The highs are still high (Sons of Cain, Bomb.Repeat.Bomb., A Bottle of Buckie) but the lows are very low (The Lost Bridage). Also its a really long album.

Somewhere in between a 3 and a 3.5. Get Hearts of Oak or Shake The Sheets before this.

La Revolucion 03-19-2007 05:36 PM

I've got them both already. I'll get around to that one sooner or later, then.

Zmev 03-19-2007 05:37 PM

Its worth a listen.

The Frugal Gourmet 03-19-2007 07:52 PM

anyone who likes the new Wilco is an old man. That's all there is to it. I heard "What Light" or whatever it's called, and I've never heard a more dull piece of music. Absolutely not hyperbole. It's like a beige sunset that you can't even see because you're trapped in a beige room.

YDload 03-19-2007 07:55 PM

matchbox twenty - beige

Luxor 03-19-2007 08:13 PM

Atleast That's What You Said or whatever it's called is the only track that ever remotely stood out to me in all their blandness.

Eliminator 03-19-2007 08:21 PM

Um,

The Futureheads - News & Tributes
The Raconteurs - Broken Boy Soldiers

Both average as hell, except for the singles.

JonM 03-20-2007 08:05 AM

I just managed to find the African Way Tour mixtape from a couple years ago, and it's pretty bangin. I've also been listening to Tom Waits pretty much non-stop for a little while, primarily Nighthawks and Small Change.

Today's listenun's will be-ah:

Avey Tare & Kria Brekken - Pullhair Rubeye
Dungen - Tio Bitar
Various Artists - Psychedelic Phinland: Finnish Hippie & Underground Music 1967-1974
The Field - From Here We Go To Sublime

New Dungen is pretty good, I think I would like this band more if all their stuff was instrumental. Less to do with the whole language barrier, more to do with I think the guy's voice is kinda eh. Pullhair Rubeye is up and down, there are some great songs (I really like the unreversed, pitch shifted version of "Sasong") but it's got that whole caveat working against it. I dunno.

The Jungler 03-20-2007 01:02 PM

Unwound - Leaves Turn Inside You
Wolf Parade - Apologies to the Queen Mary

Got the Unwound because of the listening party. Good stuff.

perriwinkle 03-20-2007 01:16 PM

pixiesfanyo 03-20-2007 01:25 PM

When I climbed the Eiffel Tower I found some Flipper graffitti. I got some pictures, I might upload them later.

They Might Be Giants - Apollo 18
Elliott Smith - Figure 8

The Jungler 03-20-2007 02:27 PM

Panda Bear - Person Pitch

Early standout for album of the year, Good Girl/Carrots, Bro's and Ponytail are my favorite tracks.

Glitterati 03-20-2007 02:34 PM

How good is Common People. Srsly.
