Okay guys I'm dissapointed in you all...especially you regulars...this is the Metallica thread...is there nothing better to talk about other then their sex lifes?
seriusly this is very...umm gay? yea that's the word

enough with this cruddy spaming and gay topics.

New album?

Jev 12-19-2005 11:53 AM

What about it?
I doubt much progress has been made since yesterday.

Britton 12-19-2005 11:56 AM

No I meant what do you all think about it? you might have discussed it already...but that's probably about 100 pages back and I don't want to sift through all the pointless spam about Metallica's sex life...

So what are you all expecting from it? another St. Anger? some sort of retro thrash? something along the lines of 90's Metallica (God I hope not)

Jev 12-19-2005 12:00 PM

I'm think more Load-ish. It'd be interesting if it turned out completely different, Like Pop-Punk or something.

I would buy a gun and shoot myself...

I hope it's another St. Anger....I like Metallica trying drop D I can't wait to hear
Rob playing...it would be cool if he gets some solo's in there

I also want a intrumental song on this album

i haven't heard much off Saint Anger, but i like the title track. i hope Rob does some of the song-writing on this album.

i'd be happy if they went back to Load / ReLoad style stuff, i quite like those albums.

Jev 12-19-2005 12:38 PM

It's good to hear that Rob will actually play on this one :p

Josh 12-19-2005 01:03 PM

yeh. hell, with Rob playing, they could go funk metal :p

Kyle 12-19-2005 01:07 PM

I really like Load and Re-Load aswell, It would be cool to hear more of that style. I'm not really sure what I want from them, I'll just wait and see what they have to offer.

yeh, it's no good hoping it's one kind of music and then finding out it's completely different, we'll just have to wait and see. i don't really dislike any of their material so far anyway, so as long as it's not pop...

timmySmi 12-19-2005 01:16 PM

Rob has actually stated he prefers the old stuff so Iam sure he'll try and encourage them to go back to there roots for a few songs.

good! back to the good old stuff hopefully then. but i'm keeping an open mind as to what exactly it'll be.

Jev 12-19-2005 01:17 PM

Britton 12-19-2005 02:12 PM

Josh 12-19-2005 02:43 PM

Romencer17 12-19-2005 02:53 PM

Wow. I'm glad I left Musician Forums early yesterday.

Doctor Night 12-19-2005 03:08 PM

The second disc is the best.

DaveTheAmazing 2.0 12-19-2005 03:41 PM
The second disc is the best.
I beg to differ. From disc one, I like:
Turn the Page,
Die, Die My Darling,
Loverman,
Mercyful Fate,
Astromony,
Whiskey in the Jar,
Tuesday's Gone.

From Disc Two, I like:

Breadfan.

I just feel disc one is the better disc.

Doctor Night 12-19-2005 04:05 PM

Whiskey in the Jar

For Whom The Bell Tolls, cos, it's the first one I ever heard.

Romencer17 12-19-2005 05:54 PM

Prince Charming. One of the first songs I ever heard by them.

GenuineImitation 12-19-2005 05:59 PM

Enter Sandman was the first Metallica song I have ever heard. That song made me get the Black Album and Master of Puppets. At the time, I liked the Black Album more, but that was when I listened to mainly rock and punk.

Romencer17 12-19-2005 06:04 PM

Reload was the first Metallica album I ever heard. Then it was Master Of Puppets, St. Anger, and Black Album. and now I got a few other like S&M.

One is much better. Enter Sandman is good, but cannot be compared with One.

Stormrider 12-19-2005 06:07 PM

MoP was my first album, but I lost it. Well i lost the cd case it was in. Then came Kill Em All, Ride the lightning and the black album. I want AJFA which I only get from my bro when I feel like listing to it. Ill get it eventualy...Its just that theres stuff that goes before AJFA on my list of cd's.

For One, The Land mine, has taken my life part is the best part of the song IMO.

I killed the thread....

Thats why i liked it better and also its more heavy and i like heavy better.

Romencer17 12-19-2005 06:26 PM

I never really liked One, but since you guys say its really good, I'm listening to it right now.

the order was KEA, RTL, MOP, AJFA, then black or was that the order you were going to buy them in?:smash:

Romencer17 12-19-2005 06:28 PM

I think he got them in that order. Most people know that MoP wasn't the first Metallica album.

Stormrider 12-19-2005 06:30 PM
the order was KEA, RTL, MOP, AJFA, then black or was that the order you were going to buy them in?:smash:
Nope..order i bought them in was MoP, KEM then S/T and RTL at the same time.

Romencer17 12-19-2005 06:32 PM

Would S/T be St. Anger? I can't think of any Metallica (almost wrote Meatallica there. Gives me laughs) that fit S/T.

Stormrider 12-19-2005 06:34 PM

Self titled sorry.

Romencer17 12-19-2005 06:36 PM

Oh. Hey people, I can't decide. Should I stick with this Xmas Gene Simmons avatar, or go back to the Roger Waters one?
