The OhSees - The Cool Death of Island Raiders

That indie folk kind of crap except without pretense and with a sense of humor and absurdity.

The fact that I like this says a lot, since I'm sooooo fucking sick of this sort of music, because of the environment I live in. You can't vomit in this town without hitting some cellist or glockenspiel playing asshole who's in an "anti-folk" band.

it can be our little secret way of acknowledging our own awesomeness without actually adding internet ppl to our friends list

Meatloaf - Bat out of Hell

Sometimes you've just got to be epic and over the top.

I didn't know Max Weinberg played drums on this.
John Coltrane - Ascension
how does it compare to a love supreme?

currently digging:

Yes - Relayer

Not as good as CttE or Fragile but it definitely has its moments off awesomeness.

Tom Waits - Rain Dogs

Still amazing.

Eliminator 03-28-2007 07:25 PM

It's better.
Yea, it's not very good though.

Well, I enjoyed it. I don't like being very serious about music sometimes.

Bear Vs Shark - Right Now You're in the Best of Hands...
Pixies - Surfer Rosa

Stooges - Raw Power

LCD Soundsystem is winning for best record of the year so far.

RedMorningLight 03-29-2007 09:48 AM

Sound of Silver, wurd. Also, The Who - Who's Next.

Wanker 03-29-2007 12:35 PM

I've been digging a bunch of bands recently. Echo and the Bunnymen, Mercury Rev, Bikeride, The Berg Sans Nipple, Panda Bear, The Sea and Cake, The Mountain Goats.

I've also been digging Do Make Say Think's You, You're a History in Rust and The Arcade Fire's Neon Bible. I'm not too sure what I think of Explosions in the Sky's new album; it hasn't really impressed me as of yet.

Zmev 03-29-2007 02:24 PM

Converge - No Heroes
Dresden Dolls - Yes Virginia

NH isn't as good as I thought it was, and to this day I can only take the Dresden Dolls in small doses, but they are sweet live.

Kyle 03-29-2007 02:46 PM

Mm, I used to love the Dresden Dolls but they do get annoying when you listen to them loads. They are great live though.

The Jungler 03-29-2007 03:20 PM
Mm, I used to love the Dresden Dolls but they do get annoying when you listen to them loads. They are great live though.
Agreed. The debut is way better than Yes, Virginia as well.

A lot of people in my school like them now for some reason.

Eliminator 03-29-2007 03:30 PM

dresden dolls blow

Bukowski 03-29-2007 03:32 PM

Grinderman
A Sunny Day in Glasgow - Scribble Mural Comic Journal

Grinderman is pretty good, ASDIG suck balls.

Jawaharal 03-29-2007 03:43 PM

Listening to lots of Police.

Eliminator 03-29-2007 04:16 PM

Battles - Mirrored

Most of it is boring.

The Jungler 03-29-2007 04:54 PM

Murder by Death - In Bocca al Lupo
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures

Both good albums.

YDload 03-29-2007 05:09 PM

the dresden dolls are like the white stripes of cabaret

Boilermaker 03-29-2007 05:38 PM

My friend did a drumming camp thing, and the drummer for the Dredsen Dolls came in. Appearently he's a really nice guy though.

I don't really like them a ton, but there are worse bands.

Eliminator 03-29-2007 05:54 PM

John Zorn - Spy Vs. Spy
