I've been listening to Workingman's Dead lately (I'm trying to cover "Cumberland Blues"). And I realized that this is one of the few perfect (IMO) albums I have ever heard. Which would hold a position that Dr. John's Gris-gris and Calexico's Convict Pool also hold.
Do any of you have albums that you think are perfect (as in every song is fantastic and definitely 5/5)?
i would say the only perfect albums ive heard are wish you where here by pink floyd (not dark side because of "on the run") and Machine Head by deep purple comes really close to being perfect same with Whos Next The doors Velvet Underground and nico Let it bleed |
On the run couldnt be better to be on DSOTM. Its the best example of what the album represents 'the troubles of the world enough to drive you insane'.
anyway, mine are DSOTM WYWH LZIV Sgt Peppers Moving Pictures -open for AIM music swaping :) |

no. In fact, im trying to match the effects on my guitar. Of course, its near impossibe to match, but playin it without the album isnt to bad. You just need a ****load of effects and a slide

You can give yourself an E-handjob.
Or you can hang out with the always-popular Jill. Or you can listen to classic rock, which is why we're in this thread. |
Yeah, we got incredibly off-topic there. So...
Who likes the Doobie Brothers? |

I never really cared enough to listen to them. Never jumped out at me.

Who likes the Doobie Brothers?
i love the doobie brothers, especially the singer, and the way the guitar sounds its just incredible. I really like that 70s radio pop rock kind of stuff, really catchy. |
Which singer?
I'd say McDonald had the best voice, but they were all good. Each had his own style. The guitar tone is awesome. |
Hahaha

And he can't even spell that.... /shamed. |
you know your life is insignificant when you bash classic rock and it's followers.
|
so who here is entering the prog metal competition?
|
My favourite Doobie Brothers song is probably China Grove or Listen to the Music.
You know you smoke a lot of pot when your name is the Doobie Brothers, and one of your songs is called "Listen to the Music." I tell people to do that all the time when I'm baked. My chemistry teachers favourite band is the Doobie Brothers, unfortunately I hate his guts so I refuse to discuss them with him. edit- Oh ya and The Doors of the 21st Century are coming to a nearby city in July. I'm going. I don't care what anyone says about "it not being the same about Jim Morrison," of course it isn't...but he wasn't the entire band. |
Yeah, but there's a dropoff, there's a huge dropoff, and then there's going from Jim Morrison to the guy from The Cult.
|

I don't mind The Cult. I'd go to a Cult concert. Why not go to a concert that also features Ray Manzarek, John Densmore, and Robbie Krieger. |
