1) Opportunity to make loud grunting noises.
I do that in my day to day life. You know, assert my manliness as the alpha male and whatnot. I got talked into going ice skating today. I didn't fall once  |
So this is almost post #3000 for me.
It only took like 3 and a half years. |

That's pretty damn cool. I share a birthday with Jimi Hendrix, The Game, and Bill Nye. |
Frou Frou is an amazing band.
So, umm... Yeah. |
Aretha Franklin and Elton John were born on my birthday, so yeah....check that shit out.
p.s. sup community thread? Been a bit dead in here today. |
I found n00dz of Pete Wentz from Fall Out Boy while scanning the internetz today. Of course I saved them.
There was a story about that on the front page of the Arts section of the NY Times today. It really just uses him as an example though to show that emo (or the emo the media advertises) is a rebirth a glam.

So, umm... Yeah.
This is true. |
I share a birthday with John Elway, and both the Beginning and End of World War I. Also John Cusack, Heidenreich, and Mel Brooks.
Sup 3,000 posts. |
My manager at work told me that if I don't start getting more sales at work he's gonna have to think about releasing me when my probabation is up.
Not before I get a cheap staff loan he isn't! |

Sup 3,000 posts.
What? World War I didn't begin and end on the same day. It began in August 1914 with a rapid succession of alliances falling into place, and ended on Nov. 11th just as we're all familiar with. |

He was born 6 times, stupid. |
So today I found out I've been accepted to the music technology program at the University of Michigan. They congratulated me on "my very well received portfolio," which was just a copy of my album. That sort of praise for the work I do is probably more exciting than getting into the school. I love when old people like my music.
|
That's really great, Zappa. Congrats.

Archduke Franz Ferdinand was shot on June 28th, 1914, which started the whole alliances declaring war on each other thing. And while they did stop shooting at each other when they signed an armistice on November 11th, they didn't actually sign a peace treaty until June 28th, 1919. (Treaty of Versailles). OK... so it's a bit of a stretch. |
Congratulations, man. Did you decide where you'll be attending in the fall?
|
That's cause your album is sweet, Zappa.

I'm waiting for Northeastern University to tell me if I'm accepted. I had a great conversation with their guy about the program and how I fit in based on my portfolio and stuff a few weeks ago, but I don't know for sure if I'm going to be accepted or not. I'd like to visit both Ann Arbor and Boston to check out both schools, but I don't know if I'll be able to. If I don't get into Northeastern, I'll probably just go to UofM, though Michigan State is still a possibility. |
Research project coming up... do I do:
a) Politics in music and its effect on society b) The social/musical impact of the Velvet Underground |

Wtg Zappalex, I hope you become a famous composer so I can be that one guy who wrote about your first album.
Seriously though, good job on the scholastics. |
