what exactly are In Flames like?

kurrpt 04-14-2006 01:03 PM

hmmm...

interesting question Josh. the rhythm progressions are more complicated than most. The lyrics change up very nice. A little emo-ish "angst" at times, but i dont take it to heart.

Che: Soundtrack's a great album, but you should seriously check out the older stuff son :).

Josh: If you've heard any of the newer American bands who have pretty cool guitarwork, but keep ending up sounding generic and corny, you've got the basic gist... except they don't suck, and thus don't end up sounding generic and corny.

I think their sound is pretty unique. But then again I haven't heard much Gothenburg stuff.

They have amazing melodies. I wish I could write like them.

Almost every Gothenburg band I've heard has been very unique in their own aspects... they have a similar style, but they all sound so different (minus Darkest Hour and At The Gates who sound nearly exactly the same but are still two of my favorite bands).

Josh 04-14-2006 01:08 PM

i might have to check out In Flames then, i'll see if any of their stuff has gone out in the Daily Upload recently i think.

EDIT: found a link for Whoracle, i'm getting it now :)

Never really got into them away from the live setting. I have seen them live twice now though, good fun both times.

NP:Claude Debussy - Etudes pour Piano - 5. In octaves

Shred Danson 04-14-2006 01:12 PM

Whoa.

I just found out I'm related to one of my best friends.

Trippy.

I don't know why, but whenever I hear Anders speaking I just want to laugh.

The worst band you will ever hear.

In other news, the Drummers poll is shaping upto be pathetic, and if Neil Peart doesn't win i will leave the forums.

Not actually joking.

Josh 04-14-2006 01:14 PM

Trev: well done, generally most bands are. apart from yours :p :p

EDIT: 'sup Joe. long time no see.

i am the robots 04-14-2006 01:14 PM

The drummer poll is getting really bad... freaking so few votes for Thomas Corn... freaking John Bonham did better than him!

if i wanted to be really annoying, i could say your band doesn't sound like music to me because i've never heard any of it :p

Joe: got any more recordings done lately?

PinkFreud 04-14-2006 01:22 PM

Please. You guys can't be surprised with the way the polls are going. Maybe it's just my poor seperating skills but there's always a favorite. Peart'll likely win though.

Dunno. I can see Danny Carey winning...

Prince of Darkness 04-14-2006 01:26 PM

Yo peeps.

Listen here. I've got a song I want to upload for you guys. I really think you'll like. it's not rock or Metal, but it's kinda progressive 80's pop. Yep, Frankie Goes To Hollywood. You know them as the guys who wrote Relax and War, but I don't want to give you want you already know. They have this 14-minute song on their debut album(proggy for a pop band?). I want to give this to you guys. This is really a good song and imo, if you like Pink Floyd, you'll like this.

Should I upload it? It's up to you guys.(it's 18mb)

Yes, I couldn't resist the reference :p.

Of course. "I haven't heard the others...." Well I suggested some goddam songs for you to listen to for most of them. Jesus.

Flower Dance, yeah, maybe. But so far in the first round, Peart has had the most votes for him by far. We shall see. It'll probably be a tossup between those two, Bonham, and maybe Portnoy.

That kid came up to me today and I was like "hey man, what's goin' on", and he was reluctant at first but I was just being friendly...and he starts to fricken' slap me! What the hell? What's wrong with people?

Jev 04-14-2006 01:34 PM

Haha I'd vote for Portnoy.

I'd die if Ulrich won.
What? What a fag.
Yeah, he just wants me to kick the crap out of him for some reason. I don't have a problem with him but he keeps fricken' slapping me and shit, heh.

ZOMG I GET MY TATTOO TODAY!

Jev 04-14-2006 01:40 PM

Happy slapping?
