Posting from my new apartment :D

/stolen internet ftw

LifeInABox 08-27-2007 09:13 AM

How did you manage that?

2muchket! 08-27-2007 09:30 AM

Wireless broadband. You can nick others connections if they're not passworded.

Although it is illegal.

Anglachel 08-27-2007 09:45 AM

I love nabbing people stealing our wireless connection.

I just access my router settings and see how many computers are contacting it and if I don't recognize one I stop its internet kekeke

LifeInABox 08-27-2007 10:10 AM

Oh, right. My uncle told me about that once.

2muchket! 08-27-2007 10:14 AM

It's a pretty common occurrence really.

LifeInABox 08-27-2007 10:16 AM

Yeah, through a wi fi connection.

Kage 08-27-2007 10:58 AM

I'm a wired fan myself. Never trusted that wireless bullshit.

Shadows 08-27-2007 11:03 AM

Wireless is too unreliable. I can't count the number of times I've been unable to get online with a wireless connection even though the signal strength is supposedly an excellent 100mbps.

Deth 08-27-2007 11:38 AM

I haven't even tried getting a wireless connection yet. Maybe if I'm in the library or something, but now it's not an issue.

I have 4 hours to fill until my lab. I need something to do.

i am the robots 08-27-2007 11:59 AM

Guys, teach me to fayle moar... I just missed my first day of classes because I thought they started next week.

Ugh. My sleep schedule's so ****ed too, and I work close every night this week. So many schedule conflicts and so forth.

Lunch 08-27-2007 12:01 PM

I go to sleep around 4-5 and wake up around 2-3 these days.

i am the robots 08-27-2007 12:05 PM

That's how I am, but I have classes at 10 AM.

Deth 08-27-2007 12:08 PM

I have Calculus on MWF at 7:30 so that doesn't allow me those privileges most days.

Lunch 08-27-2007 12:09 PM

dominated

I think my earliest class this year is at like 11, which is awesome

i am the robots 08-27-2007 12:09 PM

Yeah, I officially lost my privileges last night apparently, but I didn't get the memo until just now.

TojesDolan 08-27-2007 12:16 PM

Hai I woke up this morning and I felt miserable. I think I could use a hug or something. But I feel good in my miserable misery.

So I don't know.

I listened to blackalicious this week.
I go to sleep around 4-5 and wake up around 2-3 these days.
Same with me. Fortunately MWF I don't have class until 3 so my schedule suits me perfectly.

Holy shit. Do you have a Pizza Hut on campus? Because you have been pizzoned.

Lunch 08-27-2007 12:31 PM

I find that existence around 4 am is much more peaceful and serene.

TojesDolan 08-27-2007 12:34 PM

I prefer being awake at night than being awake in the evening.

Oh yeah and update on Vince's life: My interview today sort of kicked my *** but I'm hoping I made a good enough impression to still get the job we shall see though.

If I could work with them a week I know they'd keep me on buh I hate interviews >:[

TojesDolan 08-27-2007 12:49 PM

Thanks Vince. I'll do my homeworks and see if having less preoccupations improves my crap mood.

Lunch: Yeah I will, they are great. I'll listen to doom metal for the lols.

Vince: Yeah interviews make me nervous. Especially if it's a female the interviewer.

It's the only way I could get a good professor. It works out though, I'm up and have about 3 hours free before my next class and then on TuTh I can sleep in to whenever I feel like.

welcome :)

I had 4 guys interviewing but the one guy was kinda a dick he's like "brb" comes back with a spec sheet and asks me what the device does and how it works and i'm just like...****.

That was after they were like "what's the difference between a mosfet and a bjt? and i was like um, i haven't taken that class in 2 years sorry :(

TojesDolan 08-27-2007 12:56 PM

IDK I haven't taken that class yet. >_>

But yeah I'd be like "wtf" if they asked me about op amps or some gay s‪hit like that.

Permanent Solution 08-27-2007 12:59 PM

Yeah basically the technical knowledge aspect worked me over but otherwise I think I made a good impression so we'll see.

TojesDolan 08-27-2007 01:02 PM

Probably they don't need you to know every little aspect of each electronic component ever created, just as long as you have a good idea of how to work out stuff. A teacher told us it's unnecessary to learn everything as shown in books, but the most important thing is to understand what's happening and everything else comes oput by simple deduction.

So yeah. Intelligence vs. Memorization. Hopefully it showed that you know your numberz and your phasorz.

Deth 08-27-2007 01:03 PM

It seems strange to me that they would quiz you like that during an interview.

Haha I don't really know that stuff well anymore since I don't use it much. But I'm a quick learner so that tends to be my saving grace.

Deth: Engineers care a lot about what you retain from school because they don't have time to reteach you it all.
