fen are deceptive, you think they're good at first but then all of a sudden BAD.

Summoning is one of those bands you just gotta have their discography tbh

rasputin 10-27-2009 08:44 AM

s'all i needed, i'll be working through that asap
I have Darkspace III. It's boring.
I like Darkspace I the best.

AA-12 10-27-2009 08:57 AM

they're all equally great. they dont need to be interesting really, just lay down with headphones and zone out to the albums.

Dol Guldur is my second favorite, after Minas Morgul. I'd try that one and see what you think.

Anyone heard "Ast" by Skagos? I'm debating on checking it out.

Txus 10-27-2009 09:43 AM

Yeah, that Skagos album is great. I mentioned it like two pages ago.

I dont know who else has heard of them in here though

Angmar 10-27-2009 09:43 AM

Yah just get all Summoning, Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame is my fav.

Crysis 10-27-2009 09:44 AM
I mentioned it like two pages ago.
Yeah I just searched back and saw that. I'll get it sometime today. Doesn't seem like many have heard it yet.

RetiredAt21 10-27-2009 11:04 AM

I'm almost tempted to give Summoning another chance.

this

stronghold would be my favorite if i had to choose one though. the atmosphere on that album is just a perfect summary of everything i love about summoning.

Txus 10-27-2009 11:52 AM

I can't really decide between Stronghold and Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame which is also one of the best album names I've ever read.

witchxrapist 10-27-2009 12:55 PM

Let Mortal Heroes... rules, and yeah, awesome title.

Crysis 10-27-2009 01:08 PM
Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame which is also one of the best album names I've ever read.
123 its my favorite album title.

Angmar 10-27-2009 01:21 PM

farewell is sooooo good

Silenius 10-27-2009 03:34 PM
I like their first two albums.
III is pretty much II and I combined, and I don't just mean that mathematically.

About Summoning, get the rest in chronological order, except throw in Lugburz anywhere as it's not related to their style on any other release.

Precisely why I don't like it.

Stronghold is definitely my favorite Summoning album. And I think that the production on that specific album worked very well for Summoning's sound. More than on any other album by them imo.

Nepenthe 10-27-2009 04:13 PM

yeah the production is the best part about stronghold. it perfectly embodies the summoning sound.

loud music of the sky is simply amazing. their best song, or tied with kortirion among the trees for me.

Morumbar 10-27-2009 04:22 PM

What, no. Land Of The Dead, by far. After that, probably A Distant Flame Before The Sun, for me. Or maybe Long Lost To Where No Pathway Goes or Rotting Horse On The Deadly Ground.

See, most of those come from Stronghold. ^^ Def my favorite.

Nepenthe 10-27-2009 04:50 PM

i dont really like rotting horse that much. only track off stronghold i dont love.

Angmar 10-27-2009 05:02 PM

wtf Rotting Horse is so good, amazing vocal performance.

Stormrider 10-27-2009 05:22 PM

Where Hope and Daylight Dies is the only song on Stronghold that I always skip.

Really don't like that one. And yeah, Rotting Horse is so good.

FatalEnergy 10-27-2009 05:43 PM

Listening to Mutiilation. It gives me bonerz.

masscows 10-27-2009 06:19 PM

Mirdautas Vras is my favorite Summoning song, tbh.

FatalEnergy 10-27-2009 06:24 PM

I haven't listened to Summoning in forever.

RetiredAt21 10-27-2009 06:33 PM
Listening to Mutiilation. It gives me bonerz.
Which release? I like VoBIB, I don't get all the hate for it.

FatalEnergy 10-27-2009 06:38 PM

That one. I was listening to it earlier. Now I'm listening to the "Destroy Your Life For Satan" demo.

RetiredAt21 10-27-2009 06:40 PM

Yeah that's pretty good, too. I like his re-recording of Transylvania.

TimJim 10-27-2009 08:51 PM
I haven't listened to Summoning in forever.
i need to get on that tbh
