I've always been the only one of my friends who's into classic rock. My favorites are Zeppelin, Floyd, and Van Halen. But there's too many to list.

Long live classic rock!

rocked not rolleded 08-06-2004 07:24 PM

Of course. But do you like Healey? Eh eh? huh?

People need to stop saying things like the beatles are the most important band ever. Yes, they are good and I like them but that's a subjective thing.

rocked not rolleded 08-06-2004 09:00 PM

Who's more important than the beatles? The beatles aren't the most mtalent, best sounding or most popular band ever but they are the most important.

At least I think they might me. Who else helped develop rock from blues and folk as much as them?

omg. i just saw festival express, which was a documentary about a tour in 1970 of a bunch of artists on a train in canada, including Buddy Guy, The Grateful Dead, The Band, The Flying Burrito Brothers, Janis Joplin and o so many more that weren't so big that i can't remember. It was absolutely amazing. Of course the theme song was "Casey Jones". And they showed a SPECTACULAR Janis Joplin performance. OMG it was so good it gave me chills. The Band, Buddy Guy, and The Grateful Dead were great too. but Janis was GODLIKE! plus u got to watch them hang out drunk and stoned on a train and jam. it was awesome...

rocked not rolleded 08-06-2004 09:18 PM

Janis Joplin rules. That's all I gotta say.

Against Miik! 08-06-2004 09:20 PM

Does anybody like Boston? They are the only good band named after a piece of geography IMO.

rocked not rolleded 08-06-2004 09:20 PM

Kansas, biach. And Buffalo Springfield.

Yes I like what i've heard from Boston.

zachenke 08-06-2004 09:22 PM

In my opinion, Led Zeppelin was and still is the best band in the entire history of music. With Page's hard rocking, influental guitar skills, Plant's incredible lyrics and awesome singing/harmonica (haha) skills, Bonham's incredible drum skills (i think he was the best drummer ever), and Jones' incredible bassing/keyboarding/Mandolining (are any of those words?), they all composed the best music i have ever heard. I have been playing guitar for 2 years, and at first i wished i could sing. But now i realize i want to be a legendary guitarist (what 14 year old guitarist has a different dream). At first i wished i could sing but now i would rather be great at guitar than being ok at guitar and good at singing. But thats just my opinion. Classic Rock is the best. Clapton is also very influental to me. I could go on and on but i think im boring people.

Just think about it. Think of all the influential jazz artists, blues artists etc...
Then there's also people such as clapton who took the blues they heard brought over to britain and morphed it into their own sound. the list of super important bands so endless it's not even worth talking about.

the thing about the bealtes is that they could incorporate some many styles of music and change themselves and stay successful( not many bands are able to do that) many bands from all kinds of genres to claim to have been influenced by the beatles

Yep. I agree. Jones gets too little credit for his bass playing. The guy has tons of talent.

lots of people can incorporate lots of styles into their music. Lots of people can play lots of styles. Many bands have influenced people from several genres. Like I said the beatles were very very good. But that doesn't make them the most important band ever.

Yeah. Well basicly they were pop/rock. But they had a whole bunch of songs that are of different genres. Like that song with the sitar (spp)
