Well you can pray.

Either that or expect that the antibodies will act quickly in your blood stream.

You can only hope really.

Surf 09-16-2006 08:29 PM

i have a friend who is adamant that if you pour some chemical (can't remember which - some medicine) in your ear, then it kills off all the germs and you're cured. he would never do it to himself though so i wouldn't advise it.

Oh, Cassandra 09-16-2006 08:33 PM

Would that be hydrogen peroxide? I hear it works ... theres scientific proof out there somewhere, but I still wouldn't want to try it.

Surf 09-16-2006 08:49 PM

that's it. but the same friend belives that the illuminati run the world, so i wouldn't trust it; at the end of the day, you're pouring acid in your ear. nothing good will come of that.

so remember kids, don't belive everything you read on the internet.

TojesDolan 09-17-2006 12:38 AM

I believe the internets, mostly.

Eliminator 09-17-2006 12:43 AM

lyrics are for retards.

I liked it when you reviewed and made lyrics. :)

Nah, Justin.

Just post and you'll catch up.

People with bad thread titles are usually retarded and bad lyricists.

Minus The Flair 09-18-2006 12:30 PM

I have an incredibly bad thread title but I am NOT retarded.

I was wondering, what happened to SOTM?

pixiesfanyo 09-18-2006 12:38 PM

Damien Rice is so prett'e.

TojesDolan 09-18-2006 12:38 PM

I hadn't seen that, haha.

How silly. =]

Anyway, who?

Minus The Flair 09-18-2006 12:41 PM

SOTM - song of the month

Surf 09-18-2006 12:42 PM

bit squinty - trying to be clint eastwood

TojesDolan 09-18-2006 12:47 PM

Oh I see.

Jason was taking care of it, but he's not around as often I think.

I'll take it on form September and ahead. :)

Minus The Flair 09-18-2006 12:50 PM

Cool, I liked that. In fact, I might actually enter the next lyrical challenge for the first time.

Ye, where has he gone too. He's now Nightvision right? I miss his crits and his work.

pixiesfanyo 09-18-2006 12:56 PM

The SOTM doesn't work.

If anything make it writer of the month, or something.

Surf 09-18-2006 01:00 PM

poster of the month would encourage more crits from people, but sounds cheesy as hell

TojesDolan 09-18-2006 01:09 PM

Songwriter and Lyricist of the month, aye?

Minus The Flair 09-18-2006 03:42 PM

To prevent arguments from certain people, just do it as Writer or Lyricist of the Month. Writer of the Month would prevent even more arguments. And I like the sound of that

TojesDolan 09-19-2006 09:07 AM

Writer of the month it is then. I'll make the thread once the month is over.

Surf 09-19-2006 10:08 AM

then will it be based on say consistency of writing, i.e. several good songs, or one outstanding piece, but not much else?

and yeah, writer is the best choice.

TojesDolan 09-19-2006 10:14 AM

We can make a couple threads about it, but one nomination: Best song (outstanding), Best critics, Most participation, usefulness.

Some are subjective (dang this whole forum is subjective) nonethelessi t might work.

Surf 09-19-2006 10:23 AM
Best critics, Most participation,usefulness.
these could all really be the same.

it could probly be done in two threads, one for nominations, and one with a mutliple choice poll, and alot of labeling, i.e.

best song - name
best song - name
best song - name
best song - name
best song - name
best user - name
best user - name
best user - name
best user - name or whatever titles are awarded

can you have multiple choice polls on this forum? would save space on the front page

TojesDolan 09-19-2006 10:51 AM

Sure you can.

Surf 09-19-2006 12:46 PM

cool. its up to you then.

pixiesfanyo 09-19-2006 12:50 PM

Have a nomination period for WoTM the week before the month is over.

Every nomination must come with two songs the writer has posted over the month.

You need two nominations to be nominated.

Minus The Flair 09-19-2006 01:28 PM

So you must post at least 2 songs every 3 weeks? I don't write that much, and what if someone writes one piece that month which is really awesome and nothing else.

FA 09-19-2006 04:02 PM

I'm curious. Being as I always don't get time to visit teh mx, I was wondering if anyone ever wanted to crit4crit via instant messenger or email. If you send a piece to me I'll either critique and send it back or just ask you questions and talk to you about it and such and vice versa with a piece maybe I write. If anyone is interested here's my contacts:

slack 09-19-2006 06:14 PM

Song of the Month was a better idea, but it died because hardly anyone participated. The same will probably happen with this.

Instead of creating another circle-jerk, an all-around better idea is consolidating all of the stickied threads into one or two so there's more room on the front page.

Surf 09-19-2006 06:17 PM

on a similar subject, when's the voting on the challenge starting?

slack 09-19-2006 06:20 PM

In exactly two day and zero hour. :)

Surf 09-19-2006 06:25 PM

i thought it was a week? doesn't matter anyway.

still going to enter slack?

slack 09-19-2006 06:28 PM

Probably not. I bounce between drawing, writing, and playing guitar and I haven't felt like writing much lately.

I have discovered a cure for that loathsome writer's block, however. Complete and utter apathy.

Surf 09-19-2006 06:33 PM

pessimist. but cynicism is the way forward

slack 09-19-2006 06:44 PM

Serious. I notice when I start actually caring about the outcome, or how it will be received, or any other list of stupid things, then I become overly critical of myself and it all goes to hell.

Thank God I don't drink or do drugs. I'd be completely fucked.

Surf 09-19-2006 07:05 PM

that's why i can only write in isolation. no music (maybe some eno or classical - nothing with lyrics); just me a pad and a pen.

I'm overly critical of myself anyway. comes from being a mix of paranoid, narcissitic and cynical. not a good thing to read in an online psychological profile

Sloth 09-19-2006 08:17 PM

(random cut into whatever conversation is going on)

But I'm trying to come around here more now that I have a little time...so feel free to leave a link so I can crit it...Also, feel free to crit my stuff too :naughty:

Surf 09-20-2006 07:36 PM

Ya Guys I just got done my first song ever, and I do like it, but I find it appears to come off...............santanic in a way. I'll write it up later but at the time I just wondered what it would feel like to live a life away from god (seeing as I am reading the book "Final Events Of Bible Prophecy") and then when I am sentenced to a life in hell for eternity how it would feel.

So ya, there is just one line I find comes off satanic so im thinking of taking it out (yes the song would work with out it) it just says

"as I sit here in fear
of the first of my eternal sentence"

I don't like the quick rhyme with "here" and "fear" and it just doesn't sound good. so ya, I'll post up the song soon for some crit
