You didn't exactly have the hardest group ever.

Wait, so you mean Panama isn't a world power? ;)
There is a man on the 78th day of his hunger strike at the McDonalds near my house.

Just felt like sharing that.

Thats a long time not to eat.

Shadows 09-07-2005 04:58 PM

Especially when you're outside being forced to smell McDonalds 24/7. I would cave.

You can't survive without food for four days at the most.

Neurotoxin 09-07-2005 05:04 PM

Water and salt.

Food strikes happen all of the time. Recently a group of strikers died after striking for over 50 days.

Shadows 09-07-2005 05:05 PM

Then this guy should be dying any day now.

Neurotoxin 09-07-2005 05:08 PM

Unfortunately, yes.

The majority of the most recent dead lasted about 61 days. This guy is at 78 today. However, for the first 10 days he consumed orange juice (for potassium).

ATM 09-07-2005 05:13 PM

I'm going to start planning my trip to Germany for the World Cup very soon.

If he was smart he'd keep a large stash of vitamins on him at all times. That we he'll have no energy at all but still have needed nutrients.

Woo! Fight the power by not eating!

Seriously, I'm all for protest of any form and figthing corporations, but some forms of protest seem so useless to me. Does he actually think he's going to influence or change anything by doing that? He'd be better off bombing their supply depots. Doesn't hurt anyone but still sends a message.

Arrakakaka 09-07-2005 06:31 PM

NOOO! All the YSI threads are gone

All the piracy sites I used have been shut down? Now what to do? I want In Absentia from Porcupine Tree, and I will get it for free.

Shadows 09-07-2005 06:35 PM

What piracy sites? And why have all the YSI threads gone?

Arrakakaka 09-07-2005 06:37 PM

Downloaddungeon.com for one, and a few others.

It's gone because of some good-hearted fellow was going to report us to YSI.

Permanent Solution 09-07-2005 06:37 PM
What piracy sites? And why have all the YSI threads gone?
Jeremy closed them. Find someone who has the album you want and have them IM it to you.

Arrakakaka 09-07-2005 06:38 PM

The name of the jerkoff who got them closed is;

BassTone

Shadows 09-07-2005 06:39 PM

I never used them so it doesn't bother me.

One of our own users was going to report us? I've never even heard of BassTone - is he a n00b? It's almost like a stab in the back when it's one of MX's own users.

Kurtz 09-07-2005 06:41 PM

No, he was just doing it to make us aware.

Shadows 09-07-2005 06:46 PM

I checked up his posts. It seems like he threatened to report the bass YSI thread for no apparent reason. But it also seems like the mods were thinking of closing them anyway since so much music was being illegally sent.

superpeer 09-07-2005 06:46 PM

I hardly ever downloaded full albums anyway, I'm not that upset. Go out and buy cd's. Fags. I used the YSI threads for separate songs.

Lord Abortion 09-07-2005 06:49 PM

Bang goes my rep-whoring in there...:p

anyway, bedtime...

Kurtz 09-07-2005 06:50 PM

I never went into that thread in the first place, and if I ever needed a separate song or a sample of a song or a band, I would just ask a friend for a download or go to slsk. I never download full albums.

Shadows 09-07-2005 06:51 PM

I buy and download. For me, downloading is a way to sample music. If I like it, I'll buy it, unless it's some incredibly obscure black metal or something. Without downloading I don't think I'd ever have found out about all the bands I love.

superpeer 09-07-2005 06:52 PM

Yeah, obviously, but if I sample, I don't download the full album, it kinda ruins the fun of listening to it when you buy it. I check out some songs, if I like it, I go and buy it.

Permanent Solution 09-07-2005 06:54 PM

I download about half and buy about half, but I buy at a sickening rate. Most the stuff I don't buy I can't find at the local shops.

Shadows 09-07-2005 06:57 PM
I download about half and buy about half, but I buy at a sickening rate. Most the stuff I don't buy I can't find at the local shops.
My stuff too, which is why I've taken to ordering off the internet. Unfortunately, my parents aren't too crazy about me putting so much stuff on their credit card, so my music buying is cut to a minimum. But next chance I get I'm buying the new Between the Buried and Me, Opeth, and Children of Bodom.
I download about half and buy about half, but I buy at a sickening rate. Most the stuff I don't buy I can't find at the local shops.
Same...if I find something I want that I can buy, or I really want to support the artist, I will buy it.

Downloading is for sampling, or if I'm strapped for cahs (which i usually am, for buying so much music. :p )

Are we still gonna be able to upload stuff for Featured Artists/Genres/Series and whatnot, or is uploading gonna be strictly banned?

superpeer 09-07-2005 07:00 PM

I must say there are quite a few CD stores in my city, I've roamed everywhere and I think I've found at least 10. There's also a metal CD store in some village, but it's an hour away, sometimes I go there though, it has a lot of stuff.

Neurotoxin 09-07-2005 07:07 PM

So I take it I can't continue on with my thread?

Oh well...
So I take it I can't continue on with my thread?

I don't think there's anything against your thread, since it's your initiative and it's not a general thread supporting illegal uploads like the YSI thread.

Shadows 09-07-2005 07:11 PM
So I take it I can't continue on with my thread?

Uploads altogether have been outlawed?

So is a mod going to post an anouncement or something so people don't continue uploading or try to make a new YSI thread?

Neurotoxin 09-07-2005 07:12 PM

I see your point Superpeer.

superpeer 09-07-2005 07:15 PM

I'm not sure about all of this, so don't take my word for it, I'm just posting what I think is logical, I'll keep you guys notified.
