i'm off out for a bit, later guys

PinkFreud 04-13-2006 09:59 AM

Yep. Just sitting in class. Not much happening.

I want a band. :(

kurrpt 04-13-2006 10:00 AM

i do want a band...

but after dealing with numerous arseholes, ego-maniacs, and people that THINK they are good...

ive decided i will just get ridiculously good in my guitar room, and make my own band in a year or 2

I gave up and started doing things on my own; that's when this band fell into my lap.

Jev 04-13-2006 10:24 AM

My band's basically me writing stuff and telling them what to play anyway.
They're kinda like hired musicians who work for free.

Deth 04-13-2006 10:30 AM

I can't find a decent metal guitarist to save my life.

Jev 04-13-2006 10:38 AM

Me neither, that's why I attempt to be one.

Kingofdudes 04-13-2006 10:43 AM

Sunburns are a bitch :-/

While in New Orleans I picked up a few CDs
Barenaked Ladies - Gordon
Tangerine Dream - Phaedra
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Californication
The Clash - London Calling
Johnny Cash - Live at San Quentin
The Talking Heads - Remain in the Light
Matisyahu - Live at Stubbs

/cd whoring
I almost bought the new Devin Townsend album, but I couldnt bring myself to spend $19 on a cd.

Jev 04-13-2006 10:47 AM

I need to buy Californication too.

But £19 is rediculous, it's been out for years.

Kingofdudes 04-13-2006 10:50 AM

I think I got my copy for $7.99

You need to check it out its so much funnier than The Daily Show IMO.

Mazeppa 04-13-2006 01:00 PM
I really need more classical. Perhaps I could get suggestions from those in the know? I've dabbled in Bach and Mozart, but it's the really dramatic, more contemporary stuff with the complex harmonies and stuff like this that catches my fancy.
I don't have much contemporary classical, just some Stravinsky. I also have a piece by Beethoven which is actually very complex and dissonant. It's a late string quartet of his, people hated it at the time of composition. Anyway if you're interested I can upload it for you. (Little late, but I feel I should pick up on these things)

NP:Beethoven - Grosse Fugue (the piece in question)
