After hardcore studying, do something mindless for a half hour.

For a test, never study 2-3 hours before hand- you'll do worse.

I think those are like "facts".. but something that works for me, is do something you know how to do (like walk, play a rock beat on your drums) and recite the information.

yeah it helps me a lot to take a break and just play a simple beat for about 10 minutes in between studying

Yeah she plays everything GREAT. Plays Symphony X stuff, dream theater all of that you name it she can play it.
