Nope, and honestly if one was leaked now, I wouldnt go snooping around the net looking for it. Im going to wait till im listening to them from the released CD.

Im sure im probably the only person that patient, but thats how I feel about this downloading buisness now
I'll agree with that. Especially with a band like Tool, their albums are very much needed to be heard in full. Before I really got into them, I had several songs downloaded on my computer, but it wasn't until I actually purchased and listen to their full albums that I realized how great their music is.
A guy way back there said that 'Stinkfist' is about anal fisting.

How wrong you are. I read something about Stinkfist somewhere, and it is now what I believe the song is about.

What i believe, is that Stinkfist is about the desensitisation of the human race. For example, back in the 1970's it was shocking to put certain things on television, like nudity, drugs etc. Nowadays, people dont 'want more', they 'need more' to be stimulated. It's ok to show that stuff now as we are used to it. We, the human race are becoming desensitised. "Knuckle/Fist/Shoulder deep within the borderline". This is saying that we need more and more to stimulate us, and each time we want to get it as close to the borderline (past that being too far) as we can without going over it. Another example would be taking as much heroin as you can to get as stimulated as you can without overdosing.
This is off subject, but when I was reading your post I thought of the movie "Running Man".

Dancin' Man 01-21-2005 09:43 PM

I've decided LAMC is one of my favorite Tool tracks. It's just so scary. It's like a bad trip in a house of mirrors through sound.

ANewHope 01-21-2005 09:47 PM

Oh yea, if anyone here can tell me where I can find some cool interviews with Adam Jones talking about the guitar and such that would be cool.

ANewHope 01-21-2005 10:36 PM

Holy ****. I just read a crap load about "Planet X" Lateralus is starting to make too much sense. The cross in the back of the book represents the "northern cross". Its worth looking into.....it's kind of spooky the whole subject.

Dancin' Man 01-21-2005 10:39 PM

link to that?

dUSK 01-21-2005 11:18 PM
Yes on both accounts.

Speaking of Faaip de Oaid, I have the un-altered actual radio recording of it. Anyone care to hear it?
Can you send it my way. Thanks. gregbyers at gmail.com :)

And on the subject of the Tool leak, I doubt that there is one. And if there was, the people who truly appreciate Tool's music would wait for the album anyway. Listening to their songs individually just doesn't seem to do them justice. A leak might however, speed up the rate at which the album is produced, so that may be a positive thing to draw from the situation.

ANewHope 01-21-2005 11:27 PM
link to that?
If you read the article you start to put the puzzle together.

http://www.subversiveelement.com/Planet_X.html

Also this is just something weird I found....it mentions toolshed.net

http://www.googlism.com/when_is/p/planet_x/

When you really think about it, even the stuff the dude from Nasa says on Lateralus could add up.

Just gotta say, Congrats on reaching 100 pages worth of awesome Tool info and discussion. To:

100 pages of (mainly) good discussion, sharing of files and knowledge, and a LOT of anticipation. Well done to all of us.

And on a trivial gimmicky note, since Official threads are dying soon, this thread is going to need a new name, as I would still prefer to post here rather than make more threads in the future. Anyone got a good one?

munky_magik 01-22-2005 07:11 AM

I think they're still going to live on, possibly with the same name. It's just that people aren't happy with the way they divide the forum so threads on the band will still be allowed, just not directed to be in the official thread. The official threads will still continue I think.
That's what I understood of the situation anyway.

Adam Jones is GOD 01-22-2005 07:35 AM

I think there wil be the need to remove the Official sign from threads though, to allow for multiple threads to be started again.

Plus a new name would be a good thing though.

The Flabbit Rides High 01-22-2005 07:56 AM

What about...: "Toolshed"?

Adam Jones is GOD 01-22-2005 07:58 AM

Copyright infringement++

But sound sgood. Lets be the first thread to be sued.

The Flabbit Rides High 01-22-2005 08:07 AM

Lets be honest here, Do we really give a fuc.k about Toolshed.net?

Its just full of meaningless info on top of some bios on Tool.

clearvision 01-22-2005 08:43 AM

100 pages... clearvision - 3rd biggets postwhore in the tool thread :)

New name eh? It has to have some reference to tool so trivial lyricy type names are out :( I was thinking 'The patients' We've all been so patient for this dam album ;)

Dancin' Man 01-22-2005 08:50 AM

Why not just

The Tool Thread.

With a period of course, for finality.

clearvision 01-22-2005 09:26 AM

Indeed.
Why not just

The period must stay, it's like a part of this threads identity.

Otherside 01-22-2005 10:16 AM

The Non-Official Tool Thread.

How about that?

Adam Jones is GOD 01-22-2005 10:20 AM
The Non-Official Tool Thread.

How about that?
Non official just says crappy for me. Unauthorised has a similar effect.

I think The Tool Thread seems a good choice. ALthough we could steal The Tool Collective and wait for the law suits

jamesclelland 01-22-2005 05:10 PM

i don't think tool or site owners would sue, but lawyers may have a problem. what about some lyrical content like "ride the spiral" or something. that one sucked but maybe someone can use that idea and come up with something good.

special thanks to G_Mac07 for the kudos. But really it's thanks to everyone for all there great input.

Dancin' Man 01-22-2005 05:17 PM

I think just "Tool." or "The Tool Thread." would be best because it is clear what it is and has an obvious name.

The JoZ 01-22-2005 05:20 PM

As one of the resident Toolophiles I try to do my part :thumb:

Why don't we call it "The Shed of Tool"? No infringment to worry about there, plus it's our place of Tool...plus, I dunno, it sounds cool?

Adam Jones is GOD 01-22-2005 05:23 PM

I think it has to be something good, as everyone else will be spurting out tool threads like no tommorrow when their album is out, so having a thread like this where well known intelligent posters go will be somewhat of a safehaven

The Flabbit Rides High 01-22-2005 05:30 PM

Yeh, that sounds ok.

/hopes one day my name will be thre

Otherside 01-22-2005 05:34 PM

How about "The Eon Blue Apocalypse"?

The Flabbit Rides High 01-22-2005 05:36 PM

What about "The Undertow"

dUSK 01-22-2005 07:54 PM
How about "The Eon Blue Apocalypse"?
I like that, but it also reminds me of the numerous members named "Eon Blue Apocalypse" or likewise, who seem to only live in the Pit.

The JoZ 01-22-2005 07:56 PM

I still like my suggestion.

I might be a little biased though :p
