Sometimes simplicity and a catchy tune are all you need to have great success.
Personally, I love AC/DC, not entirely sure why though. |
ok when i saw the stiff upper lip video i was laughing my *** off at brian screaming cause it looks like he is singing from the gut and looks like he's about to barf out his stomach and intestines. Even though i really love AC/DC it was just hard to watch but its his fault for screaming so dam much he's gonna lose his frieken voice. Anyways they kicked major rock n roll *** when they were younger just like anyone.

I love AC/DC! I think their best two albums are the two Mutt Lang produced, "Highway to Hell" & "Back in Black". My favorite AC/DC tune is "Touch Too Much" off the "Highway to Hell" cd. One thing I haven't read in this thread is anything about AC/DC's guitar tone. I think Angus and Malcolm have an amazing guitar tone, especially on the "Highway to Hell" album. Humbuckers plugged straight into cranked JTM45's. IMHO, it don't get no better than that tonewise! One other thing that has been important to the band's great success is how well the brothers coordinate their playing. They're like a well oiled rock machine on stage and in the studio!
|
Yes they do have a good tone. I personally prefer it when there is effects pedals used, not too much though otherwise you lose something then.
|
They are a well oiled machine in a sense and their coordination ability is instrumental in the powerful sound that, as simple as it is, cannot be reproduced
|
Which means what, in lamens terms?

Its not too hard to reproduce. Marshall Amp: Bass: 6 Mid: 9 Treble: 4.5 Gain: 3 Volume: Lots |

Marshall Amp: Bass: 6 Mid: 9 Treble: 4.5 Gain: 3 Volume: Lots[/QUOTE] Thanx, I've been trying to figure out their settings on my marshall and was close but I didn't jack the mids that high, but I did have the gain down low. Hells Bells sounds better with more distortion though IMO. |
It does, but not the intro. If you play the intro with lots of distortion its one big noise and sounds incoherent. Oh also one more thing for any AC/DC song use the bridge pickup.
|
woot AD/DC much past their prime but still the shiz. I'd have to say fave song is For Those About To Rock. Angus is the best stage presence ever!! Even if he does keep it a bit simple.
Oh and for anyone who has the Family Jewels DVD, who is that bald drummer who has a facial expression like he's about to turn into the incredible hulk when he's playin. He plays in some of the songs near the end of the DVD, like in the Thunderstruck clip. |
AD/DC? haha reminds me of that radio call. The drummer is Chris Slade, he only drummed for The Razors Edge album and AC/DC live.
|
ahh righto thx for that. and what radio call
|
It's hilarious, your typo just reminded me of it, ill upload it soon. Just remember it IS real.
|
lol i always say it like that :p

ac/dc rock they have got killer rifs and solo's and i agree with highvoltgerocknroll about listening to thunderstruck, moneytalks etc... they dont sound the same. but i must admit they're new album stiff upper lip does have two songs that sound the same satellite blues and give it up they are the same intro's only they changed it a bit. which is a dissapontment but there old stuf is better eg back in black , you shook me all night long, hells bells they all sound different but still they are a rocking band!
|
Dear Christ do they suck.
|
AC/DC was the single band that got me to love rock. Most of their songs are relatively simple but still are very catchy and get you singin along. Both Angus and Malcom are great guitarist and make the most catchy riffs I know. No one in their right mind can say that they had no talent when Bon Scott was alive and in. Yet I do agree that most the songs after Back in Black are pretty repetetive and sometimes boring. Still it sure beats the sh*t that artists shove down your throat now a days. And for the haters, go watch your MTV :)

Whoah, four n00bs posting in a row. Why did Elnimio come into this thread if he hates AC/DC so much?

And might I say, what an amazing post of yours. |

Isn't going into a band's official thread and stating they suck or something a bannable offense? Either way, AC/DC > You |

ummm your an idiot Back in black isn't early stuff powerage, high voltage ect... is |
hey man give him a break its early-ish, as in late 80s
and back in black is by far the best im soo disappointed with the crap they're pumpin out atm |
There newy should be good. Also what I mean about the teeny idol thing was that Whole Lotta Rosie is about some fat chick Bon did as a dare one night. So Whole Lotta Tenny Idols would be about Bon doing teeny idols.
|
ahh right i didn't know that lol
i'll be impressed when you write me some lyrics :D |
