Are you writing lyrics or just messing around on the guitar?
Actually working on my book, which has been dormant for weeks. I have lots of things to say in it but I suck on plot.

Permanent Solution 10-12-2004 07:54 PM

Story of a teenager's life...except I speed so I can't say my life :p...

Writing songs is easier than writing a book imo...props to you :thumb:

Kingofdudes 10-12-2004 07:56 PM

Old People around here drive super slow, and dont know what the hell is going on around them.

Really? What's the book about? I tried writing a novel once but I never got around to finishing it (always on the go). I'm impressed that you're dedicated enough to try and stick with it.

Paranoidd 10-12-2004 08:04 PM

Thanks.

Songs...I have a few (lyrics, that is). I'm really bad on the guitar. I can get a couple of chord changes down, but then I fold.

I write a bit of poetry.

Tin Soldier (a paranoidd poem)

he destroyed something beautiful today
a simple act he then calmly walked away
there was no speech, no melodramatic cliche
he destroyed someone beautiful today

they manipulated his mind and stripped him to the core
his pain was evident by the twisted look he wore
a slave is not a drone because a man is so much more
they were not satisfied until the bodies hit the floor

he destroyed something beautiful today
a severed touch and he drifted further away
he does not feel remorse for the past, they'd say
they destroyed someone beautiful today

Riva 10-12-2004 08:05 PM

Wow. That is some haunting imagery, if you know what I mean.

Cipher Hour 10-12-2004 08:07 PM

Yeah that is very good. It's got a nice flow and the wording is awesome. So when are you gonna update your blog? I need to get my fill of Paranoidd's random ramblings or I'll go on a baby killing rampage!

Paranoidd 10-12-2004 08:12 PM
Really? What's the book about? I tried writing a novel once but I never got around to finishing it (always on the go). I'm impressed that you're dedicated enough to try and stick with it.
It's basically about one guy, and the character is loosely based on myself which makes it easier to write about but also harder because I have to be very self-analytical and see my own flaws...it's stressful and difficult to identify and to write about all the things wrong with me.

It's a learning experience.

Basically the character doesn't leave his apartment except in the middle of the night to meet is only friend, a girl who loves, who is a complete hallucination. He has extreme xenophoba (fear of strangers) and a bunch of other problems.

Alot of the book is really me ranting about my own beliefs and philosophy, and before everyone starts crying "fight club rip off!" I will honestly say that although that book (and other books by the same author) were a big influence on me, my book is completely different, and I'm very concious to avoid similarities.

Basically it's based on the placebo effect. My character manufactures sugar pills and sells them as real medication on the internet, for exorbant prices, and has a ton of money and nothing to do with it.

Theres more stuff here and there but I'm trying to work a plot, which I suck at.

Paranoidd 10-12-2004 08:15 PM

As for updating my blog, the past couple weeks have been stressful to say the least, and I need to be in an angry/playful mood to write in there. Normally something bad/funny will happen to me, but lately it's been just strictly BAD.

Cipher Hour 10-12-2004 08:16 PM

It sounds pretty interesting as far as what you've told me about the concept and main character. Heh I could write a whole book based solely on my flaws but I can see how it would be stressful. You know just thinking over the concept I think it would make a pretty good movie in the right hands (a lot better then the **** coming out now anyways). Manufactures sugar pills and sells them as real medication...classic. Well keep working at it, I'm sure it'll turn out fine.

As to the blog comment...yeah I've been having those kind of days too. Oh well I'll still hold my breath for an update (much more then I can say for my patience on Chinese Democracy...pfft...whenever THAT comes out  ).

Kingofdudes 10-12-2004 08:18 PM

I can barely even write up an organized post, no way in hell can I get my thoughts together to write a song or story :(

Cipher Hour 10-12-2004 08:49 PM

Heh, looks like everyone has drawn their attention on that stupid "GIMME ATTENTION BECAUSE I'M A REBEL!" thread. *Sighs* So anyone see any good movies lately? I recently picked up some pirated versions of "The Day After Tomorrow", "Spiderman 2", "Shrek 2", and "Van Helsing". Out of the 4 I'd have to say I enjoyed Shrek 2 and Spiderman 2 the most...The Day After Tomorrow had potential but was kind of cliche and boring...same goes for Van Helsing. Although for the most part they all had very good acting. I also saw "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow"...what a god awful movie. I wanted to kill Gwyneth Paltrow after watching that bomb.

LegionsofMarduk 10-12-2004 08:49 PM

lol...It seems like the only time I really post in this thread is when I'm utterly pissed about something. This is like my "vent" thread.
Can you get a line of credit from the bank? Pay off those expenses...
Yeah I could, but if I do that I might as well just pay things off on my own since I'd still be paying interest. Oh well. I did talk to the financial company again tonight and did get a little bit of good news. Part of the interest I pay if I borrow against my 401k would actually go back into my account. So I think I'm still going to do that. So I'm a little better off now than I was earlier. I'm still a bit frustrated with our whole money situation, but I'm in a better mood at least. Although the idea of moving to a remote cabin is still somewhat appealing.

Paranoidd 10-12-2004 09:01 PM

Well, the only good thing about a line of credit is, say you've got a bunch of stuff you have to pay RIGHT AWAY, because you'd be facing hefty overdue.interest fines, or whatnot. With the line of credit you could consolidate everything, pay it off, and cruise with a 5% interest rate or something, with one bill to pay off on a set timeline, as opposed to tons of little ones all over the place.

Just depends how urgent your situation is.

Riva 10-12-2004 09:06 PM

What should I make for lunch?

Should I just eat some salami and cold chicken by themselves? Or should I put them in some slight stale bread and eat that?

Kingofdudes 10-12-2004 09:08 PM

Im gonna have lunch in 14 hours, but it is gonna be school lunch :(

Riva 10-12-2004 09:11 PM

Bad luck, hey.
What should I make for lunch?

Man, I'm dealing with turkey leftovers for the next few days.

Stale bread sucks, my sandwich today had stale bread.

I'll be eating lunch at work in exactly 12 hours.

Paranoidd 10-12-2004 09:19 PM

I finished Final Fantasy II (an RPG) on SNES in exactly three days. I started on saturday night, and finished just now.

Does that seem odd to anybody?

Permanent Solution 10-12-2004 09:20 PM

Haha, the detention thread got closed...just when Paranoidd was pwning all... :(

Cipher Hour 10-12-2004 09:21 PM

Not really...I finished Final Fantasy 6 in one weekend (sad really)...in fact I've finished a lot of RPGs in the period of only a few days without using cheats or strategy guides. Either the game is really easy or you're just really good.

Is anyone else glad that someone FINALLY closed that **** "detention" thread? Talk about a waste of space.

Permanent Solution 10-12-2004 09:22 PM

Hey...I was enjoying it...cause I had facts, and I like winning against less informed people...

Riva 10-12-2004 09:23 PM

I completed the SNES Zelda, with the gold cartridge, in about 3 days. I don't know much about Final Fantasy though so I couldn't tell you.

Cipher Hour 10-12-2004 09:23 PM

We both know the thread was pointless and didn't belong on R&M whether you were or weren't pwning morons.

Cipher Hour 10-12-2004 09:26 PM

*Sigh* Always with the demands...I'll get to it soon enough.

Riva 10-12-2004 09:30 PM

Hey, KingOfDudes and Guitrguy, how did that Basic assignment go?

Sorry I couldn't find the code.

Paranoidd 10-12-2004 09:30 PM

That thread was pissing me off hardcore.

So many stupid idiots in one place.
