I just got the Show No Mercy album, the music itīs very interesting...but the photos made me laugh.

purgatory 03-26-2006 01:56 AM

Show No Mercy is really good. My favorite album would be God Hates Us All or Reign In Blood. Those are the most POWERFUL records!

I would say South of Heaven and Reing in Blood are the best, people are 50-50 when it comes to RIB, some say itīs good, same say itīs bad. I think itīs overrated but it is still damn good.

purgatory 03-26-2006 03:06 AM

South of Heaven is good, but its a slower not as thrashy album i think. Well, i take that back some tracks are very thrash.

Indeed, SOH is slow compared to their early stuff, but in my opinion the album has more variety and versatility than any other Slayer album.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-26-2006 03:17 AM

I prefer RIB.

SOH is great too, but RIB is classic +1.

I'm loving this.

Np - Jesus Saves.

SimonCore 03-26-2006 03:23 AM

RIB > SOH. But SOH has better single tracks, where as RIB is just generally a good album with two amazing tracks. Ya get me?

Angel of Death and Raining Blood, amarite?

SimonCore 03-26-2006 03:35 AM

^Yup. What i'm saying is SOH has a good track, then an ok one, then an another good track etc. Whereas RiB has two really amazing tracks, and the rest are generally very good.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-26-2006 03:37 AM

Araya's vocals are also way better on RIB.

SimonCore 03-26-2006 03:39 AM

^That aswell. They're the wierdest (the vocals) on SOH out of all the Slayer albums IMO. There's like an american accent twang that stands out. Especially in the title track.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-26-2006 03:42 AM

Yeah, I always thought the vocals on SITA and SOH were strange. He doesn't scream as much, it sounds like he's holding back.

SimonCore 03-26-2006 03:47 AM

^I'm more than satisfied with them on SITA. I don't think there's much more he could scream on the chorus of 'War ensemble'. And the vocals fit perfectly for songs like 'Spirit in black', 'SITA', and DEAD................SKIN............MMMASSSSSSSKA!

Rattlehead 03-26-2006 06:50 AM

Undisputed attitude is quite different from their other iconic album that i prefer, but i really enjoy it.

Apocalyptic Raids 03-26-2006 07:09 AM

I've never heard that.

I would like to though.

AA-12 03-26-2006 07:53 AM

I'm getting really into Slayer again lately. GHUA is definitely my favorite album from them.

Rattlehead 03-26-2006 07:57 AM

yeah, great album.

tubflogging 03-26-2006 09:56 AM

Slayer rules. Jesus Saves is a pretty sweet song, same with Aggressive Perfector. Nothing beats Angel of Death, though.
Anyone heard show no mercy?

tubflogging 03-26-2006 09:57 AM

Anyone heard stuff off of Show No Mercy?

Rattlehead 03-26-2006 10:01 AM

yea yea that one owns. the last 4 songs are the best though.

Yeah same for me aswell. It's good because it's really powerful and kinda brutal. I dunno why people don't like it.

Bazarov 03-26-2006 10:47 AM

Reign in Blood is great, but I still prefer Hell Awaits. As for Undisputed Attitude, I could never get into it because I don't like punk all too much, not even when Slayer is doing it.

One reason why I don't like GHUA is because Kerry really sucked with lyrics this time (I know I'm usually not one to care about lyrics, but this album has really annoying ones). Look at the lyrics to Exile for instance. Plus I feel the album lacks good song writing all around.

Oh and that mid riffage thing going on in Epidemic is fucking ace.

Rattlehead 03-26-2006 11:01 AM

i hate punk, but with UA its so layered up with metal/thrash characteristics that it doesn't matter for me

I don't think you should really care about the lyrics. As long as it sounds good, then i really don't care what's being sung. I think the type of lyric writing suits GHUA because it's more like talking to someone rather than like stories and stuff. And New Faith is one of my favourite Slayer songs.

Bazarov 03-26-2006 11:10 AM

Hahahaha, but it's still the riffs too that I don't like. I still like Disciple though. Bloodline is okay.

NP: Hell Awaits

Sacrifice the lives of all I know they
Soon shall die
Their souls are damned to rot in Hell
and keep the fire growing deep inside
Hell awaits...

FUCK YES!

purgatory 03-26-2006 01:13 PM

I love when God Send Death picks up a bit, and Araya goes, "God send death and misery." OMG I LOVE IT! Slayer is one of my top 5 favorite bands.

SimonCore 03-26-2006 02:45 PM

Nothing beats:

"Welcome to the horror of the revelation
tell me what you think of your saviour now
I reject all the biblical views of the truth, I dismiss it as the folklore of it's time,
I won't be force fed prophecies from the book of un-truths for the weakest mind..
I KEEP THE BIBLE IN A POOL OF BLOOD, SO THAT NON OF IT'S LIES CAN AFFECT ME!!!!"

That gets me so pumped.

Bl4ck3n3D 03-26-2006 03:37 PM

Waiting for Raining Blood to kick in at a concert gets me really pumped, same with the beginning of Angel of Death.

The breakdown in that song possesses me to bang my head like it's on a hinge.
