they probably wont play anything from that EP but thats ok its still good
This is true; although it can't hurt to hope they'll play a little version of Pony Up! just for me. It's such a good EP. I can just play it over and over on repeat and not get bored. |
Is that your first time listening to it?
Best 90's Sonic Youth.
I've had a real difficult time getting into it, but it seems like it'll grow on me. I've also been digging Talking Heads- Fear of Music and Do Make Say Think's newest. |
I loved it the first time I listened to it, some of the tracks are kinda hard to digest but in the end, it's worth getting into.
|
Is that your first time listening to it?
Nah, that was the second Sonic Youth album I ever heard. First time I've listened to it in a while though. I think I agree with you regarding it being the best 90s SY, as well. Lee's songs on Washing Machine are so good, and of course, The Diamond Sea! |
Nick Drake - Pink Moon
always an awesome listen. |
Unwound- Repetition
is there anyone who thought i WOULDN'T like this band once i finally got around to hearing them? |
Washing Machine is in my top 5 SY albums for sure.
Ash Ra Tempel - Ash Ra Tempel Curtis Mayfield - Curtis Curtis makes me want to fight for social injustices, and ART makes me wanna go eat people. |

Glad to hear the Washing Machine love. I always felt like that one didn't get enough respect or general praise.

so far i like Lady Elect the best. i also like how the singer sounds kinda like one of the Sonic Youth guys. do they really only have one guitarist? do they just do a lot of overdubs?
|

Rolo Tomassi - Rolo Tomassi EP
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=73VMLB35 2006 release from a bunch of 18/19 year olds from the UK. One of the most unique releases I've heard in ages. The sound is pretty intense...like pretty heavy screamo sections interspersed with awesome electro bits, ambient noodling and some awesome guitar bits. Apparently I really suck at describing this, but check it out if you think there's a chance you might dig this sort of thing. Saw them live last night and they were intense, can't wait for the full album. |
Xiu Xiu- Knife Play
I have a love/hate relationship with this band. |
Brian Eno - Another Green World

Depreciation Guild
http://www.inhergentlejaws.com/ its a legal free ****ing album. Thats actually quite good (especially on headphones, btw) You've really got no reason to not download it. Kinda reminiscent of M83 to my ears, but far less dramatic. I think pitchfork used the term nu-gaze, but that term is ****ing bullshit. |
Lemonheads posse! Current members: 3
