I'd be interested in hearing what that would sound like. Probably bad, but it'd be interesting. Symphonic thrash. Heh.
|
Actually yeah that would be really cool sounding.
Alrighty so explain this, If its sooooo overrated....why did u by the DVD?
i sed its overrated that doesnt mean that i dont think that its rly good, i just feel as tho it didnt take much for them to accomplush like MOP or AJFA did |
Favorite-Ride The Lightning: Because it is awesome, and even the so called album fillers are incredible.
Least Favorite-St. Anger:It was so many mistakes, but still it's acceptable. Most Overated-Master of Puppets: all the people always compare all their work with MOP.And it's wrong. Most Underrated-Load:It's a good album, but most of the "fans" make it look like a piece of crap. |
I thought this was cool that i learned a few days ago, James recorded all of the guitars on nothing else matters, all the guitars on this track are him, i got this from my So What Book: The Officail Metallica Chronicles. I learned that Michael Kamen, the conductor in S&M didnt want the symphony to play the cover Song So What becuz of the lyrics, if u hav red them they are rly raunchy but us metal heds luv that sh*t(i got this from the S&M DVD).

Kirk used his chops from blues and Jimi Hendrix's playing on this album which i thought sounded wicked like the bleeding me or carpe diem baby(relaod) solos |

it shows a lot of variety and a different scent of heaviness(2X4), also it has very good lyrics(Until it Sleeps,King Nothing, The house Jack Built, Mama Said,The Outlaw Torn) and also cool melodic tunes, people should recognize it as an album not just as something different and inferior to MOP(here the use of MOP overating system) |
Least Favorite-St. Anger:It was so many mistakes, but still it's acceptable.
I believe that St. Anger is a good album, it is Metallica's worst album but that doesn't mean that its a bad album because all of their other albums are fantastic, and i think people need to give them more credit for that album. It had been like 8 or 9 years (i dont know) since their last studio album, so for them to comeback and make their best album ever is a big task. |

I think that the songs are great on St. Anger, its just that the songs are too long, and for me, it gets a bit repetetive |
never said it was bad, it's just my least favorite
and also i just think that they could made that album better with a little patience.
yeah, but i can understand how they really wanted to get back into doing what they love and getting it done so that they could go on tour. maybe it was just a stepping stone to even greater music.............hopefully |
Patience? They spent two years working on it, and spent almost 100% of the time working on it.
|
But a year of that was waiting for james to get out of rehab.
|
But a year of that was waiting for james to get out of rehab.
6 months, and it wasn't like they completely haulted either. |

no way. watch some kind of monster and he was gone for almost a year. |
no way. watch some kind of monster and he was gone for almost a year.
Ahhh, ya got me. 11 months. Still, that's a good amount of time to work on an album, and like I said they didn't just stop everything and wait for James. |

Really? What did they do when James was in rehab? I know that they did that song with Ja Rule  and Swiss Beats  , but i didn't know they did anything else. |
Patience? They spent two years working on it, and spent almost 100% of the time working on it.
yes patience: they mix up many of their time with other activities, searching a bassist preparing the skom documental , rehab, photo shoots. |
I bought S&M and I thought it was excellent. The only downside is no sanitarium or fade to black. Also No songs from KEA, I guess it was just too thrashy for the symphony.
i definately agree there...i think that fade to black should've replaced bleeding me (although i like the s&m version of it, i think fade to black would've been better)...but i'm trying to think of a song that coul've been done instead (unless they did it along with the other songs) i also think it would've been cool if they did orion in the 2nd half of the concert...ya know, their two best instrumentals (imo) in the same concert, one in each half, i think that would've been bada$$. :thumb: |
S&M is missing Fade To Black and Creeping death, They didnt do a single song off of KOA and only 2 songs off of RTL (Ktulu, For whom)
Fade to black is such an amazing song, and one of James's favorites, im suprised they didnt perform it. And to burtonbassist, they will never, ever perform orion live, nor have they ever as far as I know. Following reasons: -cliff's bass solo, its awsome, they want to keep it as his -3 guitars to make it soung good -if they ****ed it up everyone would hate them |

I've never heard Orion live either...
|
On top of that... Orion, to me, is electric guitars and bass in perfect harmony. Its a testament to what they can create. To bring another element (ie, orchestra) in would destroy that balance.

Don't know if i ever posted in this forum before but if I have then you'll read the same thing again...
My oppinion about metallica the first 5 albums where great Kill em all is my favorite album. But after Nothing else matters - I don't like this song because it's far to peacefull and i don't like the music. Then after that the album Load came out. THere was one good song on it and also one of my favorites. I'm talking about Ain't my bitch - it has a little rock n roll tune in it. Then REload came out. I thaught that the songs coulnd't get worser but they did. Now it did Fuel is a great song such as The memory remains and unforgiven 2 . The rest is just not my taste. Then they brought out theyr cover album whit great songs on it. Whole album is great. But after that to my opinion they mad ea big mistake. TRowing all that symphony into theyr best songs(most of the songs then :P ) and after that they brought out st anger. Well Frantic is a little bit of nice song and that song scores the highest of the whole album. If you ask me they should have stayed to Speed and TRash metal. So yes i'm a great metallica fan but more of the first 5 albums. Then another thing Metallica is the richest band in the world and st. anger sells the best. Ok what the hell is going on here? st anger is hardly metal wich theyr name stands for. They get (in euro's ) 2,50 for each st anger cd sold. well if you ask me a lot of lunatics most live on this planet then. But hey that's my opinion. MEtallica is one of my favorite bands but there are other bands that i like better so that was my speech for now :P |
i listened to st.anger a few times now andi must conclude that reload is a less good album
load is beter tho |
Reload was ok, fuel, the memory remains and fixxxer are sweet but load was excellent :)
|
I thought reload was just boring.
|
I got a question, What are you expecting from a new metallica album? Not what do you want it to be, what do you think it will be like, where will they go from St. Anger?
More rock and roll? more thrashy? Get even worse? |
I thought reload was just boring.
