Parents are too goddam overprotective.
EDIT: For the thing with Christians...It's ok to show Jesus nailed on a freaking cross, but it's not ok to have little people cast spells on one another? I sense HYPOCRITES! |
Anyways, back to me.
*crickets chirping, everyone stares blankly at Riva.
Dunno, the beginning of the fifth book bored me to death. But I'm going to read it just so I know what's in store for me when i read the sixth one. I mean, why else would I read it?
I never know what's goin' on, I just watch the movies. |
Also, I think your theory makes more sense than mine, Leah. But, we shall see. :shifty:
It's a possibility. :p
Extreme christians in our country say it's an evil series
Bloody hell. |
Hah, this series is child's play to any real fantasy series. It's just that it is so popular that it gets the attention.
I've read stories with spells that do some nasty stuff. Like: Getting ripped apart whilst still alive. Having your flesh kept in place, but your bones raised into the sky, whilst still alive. Hearts/brains being ripped out regularly.
aha! :naughty: What book is this? Where's Bartender? Is he on holidays? |
aha! :naughty:
What book is this? Where's Bartender? Is he on holidays?
The first example was from David Eddings' "Domes Of Fire" The second was from R.A. Salvatore's "Elminster: The Making Of A Mage". The third was from various books by Eddings, Raymond E. Fiest, etc. Also, in David Eddings' "The Sapphire Knight" two bad guys get wrung out by their God. As in, their many armed God reaches out and grabs each guy with about ten arms, then wrings them dry like you would a towel. |
RCA: I can't even find my post. Do you know how far back your recommendations are?
|
Elminster owns
baldur's gate also owns |
I once read a book where the author described a peaceful setting in a meadow oh so vividly, and described a little bunny that was in the meadow sitting on a rock.
Then the author had a hawk come down and maliciously mutilate the rabbit, and she went into detail about how the bunny was eaten. I was like wtfmates? :amaze:
RCA: I can't even find my post. Do you know how far back your recommendations are?
I'll bump it for you. :thumb: |
Elminster owns
baldur's gate also owns
How bloody cool is the Floating Tower of the Lich. Baldur's Gate is fairly good. I liked Drizzt's series better. And of course the Crystal Shard series. |
TMS, I bumped my recommendation. It should be the last post in there. :thumb:
Well, I'm out. Food's here. |
I saw it, thanks much!

See you, RCA. On another note: Jom is a bot! I hereby pronounce his name to be Jombot III.

That explains that. Funny thing is, I uploaded it to megaupload because YSI just sat there "sending request" for about a half-hour. |

I did...and you are 1 away from 7k posts /edit:: far too late |
I uploaded some The Pillows, and no one noticed, either. :hugsAlexinaheterofashion:
I think most people picked up Leah's downloads and figured they'd had enough. It still kills me that we put all this work into our weekly threads, and what gets more attention than ours? "OMG!!!!! Slipknot r toring n my town!!!!!!" or "fastest thrash guitarist EVAR!!!!!!"
I did...and you are 1 away from 7k posts
Not quite. |
I uploaded some The Pillows, and no one noticed, either. :hugsAlexinaheterofashion:
I noticed that and downloaded too. :p For those that want it, copy paste dudes. I'm too lazy today to try and upload it: Finnish Lemon Flavored Mead Sima (SEE-mah) Ingredients: 1 cup sugar 1/3 cup brown sugar 1 lemon 8 cups of water 1/8 teaspoon dry yeast a few raisins Wash and peel the lemon. You’re going to need the lemon zest, so cut it into small pieces and save it. Squeeze the lemon to extract all the juice. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Stir in the sugars and remove the pan from heat. Add the remaining 4 cups of water, the lemon juice and the zest. Let the drink cool to lukewarm. Take a couple tablespoons full of the drink and put it in a small cup or bowl. Pour the yeast into the small cup or bowl and dissolve it in the liquid. Let the liquid stay at room temperature overnight. When the liquid starts to ferment (small bubbles start to form and the lemon peels rise to the surface), pour the drink into clean bottles. Add 1 teaspoon sugar and a few raisins into each bottle. Close and refridgerate. In a couple days, the raisins will rise to the surface and you will know that the drink is ready. Remove the raisins and serve ice cold. TIP from TMS: The longer you leave the drink in the fridge, the more….bubbly shall we say, it becomes. ;) Wish I could do the AIM party, but my folks are here. :upset: |
