Hey look, it's (possibly) Rody:
Once, I **** you not, stopped mid make-out to eat a cheeseburger he had picked up from McDonald’ earlier in the day (that he made me carry around in my purse all afternoon.) Real nice guy.
KYZAR 03-05-2009 04:12 PM

I keep trying to get into PTH but the vocals annoy me SOOOO much.

Jev 03-05-2009 04:16 PM

Anyone seeing them on Monday?

Ventriloquist 03-05-2009 04:17 PM

Seeing them for the first time this saturday with The Human Abstract and The Chariot. Not a huge fan but I really like Fortress. What should I expect?

Jev 03-05-2009 04:19 PM

From what I've seen they are either awful or top notch, doesn't seem to be an in-between.

Ventriloquist 03-05-2009 04:21 PM

I've been told that The Human Abstract and The Chariot are **** live. Any comments on that?

Jev 03-05-2009 04:31 PM

They both sound boring and I will not be watching them.

Pete 03-05-2009 04:34 PM

i've only seen PtH live once, and they were amazing. flawless.

Tyler 03-05-2009 07:24 PM

PTH are usually great live, they have off nights but so does everyone. I've seen 'em more than I can count and they've very rarely disappointed.

Human Abstract is actually worse live than on record if you can believe that.

Dear god... I really might skip them then.

imperialblackness 03-05-2009 08:09 PM

Yeah Human Abstract is absolutely terrible live. I saw them at the whiskey in hollywood and after their set the singer was drinking a beer downstairs where you werent supposed to drink and the security told him to leave and he wouldnt so they literally threw him out the door haha

The Feeding 03-05-2009 09:16 PM

hahah i saw them on tour with Trivium and they were god awful, too much random guitar wankery....epic fail

alytee123 03-06-2009 05:52 AM

Seeing em Monday, looking forward to The Chariot as well as PtH.

illpressureurhinges1 03-06-2009 06:14 AM

I'm going to be seeing them on April 26 with Misery Signals. That will be amazing. Unfortunately I have to wait like almost 2 months. O well, it will be so worth it.

And to Ventriloquist, The Human Abstract is kinda lame live. And even though The Chariot isn't the greatest music, they have a pretty fun live show. One of the most energetic shows I've seen.

MBS 03-06-2009 10:52 AM

you're going to chain? i'm going to the knitting factory

Ventriloquist 03-07-2009 04:55 PM

Just back from the PtH gig. I was trapped in there with 15 year olds and a bunch of emo kids. Apart from that PtH were really good, only **** up was in Sequoia Throne. However they just played like 50 minutes and left without an encore. The Chariot and The Human Abstract were terrible (esp. The Human Abstract...). Only good part was the guitarist of The Chariot throwing his guitar in the air, then failing to catch it.

Dimmu Burger 03-07-2009 04:58 PM

I'd like to see The Chariot. I heard they are really energetic. Ah well, I get to see them with Misery Signals, so I'm quite happy.

Ventriloquist 03-07-2009 05:06 PM

Yeah, they are energetic but that's about it. They use a lot of feedback sounds in their songs which gets annoying after a while.

Dimmu Burger 03-07-2009 06:08 PM

It's funny cause I was jamming with this new band and the guitarist kept feeding back and I kept thinking of the Chariot for some reason.

Moon Flavor 03-07-2009 06:39 PM

My friend said when he saw the Chariot like 4 years ago they had a guitarist for the strict purpose of feedback that didn't actually play guitar

Dimmu Burger 03-07-2009 06:43 PM

Doesn't surprise me.

Tyler 03-07-2009 08:02 PM
However they just played like 50 minutes and left without an encore.
They don't play encores. In over 40 shows, they've played maybe 10 encores, and most of those were in the early years. It's mostly Luke, he's avidly against them.

Did he say why?

DBlitz 03-07-2009 08:06 PM

huh, a friend told me he watched em recently (in germany?) and said the played all of fortress + divine suicide encore

Tyler 03-07-2009 08:12 PM

Well they still typically have been a band that doesn't play encores, Luke's reasoning has always been that he wants to leave fans wanting more. Also, not sure how your friend saw them play "all of Fortress" because as far as I've heard they still don't play Bone Marrow.

Ventriloquist 03-07-2009 08:17 PM

Just remembered, another thing happened today at the gig was that they stopped playing Palms Read after the first For a million years, raise your glass... part. And it's probably my fav. PtH song :/

Si1v3RfaNg 03-07-2009 08:28 PM

When is PTH releasing a live album :(

Xplisit 03-07-2009 10:47 PM

Palms Read really is quite the masterful track

The Feeding 03-07-2009 10:50 PM

The Feeding 03-08-2009 02:45 PM

the problem is the show was in Illinois, a 4 hour drive....i would have had to leave early one day and miss the next. I had just started like 2 weeks before or i totally would have!

Also you could request off as soon as the show is announced. That's what I try to do.
