Just got back from New Orleans. Man, that was a freaking awesome vacation. :-D I had so much cajun creole fried stuff. I also went to the Virgin Megastore and picked up some good buys. Porcupine Tree's Voyage 34, Boy Hits Car's S/T(which I thought was basically non-existent) and The Doors' Strange Days. It was on sale, so I couldn't pass it up. All 3 of them are quite good, especially Voyage 34. It's perhaps the most psychadelic, trance-inducing album I've ever listened to. It tells a story of this guy Brian, who, after 33 fine LSD trips ends up traumatized/dying from the 34th one. The story is told from the point of view that a classical composer would tell a story, only Steven Wilson included little spoken samples to help better explain the story. The solo in phase one is flat out amazing.

I know. Here I am, typing away and when I come back there's a million posts and you've beaten me to it. Damn you. |
So has anyone ever noticed that J.K is a former journalist with a poor grasp of Latin who happened to have a vivid imagination and built off the fantasy books of the 20th century?
|
Yknow, the movies really don't do the books justice...
I saw the first one, and never bothered to see any of the others...they cut out too much. I'm a purist like that. :D |
I love how she does her research. I gave a little chuckle of recognition at the name Fenrir Grayback. I love the books and writing; so rooted in mythology.
/mythology buff EDIT: Mike - I know. I bet you they're going to cut out the Quidditch World Cup in the next one. Dolts. |

Yes actually, yes I have(/me lies) NP: Pink Floyd - Learning to Fly(Prism)
Yknow, the movies really don't do the books justice...
ICB, Big Jake is back in business.
Hooray!
It would appear so. ...why was that directed towards me? |
Ok, here is Riva's prediction for book 7
Has anyone read the Chronicles Of Narnia? Well, if you haven't, then basically one of the characters kills himself to become more powerful. So, Snape has killed Dumbledore, either on his own or under Albus' orders, so that Albus' will be more powerful. Harry goes off, bangs Ginny, Hermione and Cho, then attacks Voldy, whereby he is aided somehow by Sirius and/or Dumbledore, who may or may not be in spirit form. And another thing, has anyone thought it is odd that nobody has painted a portrait of Sirius? To my mind, that's all it takes to have him back in the land of the living. |
Yea, Harry's not really a "man" yet. ;)
|
If they cut the quidditch world cup I'll be annoyed, I'm looking forward to triple decker tents. Anyone noticed how Fleur looks younger than hermione in the new film? Hermione is way too fit to play Hermione.
It would appear so. ...why was that directed towards me?
Because it was you that enquired into where he was :p I could have also directed it at Ollie who informed me of how we name the Jake's around this part of town. RAB Is supposedly Regulus Black, Sirius' brother. Harry found a note in the horcrux from him, he had already destroyed the horcrux. We also know Regulus used to be a death eater and was killed by Voldy for betraying him. |
Wait, who's RAB?
|
Any big news?
Big Jake is back! |
Harry goes off, bangs Ginny, Hermione and Cho
At once? |
Yeah, apparently Trent Reznor died after getting anally raped by a rabid panda.
Actually, when I was at the Hard Rock Cafe, I saw a geetar that was signed by him. It was pretty ok.
Big Jake is back!
My girth has nothing to do with this thread. :p |

I will too. I love Quidditch; one of the coolest things. Jason - Nice. Ok, here's my theory for anyone who is interested. We know that there are two horcruxes that were destroyed; Riddle's diary and Marvolo's ring. That leaves the part of the soul that is still in Voldemort, the locket, something else (something from Ravenclaw?) and...dun dun dun. Harry. I think that Harry is the 6th horcrux. When Voldemort attempted to kill Harry, he poured some of his powers into him. Hence, how Harry can speak parseltongue, why he was almost put in Slytherin, and such. Maybe Voldemort - whether accidental or not, I don't know - made Harry the last horcrux. It's possible that Voldemort doesn't even know it. I don't know, I could be totally wrong here. But, that's my theory. I think that the only way Harry will be able to kill Voldemort in the end is to kill himself. :D Done ranting now. |

It was only 4 days.
/feels speshul Leah, that's a good theory, but the problems I see are this 1. Dumbledore said it was very dangerous to put a peice of your soul into an object that can move freely(EG: The Basilisk) 2. He wanted to have his soul in 7 peices, so if it was accidental, then there would be 7 horcruxes, or 8 peices of his soul. |
I predict that Harry dies in book 7.
But what the hell do I know. /pretends to care :( |

Harry saw into Voldemort's head, his thoughts and what he was doing. Saved Mr. Weasley that way. Plus the scar twinges and what not. 2. Well, if he wanted 7 peices, then there would've been 6 horcruxes, with the 7th in himself, right?
I predict that Harry dies in book 7. Ok, here's my theory for anyone who is interested.
This has been suggested by quite a few people. Voldy has to be defeated in the last book, this is a kids book, and Rowling hasn't got the balls to kill of Harry. I don't think it's ever been mentioned that Voldemort did anything besides the Avada Kedrava or whatever it's called. He couldn't have done it after as Voldy lost all his power. And i think there is some implication with the Prophecy that contradicts this theory, but I'm too tired to think of it. |
/me hasnt read any of them and is surprised at this obsession
Extreme christians in our country say it's an evil series
Hah, this series is child's play to any real fantasy series. It's just that it is so popular that it gets the attention. I've read stories with spells that do some nasty stuff. Like: Getting ripped apart whilst still alive. Having your flesh kept in place, but your bones raised into the sky, whilst still alive. Hearts/brains being ripped out regularly. |
TMS, did you see my recommendations in the thrash thread?
Nope, I'll check it. Thanks.
This has been suggested by quite a few people. And i think there is some implication with the Prophecy that contradicts this theory, but I'm too tired to think of it.
The Prophecy says "Neither can live while the other survives"...part of what made me think of it. In an interview with Jo Rowling, she mentioned that life doesn't always have happy endings, when talking about her books. I think that if my theory is correct, and Rowling has written the story such, she will kill off Harry if she has to. Yes, Voldemort does tend to use the Avada Kedavra, but he is a powerful and great wizard. He chose to kill Harry because of the prophecy. We don't know how horcruxes are created, there is a possibilty that something went wrong with Avada Kedavra (because of the love/Lily Potter thing). How else could it be explained that Harry has some of Voldemort's powers? How they are so closely connected? |
