HHD _ Erm, im a bit busy right now with interviews and crap, but if you was top knock up a breif or something then i could do something am sure.

Theres more of my art in the DT thread, yays.

HitHardDrums55 01-30-2006 04:13 PM

haha i dont need it anytime soon but i'm recording on my home recording stuff and we plan on recording a full length cd on my stuff, then making copies at a local studio and getting labels and a booklet and whatnot...but it will take a while cause we have about 10 instruments and just 2 guys. but i've been going to his house and recording some stuff with him and right now we're working on a cover of In The Hall Of The Mountain King if you know any classical music...and i'm planning on doing a cover of Soul To Keep from the Skiba/Seconds split then mostly all originals...and we're both into dark stuff but some of it is sort of like the cure or something...so i was thinking maybe a cartoony drawing of a devil being hanged over a fire kind of thing with a really trippy looking background...just whenever you get a chance see if you can get that in the shape of a CD booklet and email it to me...my email is yournamehere_mark@yahoo.com

poprocks&coke 01-31-2006 03:11 PM

Alkaline Trio are headlining and from the videos I've seen Against Me! are awesome.

HitHardDrums55 01-31-2006 03:37 PM

sweet! are they getting local bands to open up for both of them? or is it just them? cause the tickets are a lot more than they were last time the trio was around (with rufio and thieves like us)

I dunno I haven't heard anything about any local bands opening for them. The tickets aren't that bad though. $17

HitHardDrums55 01-31-2006 09:01 PM

last time they played tremont music hall (july) tickets were like 7 bucks and i think rufio is bigger than against me! aren't they? i hardly know anybody who knows against me! but my whole area knows rufio. AND with rufio they actually had a good band for some local band to drag along for an opening act

So I've got Crimson and Good Mourning. Which album should I get now? I was thinking Goddammit, the Self Titled or maybe From Here To Infirmaty.

Untitled 02-02-2006 12:33 PM

FHTI, then Maybe Ill catch fire, then Self Titled or Goddammit.

I think FHTI is the best, people usualy say that, or GM.

Oz Rembrandt 02-02-2006 12:44 PM

If you loved GM and Crimson, get FHTI, its got some similarities in the polished recordings. I personally think Goddamnit! is their best work... although, I never have been able to fault the band.

billiejoe84 02-02-2006 01:29 PM

/doesn't have FHTI :upset:

Is that the one with Stupid Kid and Armageddon on it? I love both those songs.

Untitled 02-02-2006 01:32 PM

Yeah it is. And countless brillient songs, when i say countless i mean i cant remember how many is on the album.

Drop The Baby 02-02-2006 01:33 PM

Yeah that's the one, their best with ease i think. GM second best.

Crimson is by far and away, with out the mearest glimmer of a shadow of a doubt, their worst.

skingle 02-02-2006 01:53 PM

Seeing these guys on the 21st of this month. Should be a good time.

Chilly-Bean-Bop 02-02-2006 02:34 PM

IMO, Maybe I'll Catch Fire is their best.

chumpradio 02-02-2006 02:39 PM

I agree. I am going to listen to it now actually, haven't listened to the whole cd in ages.

Chilly-Bean-Bop 02-02-2006 02:43 PM

In ages?

Mute Print 02-02-2006 02:47 PM

I think I might be seeing Alkaline Trio in April with Against Me!

I'm actually only going for Against Me!, but whatever.

poprocks&coke 02-02-2006 03:58 PM

ROOD.

I'm also going to that show. I'm very happy.

...someone® 02-03-2006 11:30 AM

Hey. For my MusicTechnology A.Level course i need to cover a song as closely to the original. I am thinking of doing an AlkalineTrio song but I'm kinda confused about which one - Any ideas?

poprocks&coke 02-03-2006 02:57 PM

If you're an acoustic kind of man, I would suggest Blue in the Face. If not, Stupid Kid is easy to play if you have to do all the parts (I don't really know much about the drums though, as I'm not much of a drummer, but the guitar and bass parts are pretty easy). Or This Could Be Love would be fun to do.

billiejoe84 02-03-2006 03:06 PM

I think an important point to consider would be the level of production. If it has to sound as close to the original as possible, don't go for one of the more recent, polished-sounding recordings, as recreating that sort of sound is really hard unless you are really good with mixing and production and stuff. So I say go for one of the older songs.

poprocks&coke 02-03-2006 03:17 PM

Ahhh, very good point there Jimmy.

Something off Goddamnit maybe?

HitHardDrums55 02-03-2006 03:50 PM

sorry about that

poprocks&coke 02-06-2006 03:47 PM

Yeah but... it's what everyone will be expecting.

What about Goodbye Forever?

HitHardDrums55 02-06-2006 03:57 PM

people will be expecting Sorry About That, but not Blue In The Face?

poprocks&coke 02-06-2006 04:03 PM

Ahh, touché.

Dead Star 02-06-2006 04:44 PM

So I'm listening to Crimson.

I've realised that I love this album.
