Me too. Actually, I was an AC/DC fanboy before I was a Zeppelin fanboy. Now I'm kinda just spread out over many bands and genres.
I got High Voltage and Zeppelin II on the same day. I'm both. |
Disconection:
I know I want it changing to just "IAJP" :upset: Thickasabrick: I feel an idea coming on, but I'll only go ahead with it if a few people will, try and name as many bands that you like more/the same as your base band, for you AC/DC for me Zepp etc. Sound good?
Go for it. |
I think about half the people on this forumthat were born '85 onwards probably started as fanboys of either Zeppelin, AC/DC, Aerosmith, or GNR.
I know i was one for Zeppelin, but i never really got into AC/DC as much, and im still looking for a good aerosmith CD
yeah. i just got the complete studio recordings of zep for x-mas. I'm not that fond of Aerosmith, probably because of steven tyler |
I was a Zeppelin fanboy.
I think, you, me and JPJ were the biggest Zepp fanboys. I'd allways talk about them, one of the only things I find fresh about them when I listen now is the rhythm section of Bonham and Jones, there are a lot better guitarists and vocalists out there than Page and Plant, ah musical tastes *sighs* |
God, I was such a fanboy :(
But that changed soon after I joined mx :) |

I got that same thing. |

I quite enjoy early Aerosmith (Rocks, Toys in the Attic).
Lunch: :( |
Now that I think about it, there are very few bands I actually enjoy listening to consistently more than Zeppelin.
|
Pink Floyd and Mule I could listen to as much as Zeppelin.
|

On behalf of Boston, I apologize. |
Zeppelin is still my favourite band. I have now realized they aren't the greatest/most talented/best selling etc etc...but I like them the best.
I gotta get ready for work. See ya guys later. |
Bands I listen to more(or like more) than Zeppelin: The Who, then just a bunch of "maybes", like Cream, Hendrix, Floyd, and the Dead.
|
Go for it.
Alrighty: The Doors, The Who, Pink Floyd, Cream, Jethro Tull, Rush, Deep Purple, Neil Young (and Buffallo Springfield of course) Grand Funk Railroad, Yes, Jefferson Airplane, The Grateful Dead, The Velvet Underground, Jimi Hendrix-both solo and with the Experience, The MC5, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Love, Queen (I'm not too sure on this one though), The Beatles, Bob Dylan, The Rollin' Stones, The Kinks, Black Sabbath, Moby Grape, The Small Faces, The Band, That's all I can think of...for now. |

Yea, some Cream, Hendrix, and Dead I like better, but I'm iffy about it.
|
I listen to Neil, Floyd and the Doors more. Maybe Jimi and CSNY??

Some fanboy you are. |
You like all them more than Zeppelin?
Not all of them, some are equal to Zepp, some are better, it's a kinda mixed in thing :) |
Deep Purple, Queen, Skynyrd, GFR? Some fanboy you are.
I've branched out, and all of them rule! |
Most of the bands you listed, I like their stuff, but not as much as Zeppelin.
|
Most of the bands you listed, I like their stuff, but not as much as Zeppelin.
Pretty much the same as me. |
EDIT: Scratch that. Robertson was talking about Nazareth, PA. Here's an article about what it means
I still bet that the influence of the bible story played a role.
And I'm sure Subterranean Homesick Blues makes sense in Bob Dylans mind...or at least it did.
"SHB" is based upon the concept of nothing ever coming out right, or working out. |

Hmm,
I just read the first page of this thread again, who do you think are fore-runners for 'modern' classic rock? The only bad I can see who isn't emo and doesn't suck are Queens Of The Stone Age, |
Gov't Mule
We previously agreed to that. |
I too was a Zeppelin fan boy and i still like them a lot i don't see why people hate them so much in this thread expect for the fact that they 'stole' their songs.
By no means do I hate them there are better undiscovered bands however. Badmoon: Ah well, is there a site I could find some stuff on them? |
I've branched out,
and all of them rule!
I've branch out a lot in the last 4 years i liked classic rock from acid rock to early punk (Velvet Underground, Iggy and the Stoogies) to folk (Bob Dylan) and i like most any bands that can be considered classic rock now of days. |
I still bet that the influence of the bible story played a role.
"SHB" is based upon the concept of nothing ever coming out right, or working out.
I think Dylan himself said it was just a string of buzzwords strung together to tell a story. |

Badmoon: Ah well, is there a site I could find some stuff on them?
yea well i was young (12), :upset: when i really got into them and o and i also was a big Pink Floyd Fanboy. |
