ajig, just do what i did at a Phish show. You'd be amazed how many people that are actually looking to sell tickets the day of the show. Amazed me because it was sold out, and we got 2 separate tickets in less than 30 minutes

Adam Jones is GOD 03-23-2006 09:27 AM

No im not bothered bout getting seating, more I think about it the better it seems actually, as Tool shows are a visual experience more than anything. Plus Download festival a few days earlier I can be standing anywhere I want :)

kurrpt 03-23-2006 10:00 AM

yea, i really wouldnt know about that :upset:

JamJar 03-23-2006 10:24 AM

I got standing :). I am psyched. Maiden and Tool.

the2stranger 03-23-2006 10:29 AM

I'm going to be seeing Tool in the beginning of June, woohoo.
I've waited a long time for this :)

I've only been into Tool for two years so my wait hasn't quite been as horribly long.

kurrpt 03-23-2006 10:33 AM

well, ive been into them since 96, and i have YET to see em :upset:

I've been fan since uh 2001, I've seen them once, although not much :(
They were perforoming in a very corwded tent, and I couldn't get in :(
the pain!!
I will see them from up close this time though.

Funny how everyone remembers when they got in to them.

Prince of Darkness 03-23-2006 11:40 AM

If Tool play in New York or London in December, I am to see them.

What are my chances?

clearvision 03-23-2006 12:34 PM
All standing tickets gone :(

Least i've got seating tickets I guess. Little annoying though
OMFG.

/Cries.

I'm f'cking angry at that actually. I had no idea when they went on sale, and i'm checking toolband every day. I feel pretty let down by tool tbh :( I might just go to download, when do day tickets go on sale?

EDIT : OH BEN CALM DOWN!
To be honest, Creator, I completely agree with Kage. I enjoy almost all of your posts, EC; they're nearly always constructive and provide conversation topics. However, as soon as you got up on the soapbox you started coming across as a pretentious dick. And you NEED to hang out with ignorant Tool fanboys, because they are the reason why so many people HATE Tool fans. And honestly, that's the way you're coming across now, as a fanboy who overanalyzes everything.
I think you're right, man. Seriously.. :thumb:

I don't want to have to go into defending Tool, and their meaning or whatever, in fear that I *will* come across as one of those annoying Tool fans..

So, I tell you what Kage. Let's just agree that there are some things that can be looked into, and there are some things that would seem dumb to try. Neither of us is wrong, it's just two views from two sides of the tracks..

My original intent was simple, but I was called out on it and that's what started this mess. Let's just accept a thought, and opinion, and make decisions for ourselves..

Thanks for the kick in the groin, bwnstl. I needed that. I'll be sure to add some two cents, and just lay back.. :thumb:

But for future reference, before people go off and call others out over a thought or opinion think before doing so. The persons original intent could have been completely simple without the rebutting hand..

EDIT:
So, there's still no word for a US tour yet..? (besides Coachella)

Ah! I'm here taking courses at North Harris Montgomery Community College, and then transferring to a University..
Not sure which university just yet, but I'm looking to major in Visual Communications..

What about you..?

Well, considering the average age of MXers is closer to 15 than 20, (maturity wise moreso than physical age) I'd say theres more of a chance of getting a purely emotional response to opinions rather than intelligent debate or discussion. Im older than your average mxer, but I've just come to accept that most of our younger guys will type before they think. That's all I meant by welcome to MX.

I see..! My apologies by the quip remark.. :chug:

And for the most part you are right. We probably just need to find a balance for both. Until then, I'll keep my flame gear on :smoke:

Well, it's not a necessarily untrue remark.
Sure, not everything they made has a meaning behind it (i.e. Hooker with a Penis, or Hush) these songs can be taken very literally. Yet, you have songs like Lateralus, Swamp Song, The Grudge, 46+2 and Schism which can have gigantic meanings (and are indeed masterpieces)..
Actually The Grudge is just about as up front as Hooker with a Penis and Hush. What he is trying to say in it isn't much of a brain teaser, and just because these songs are more to the point and less complex doesn't mean that they aren't as significant as others. It sounds to me like you are saying that just because songs like The Grudge and Hush are more literal that they don't have a meaning behind them and aren't as good as something more intricate like Schism or Parabola.

borisdablade 03-24-2006 02:15 AM

Yer liek every tool song is SOOO deep and meeningful, it blows my mind! Liek that song useful idiot works on SOOO many levels, and hooker with a penis is really a metaphor for liek the heart chakra's manifestation in the form of a phallus...which HAS to be true cause i red it in some tool forum. :smash:

horseypie 03-24-2006 03:36 AM

And, like then, we got a tool fan in here who just listens to the music.

I paniced and went for pre-sale. All the pre sale standing were gone, but the more I think about it, the better seating gets, as im too old for any sort of pit (ok, just standing around getting swamped by kids younger and much taller than me).

Im wondering bout this second night though, whether they're holding back until this one sells out, or just not announcing it yet.

EDIT: And on checking ticket availbility again today, all standing tickets for public sale seem to have gone. Im guessing it'll be sold out by Sunday

clearvision 03-24-2006 10:38 AM

I'm still absolutley gutted about it :( I have exams on the 14th and 15th...

I'm considering a day ticket for download. Or I may just wait and hope they come back next year like they did in 2001/2002.

I had a dream about it last night :-/...They played an extended stinkfist, a new track and reflection. I missed the other songs because i was having trouble with the security and they kept throwing me out of the venue lol...coming to think about it, it was more of a nightmare :(

Adam Jones is GOD 03-24-2006 12:35 PM

Sorry to hear that Rob, ill try and sneak my friends digi camera in, and get some video. Well, ill let them try it at least, no way im getting ejected for a gig.

And im even more happy now as I now have standing tickets for the wednesday :)

STANDING ALL THE WAY

Esoteric_Creator 03-24-2006 03:33 PM

You know you've been longing over a album way too long the moment you have a dream about it. I had one last night..

I had the CD in my hands. It had the album art on the front, and pure white in the back. The tracklistings weren't the listings at all, but rather titles for sub-tracks. The album was a double disc..

A wet dream, indeed..

kurrpt 03-24-2006 03:35 PM

you DO realize that you cant "read" in a dream, rather your brain leads you to believe that you "read" a word?

Just stating...
you DO realize that you cant "read" in a dream, rather your brain leads you to believe that you "read" a word?

I think he qualified that by stating he had a dream, since you aren't really doing anything in a dream that you think you are, you're really just lying there.

got tool? 03-24-2006 04:04 PM

and another interesting fact is that everything within a 6 foot radius of your bathroom toilet is drenched in bacteria from your feces. Just thought i'd let you all know. :)

That's why I couldn't give any specifics in actual titles. All I remember is that the two discs were (I suppose) 10,000days and Aldaraia. The tracklistings were split in two because of the sub-tracks..

I have heard a rumor today that this may actually happen...weird. But it's a rumor, nothing more. 10,000days being the DVD, and Aldaraia being the album..

Who knows..? :shrugs:
