive and super-melodic at the same time, an etheral hodgepodge. It'll be fantastic, that's all.

Esoteric_Creator 04-14-2006 09:45 AM

30-seconds of Vicarious:

http://www.myskatespot.com/files/vicarious.mp3

Enough said..

Moses 04-14-2006 09:47 AM

I'm so tempted to click that but I won't.

kurrpt 04-14-2006 09:48 AM

wheres the full song??

/clicks link

Esoteric_Creator 04-14-2006 10:02 AM

It's just 30-seconds. No harm..

It's from a radio station that wanted to play it first, so they gave the listeners a teaser..

I would give my opinion, but I will leave it up to you guys..

But! Just to give you heads up...I almost started to masturbate..
