That white splash is _so_ ugly...
hmm, I thought the white one was the only UN-ugly one....

but it looks like it would sound like poop. almost looks like it's a heavy layer of semi-gloss paint on it or something....but it's hard to tell.
Does anyone know the Paiste model Joey Jordison used to use?

I know they were something weird but I cant remember what. Im talking about his old white cymbals by the way.
The white cymbals were rudes as well.

White rudes look nowhere near as cool as normal ones

Plan B. 03-27-2006 03:18 PM

No guys it's not restricting to the sound, it sounds good.

I want a hot pink ride.

For sure, I wouldn't want a white cymbal in generally though, looks kinda silly, haha.

Jezen 03-27-2006 03:28 PM

Hey Plan B, what about a hot pink cha-cha bell?

Janeway 03-27-2006 03:37 PM

I always hear people talk about how good it feels after exercising...
I spent 40 minutes on an elyptical for a gym makeup, and I just feel normal.
And very sick.
My eyes hurt and my nostrils are raw.

Plan B. 03-27-2006 03:39 PM

Now you're talkin'!

I'd love to just have a rack of wild coloured percussive instruments.

You could pick according to your mood, you could do a slow blue groove, or like a supa fast red blazing groove.

well i may be buying a new drumset today. going to get my grad pics (my mom guilted me into finally getting some) and then going stick shopping, possibly cymbal shopping, and i'm going to check if they have my wonderful gretsch catalina in stock still. if the price is right, i could be walking home with a new drumset today. yay. go me.

SkaRabbit 03-27-2006 04:37 PM

Thats quite cool BB. congradulations.

Drum Phil 03-27-2006 04:43 PM

Does anyone have the MP3 metronome that was posted on here a while back? The copy that was up for download is corrupt and i need it

fishbulb' 03-27-2006 05:16 PM

Oh my god, 6 ghz? That's so fast.

Oh yeah, when you say you can play double bass for 120 bpm, all you do is hit the bass drum 120 times in a minute right? That comes out to twice a second, that is really fricken slow.

Drum Phil 03-27-2006 05:16 PM

This machine does 3.01Ghz apparently

Futuro 03-27-2006 05:21 PM

I crack too many cymbals :upset:

No. You measure single strokes in 32nd notes.

SkaRabbit 03-27-2006 05:24 PM

120bpm in 4ths would be 4 between every hit right? which in singles would be 480 bpm mean 8 hits a second??

im not to wise at how this works. i just tend to play what i think.

Jezen 03-27-2006 05:27 PM

^^^^
..................Yeah.

Drum Phil 03-27-2006 05:28 PM

Yeah man, im the same. I had to get jezen to explain to me why 160BPM sounded so slow.

fishbulb' 03-27-2006 05:28 PM

Ahh, it depends on what type of notes they are.

So if they're quarter notes you multiply it by ... four... ?

TTTSNB 03-27-2006 05:29 PM
No. You measure single strokes in 32nd notes.
Dunno, generally when I hear "double bass at 120", they mean 16ths.

TTTSNB 03-27-2006 05:32 PM
I crack too many cymbals :upset:
Sucks man, I used to have that problem. Do you hit your cymbals with a fairly glancing blow?

Drum Phil 03-27-2006 05:34 PM

I use the pull-back technique and have never cracked a cymbal

fishbulb' 03-27-2006 05:36 PM

Glancing blow just doesn't feel natural to me.

Futuro 03-27-2006 05:37 PM
Sucks man, I used to have that problem. Do you hit your cymbals with a fairly glancing blow?
I think so. I don't go through it....I think...

But this is the second cymbal I cracked :upset: It aint under warentee either like My power crash was.

fishbulb' 03-27-2006 05:38 PM

As long as you don't lay into them or hit through the cymbal you should be fine.

Jezen 03-27-2006 05:48 PM
Dunno, generally when I hear "double bass at 120", they mean 16ths.
It's the difference between a buzz roll and a multiple bounce roll. We all know what they are, but one is officially correct.

According to PAS, single strokes are measured in 32nds.

poppinfresh 03-27-2006 06:17 PM

man blondies drummer is pretty crazy. I got it for the musical content but i think i might want to drum to a few.

SkaRabbit 03-27-2006 06:19 PM

Wait 120 bpm would be a click every half a second? how would you get 16 beats in between each?

Edit: i feel so nooby now

Futuro 03-27-2006 06:34 PM

16 beats in 4 clicks.

Unless your talking 32nds, than it self explanatory.

TTTSNB 03-27-2006 06:55 PM

Yeah, I guess so, although sometimes I kinda resent the PAS, since they consider themselves the supreme authority on every in drumming, not even recognizing most rudiments.
