The digital camera one with "across the universe" was pretty upsetting, but the "we are the champions" bit with the viagra was just tragic

Yea but "We Are the Champions" has been ruined countless times before.

Rock and Roll on the Cadillac commercials is getting a little bit old now.
the ox is my favorite song from early who. anyone else like the who by numbers album though? dreaming from the waist is one of my favorite songs, if only for johns awesome basslines. he continually improved until he died. it was amazing.
I like that album a lot, especially the "Blue, Red, and Gray"

Walrus Gumboot 02-17-2005 07:37 PM

Sure is. I just feel bad for those kids who hear that song for the first time on that commercial and can't listen to it without thinking of caddies

ugh. people in my school often refer to it as "that cadillac song." as in "this band sounds like the ones that do that cadillac song." i have a fun time. beating them. with a wiffle ball bat.

Broken Arrow 02-17-2005 07:42 PM

Wrapped in barbed wire?

MalcolmYoungRock 02-17-2005 07:43 PM

"Jesus this, Moses that, Abraham hit me with a wiffle ball bat"

Walrus Gumboot 02-17-2005 07:43 PM

I love the ones that say: "Led Zeppelin... yeah he's the guy who wrote Stairway to Heaven, right!?"

lunch998 02-17-2005 07:45 PM
I love the ones that say: "Led Zeppelin... yeah he's the guy who wrote Stairway to Heaven, right!?"
Or you get the "Led Zeppelin, isn't he really good at guitar?"
I love the ones that say: "Led Zeppelin... yeah he's the guy who wrote Stairway to Heaven, right!?"
We tricked a kid once into thinking that eric clapton wrote stairway to heaven

lunch998 02-17-2005 08:01 PM
ooh, ooh, I got one. The kids who think Sunshine of Your Love is Cocaine and vice-versa
No, that wasn't a good one at all. Man, now I'm embarassed for both of us.

Just joking. I've run into people that think Cocaine was a Cream song and the Sunshine of Your Love was an Eric Clapton solo song.

MalcolmYoungRock 02-17-2005 08:01 PM

Yep. To JBG

ledpoisoning27 02-17-2005 08:25 PM

2+2=chair is from a comiedian i forgot, who though.

jpj 02-17-2005 08:58 PM

I'm listening to Apostrophe now and so far it's awesome, but I'm surprised at how short the songs are. The songs on Hot Rats are all long.

thickasabrick 02-17-2005 08:59 PM

I actually had a girl say to me (while I'm wearing a Zeppelin shirt), "Oh Led Zeppelin, he's soo hot, I love him." I didn't even bother to correct her...I just never spoke to her again.

And I got in an argument with someone because they were trying to convince everyone in our class that Van Halen wrote Stairway to Heaven.

Isn't it strange how The Beatles is abnormally fun to play on guitar? If I am going to play music from any well known band...it always ends up being the Beatles. I figured out how to play Octopus's Garden a few days ago and I haven't stopped since. What are you opinions (realizing not everyone plays guitar).

jpj 02-17-2005 09:05 PM

When I sent you The Deep End did you get 13 tracks?

Jam2Me 02-17-2005 09:09 PM

I was listening to Grateful Dead once and a kid I was bringing home said, "What is this crap? It sounds like those five old guys...what's that band called?" I took a couple guesses of five member bands, then said The Beatles which was probably the only band he had ever heard of from a similar era, that's who he was thinking of. It's kinda funny how if someone said they sound alike to me I would slap them while others truly think they all sound the same. I guess some of us are just so much better then others ;)

Seafroggys 02-17-2005 10:07 PM

I just don't talk about classic rock much at school, so I rarely come into problems with ignorance. Once I had a "Led Zeppelin, he's okay" comment, but not very much. The other day I was asking a friend of mine who I should interview for my senior paper, and he suggested "roger...oh, what's his name, the lead singer from pink floyd," which is understandable, and I don't really count that as classic rock ignorance.

Well, was she hot?

jpj 02-17-2005 10:10 PM

One of my friends made fun of me for my Jimi Hendrix shirt :( It's really cool looking too. It's got him playing guitar and he's all different colors than down at the bottom it says 1967.

That's no worse than when ignorant rock kids say that all rap sounds the same.
