The highs are still high (Sons of Cain, Bomb.Repeat.Bomb., A Bottle of Buckie) but the lows are very low (The Lost Bridage). Also its a really long album.
Somewhere in between a 3 and a 3.5. Get Hearts of Oak or Shake The Sheets before this. |
I've got them both already. I'll get around to that one sooner or later, then.
|
Its worth a listen.

anyone who likes the new Wilco is an old man. That's all there is to it. I heard "What Light" or whatever it's called, and I've never heard a more dull piece of music. Absolutely not hyperbole. It's like a beige sunset that you can't even see because you're trapped in a beige room.

matchbox twenty - beige
|
Atleast That's What You Said or whatever it's called is the only track that ever remotely stood out to me in all their blandness.
|
Islaja - Palaa Aurinkoon
Josephine Foster - A Wolf in Sheep's Clothing |

I just saw a live performance by Sigur Ros, Im digging it, unbelievable live band!
|
Um,
The Futureheads - News & Tributes The Raconteurs - Broken Boy Soldiers Both average as hell, except for the singles. |
I just managed to find the African Way Tour mixtape from a couple years ago, and it's pretty bangin. I've also been listening to Tom Waits pretty much non-stop for a little while, primarily Nighthawks and Small Change.

Getting the entire Zombies discog is going to make them my #1 for awhile, it appears. Sooo good. I'm really digging this Marissa Nadler too, sortof a harpless Joanna Newsom.
Did you get a boxset, download it, or? I have Odessey & Oracle and Begin Here but I need more. |

Today's listenun's will be-ah:
Avey Tare & Kria Brekken - Pullhair Rubeye Dungen - Tio Bitar Various Artists - Psychedelic Phinland: Finnish Hippie & Underground Music 1967-1974 The Field - From Here We Go To Sublime New Dungen is pretty good, I think I would like this band more if all their stuff was instrumental. Less to do with the whole language barrier, more to do with I think the guy's voice is kinda eh. Pullhair Rubeye is up and down, there are some great songs (I really like the unreversed, pitch shifted version of "Sasong") but it's got that whole caveat working against it. I dunno. |
Unwound - Leaves Turn Inside You
Wolf Parade - Apologies to the Queen Mary Got the Unwound because of the listening party. Good stuff. |
yeah same actually i never finished listening to that cd. Look A Ghost is sweeeet
|
Stars - Perfect Place To Hideaway
Michio Kurihara slays me. |
Kraftwerk - The Man Machine
Mr Bungle - Disco Volante |
Yeah, well I just found out about Flipper just recently. Absolute great stuff.
When I climbed the Eiffel Tower I found some Flipper graffitti. I got some pictures, I might upload them later. They Might Be Giants - Apollo 18 Elliott Smith - Figure 8 |
Panda Bear - Person Pitch
Early standout for album of the year, Good Girl/Carrots, Bro's and Ponytail are my favorite tracks. |
Pulp - Different Class
How good is Common People. Srsly. I've got $20 to spend at HMV, someone tell me which Pulp record I should pick up next. |
