Whats their best CD? I want to buy one.
Number of the Beast is great, Powerslave is too, Killers' a classic, it's hard to go wrong with Maiden.

If you're looking for a best of, go with Best Of The Beast

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-04-2004 01:06 AM
one thing that annoys me is jannick's little march-type thing he does live. don't know why, but that iritates the hell out of me.
haha, i like his "unnecessary stomp" he does on the Raising Hell video during "the clairvoyant" and "the trooper"...its fantatic lol.

ashman 10-04-2004 02:24 AM
Get Best of the Beast, its better. Wait, No buy Rock In Rio.
Riva 10-04-2004 03:15 AM

I've heard the Cradle Of Filth version of Fear Of The Dark... it isn't that good...

GurS 10-04-2004 04:02 AM

i know on kazaa there was a version of fear of the dark that said it was by cradle of filth.

it was the live in 93 version by maiden >_<

Grey Incision 10-04-2004 04:11 AM

Lord Abortion 10-04-2004 06:28 AM

come on ...
at least they added a different feel to hallowed be thy name
which is my favourite song of all time but they did a good job

ashman 10-04-2004 07:25 AM

Yeh, they did add a different feel, a feeling like testicles being pierced with a sharp pointy object.

But thats the only bad cover on Witchheart and Lovecraft.

hendrixisgod 10-04-2004 07:29 AM

The two best Maiden songs

The Trooper and The Number of the Beast

NickStahl33 10-04-2004 07:59 AM

ahh.. the all-mighty MAIDEN!

..arguably the best metal band since Sabbath started it all:

1) Black Sabbath
2) Iron Maiden
3) Metallica
4) Slayer

..pretty much the only metal bands that matter.

1) The Number of the Beast
2) Powerslave
3) Piece of Mind
4) Killers [tie]
4) Iron Maiden [tie]
- Seventh Son
- Somewhere.. screw the rest.

wicker man was a solid comeback, but check out maiden b-sides like cross-eyed mary.

GurS 10-04-2004 10:58 AM

total eclipse is still the best maiden b-side

or maybe reach out

ashman 10-04-2004 11:39 AM

I think most of the B-sides were good, few are rubbish.

I'm currently listenning to Doctor, Doctor lol

Thunder Fingers 10-04-2004 11:51 AM

Total Eclipse is an excellent song, glad it's on my version of NOTB.

DimebagDarrell 10-04-2004 11:53 AM

Also if any one has VOTB check out women in uniform and see if you can spot Leslie Ash ;)

HondoII 10-04-2004 12:54 PM

It was the first single...I think it was on the soundhouse tapes (methinks).

I never knew that was leslie ash, I'll just go and watch it. :naughty:

GurS 10-04-2004 01:55 PM

not quite, ash

it was on an EP called LIVE!! + One. It was released after the S/T and featured Dennis Straton. It had 3 songs from the S/T live, plus one new studio song, called "Women in Uniform".

I swear i answered this question last week

ashman 10-04-2004 02:01 PM

Ahh...Ok. well close enough lol. This thread is getting all crazy...

GurS 10-04-2004 02:48 PM

yeh, and sucky :( used to be better :upset:

ed hunter 10-04-2004 03:44 PM

is it possable to get hold of the origional demo tape that maiden made? cos surely it must have been copied?

GurS 10-04-2004 05:32 PM

the Soundhouse tapes? you can regulrarly get copies on ebay.... every so often, an original comes along. if you can prove it's original, it'll sell for about 4, maybe 5 hundred pounds (talking about ebay.co.uk)

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-04-2004 10:46 PM

^^^

ive seen them on there as well, as for e-bay items im mainly intrested in getting old tour tee shirts, concert posters, and dvd's :)

ashman 10-05-2004 03:22 AM
yeh, and sucky :( used to be better :upset:
I think its cool, answering n00bs to maidens questions, we are like the elders

When I was like 3, I used to have a SSOASS tour tee-shirt, it was so cool, but I didn't see them then.

I only just noticed this but Sanctuary isn't on the Original (none enhanced) version of Iron Maiden...Was a B-side at any point? or did they just include it on the album for the sake of it?

I can't wait til I get my new MP3 player 2nite, I'll be able to carry around with me every Iron Maiden album *drools*

GurS 10-05-2004 05:35 AM

Sactuary was never realised on the original iron maiden on this side of the pond... but in the US version, Sanctuary was released on the albm. Sanctuary was a single, after Running Free but before Women In Uniform... the single cover has eddie stabbing Margret Thatcher. FACT!

and i'm jealous ash :upset:

icebase 10-05-2004 05:49 AM
I love Dance of Death, first Maiden CD. I don't know much about the Maidens but they rule!!
man you need to go back to 1980 when the band started out man. like there has been what fourteen albums if not more DOD was just the latest in the line of maiden stunners there has been and that album count didn include any of the live concert cd's :thumb:
