 Genius.

The date will probably go well. She said if the coffee date goes well, she'll let me take her to a movie. So if I report back afterwards and say, "we're going to a movie next time", you'll know I didn't fail.

Good luck with your endeavour, my good sir.

Captain Jack Sparrow 02-25-2005 05:14 AM

Much thanks. I need to go read a bit more of the Communist Manifesto and then I'm going to watch the Stepford Wives remake and see if it's as good as the original. Peace.

Captain Jack Sparrow 02-25-2005 07:22 AM

Well, Stepford Wives was mediocre.

I got ISS today......I'm gonna be so bored
Well, Stepford Wives was mediocre.
What parts didn't you like? I thought the ending was a great twist, although I must admit I haven't seen the original.

Captain Jack Sparrow 02-25-2005 07:37 AM

The ending was good, but the movie in general was just sub-par. It didn't really pick up anywhere, it just stayed monotone. One minute Nicole Kidman (who I would bone in a heartbeat) is an angsty housewife, and then she's an angsty houswife uncovering a robot scheme, and then she's an angsty houswife again, and then she's a happy housewife. Matthew Broderick had a terribly insignificant role in the film, and considering it was supposed to be a comedy.. I really only laughed twice. Meh.

jpj 02-25-2005 07:38 AM

I forget how it ended, but I do remeber that it wasn't very good.

Captain Jack Sparrow 02-25-2005 07:42 AM

Oh, the gay couple was cute. Well, the "wife" of the two of them was. The other one was meh. But Richard? (I think?) was very do-able.

Yes, Matt was terribly ignored. The ending irked me in that everything was all fine again, despite the fact the women had lost their bodies to become robots, and as such, were still robots! How does that work?

Oh, and for all you Dargon fans:

Well, they only had microchips implanted in their brains which were destroyed when Matt screwed with the super computer.

Riva 02-25-2005 07:53 AM

Then how do they dispense the money?

Captain Jack Sparrow 02-25-2005 07:53 AM

Now that is a very good question. Now the movie makes no sense.

Riva 02-25-2005 08:02 AM

Now that I have planted that disturbing thought into your brain, I shall bid you all goodnight.

munky_magik 02-25-2005 08:05 AM

Bartender 02-25-2005 09:22 AM

Hello everyone.

I'm very slowly catching up on what went on here last night in another browser, so I have little to say for now.

munky_magik 02-25-2005 09:23 AM

So you use one browser for posting and one to catch up?

Bartender 02-25-2005 09:28 AM

Sometimes. Sometimes I just don't post for ages while I catch up on big threads.

Kingofdudes 02-25-2005 09:38 AM

Hey Bartender, can we get a report users/bad review thread in the CD review forum?

Bartender 02-25-2005 09:42 AM

Isn't that what the errors/feedback threads are for?

Kingofdudes 02-25-2005 09:49 AM
Isn't that what the errors/feedback threads are for?
Well I though feedback was for improvements, and errors was for coding errors and what not.

Besides, no one even checks them anymore

Bartender 02-25-2005 09:50 AM

I just checked it today actually, deleted a few reported things. But yeah, we can make a new, separate thread if you like.

gmoneyguy 02-25-2005 09:51 AM

I hate the canturbury tales.

Bartender 02-25-2005 09:53 AM

Why's that then?
I just checked it today actually, deleted a few reported things. But yeah, we can make a new, separate thread if you like.
Oh that was you?

I think you deleted the wrong RTL review...

This was the one that came up wrong
http://sputnikmusic.com/album.php?reviewid=1880&genreid=0

well since I got your attention, maybe you should delete this..

Bartender 02-25-2005 09:56 AM

Hmm. Well that's not good. I just deleted the one linked to with "so can someone please delete this".

gmoneyguy 02-25-2005 10:38 AM

I didn't know it was possible to get heart burn when you have not ate anything all day.

The Roots of the Olive Tree

The history of Palestine and Israel is a long and turbulent one. After thoroughly studying this regions current and past history, I honestly believe that the root cause of the Israeli/Palestinian conflict lies in a struggle over land, and not the common belief that prejudice is the main cause.

The current Intifada (Intifada is an Arabic word, which means “Revolution,” it is commonly used in journalism to describe the current conflict), has killed thousands of Palestinians and hundreds of Israelis. The Palestinians strike with suicide bombs, guerilla warfare, and stones (as in, rocks), and the Israelis strike back tenfold the force with tanks, guns and heavy hitting artillery. The Israeli IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) have killed about 2000 Palestinians, demolished Palestinians homes, and uprooted olive trees (the national crop/plant, and the number one source of income for Palestinian farmers). Bizarre and sick war crimes have been committed against Palestinians, such as tying a little boy to the hood of a car as a shield, starving and harsh beating of Palestinian prisoners (ironic, seeing how Israel is meant to be the only Democracy in the Middle East, and is supposed to set an example in prisons), shooting at women in children, fabricating Palestinian bombing stories, rape of Palestinian women, and numerous other atrocities that have been outlined by the Human Rights Watch.

What would one think when they see such terror on both sides of these ancient races? How can one even began to find a solution to the perishing of these people? Where would one look, which would one, look to? After reading on numerous websites, the only proposed solution that is feasible is a single state, secular democracy. Let us look at the facts.
First, the Palestinians are not leaving anytime soon. There is a population of about 3 million Palestinians, and over 4 million Israeli citizens, excluding the 2 million Palestinian refuges outside of the state of Israel. Secondly, the Israelis won’t leave either, for obvious reasons. The only way this country will work is for a single state solution, in which, the moniker Israel becomes Israelstine, Palesrael, or simply a combination of names that the opposing cultures can agree on (which is highly doubtful they can reach a conclusion due to their shoddy histories together). (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Palestine 24 Feb 2005)

The Palestinians and the Israelis must replant the olive tree, the olive tree of hope. With this seed they bear, they can start a new, brighter future. With this olive tree, they can, in harmony, feed the generations to come, with knowledge, food, and love. This olive tree seed can help stop this abhorrence, this animosity for Jews and Arabs alike. With this seed, they can start a new future where Jerusalem is a leading international center in the world where people from all religions, all ethnicities and all cultures are accepted and loved; treated as one.
Hopefully we can plant this seed of love together, as one nation.
