Come to Davis and be a bum. The bums here are pretty cool. And I'd know my dollar wasn't going to ciggeretes and booze.

Nataroo 07-18-2005 02:23 PM

I was actually planning that till I found out about your college fees. But yeh, when im done with uni if im still feeling the same I'll probably go with my plan of proposing to every hot girl in seattle or SoCal on myspace for a green card.

Unless someone makes gay marriages official. Then one of you could do me an awesome favour.

Let's Chop Cats! 07-18-2005 02:30 PM

Gay marriage is legal in Canada, ask Tyler or Conner.
She fell in love with a guy at her work I guess. She went to Vegas with my dad and lied so much to him, then told him she was leaving this morning while I was out of the house. He told her to get out and she hasn't been back. Hasn't called me or anything. My sister still doesn't know.
are you coming to my show on the 9th

SactoUnited 07-18-2005 05:49 PM
God fucking damn it, I was pretending to be dead, but you had to go and ruin it Mike. I can't sit by and let you say that stupid shit. Don't let Hoods form your opinion on shit, they're not exactly people to idolize. With Honor are probably the most talented band in hardcore right now. They write great songs with great lyrics, and you have absolutely no reason not to like them. You let the media tell you what emo is. You know just as little about real emo as Mike Hood. All you're doing is fueling elitism. I'm guessing the only reason Hoods hate With Honor is that they're on Victory.

Don't get me wrong, I love Hoods, but in pretty much every aspect With Honor are better. Better lyrics, better drum, guitar, and bass parts, and better overall structure.
I just don't like With Honor period. People are entitled to their own opinion, but Nataroo started me going with his little post. Real emo would be a group like Dag Nasty, but unfortunately emo nowadays is bands like MCR or TBS.

SactoUnited 07-18-2005 05:50 PM

No, MCR and TBS are NOT emo. They are power pop. Emo bands nowadays are Hot Cross, A Day In Black And White, and Circle Takes the Square. Dag Nasty are hardly emo.

I was talking about stereotypical emo.

Dag Nasty emo? Huh?

Stereotypical emo is not emo. It's power pop. It's not that complicated.

SactoUnited 07-18-2005 05:56 PM

I'd rather not get into genre technicallity, although yes I know most "emo" and "Pop-punk" is power pop, If I like the band then I like it, if I don't then I don't.

That's not what we're talking about.

It all roots back to With Honor, for the most part, not always, but for the most part, I don't like that "emo" type of riff, I don't know the exact word for it, and when I called With Honor too "emo" like, everybody commenced to attacking. So the bottom line is that I don't care for them that much

Give us an example of With Honor playing a riff that you're describing so we know what you're talking about.

Calling With Honor's riffing style "emo" is completely ignorant.

Listen for emo riffing.

I just said that I don't know the wording for it.

oopyman 07-18-2005 06:04 PM

With Honor have challenging hardcore riffs.

SactoUnited 07-18-2005 06:04 PM

Listen to Bridges and Gaps.
