I think metallica may make another album like St. Anger. I honestly think that would be cool cuz id like to see what other grungey drop c riffs they can come up with. I honestly dont want them to come up with another album like MOP or AJFA becuz they went down that path for 10 years and they hav done it already. I say that they should become new and inventive and continue creating and make nu metal an actually decent type of music

St. Anger wasn't even close to Nu-metal...
It was a new breed of thrash. Also: Nu-metal is more than just decent music already... |

Not the most briliant thing to say on his part but i want them to be new and inventive.........except as a lead guitarist they HAVE to put the solos back in atleast 2 or 3 songs instead of none |

I agree with the solos thing. But that being a new breed of thrash, no. Maybe a new breed of Heavier dropped metal metal, but it's not thrash and doesn't fit into extreme. So it can go under unique wave of heavy metal, or something. |

I hate when people say st. anger is nu-metal. They don't even know the definition of new metal and they classify any music they dislike as nu-metal. I think st. anger is also kinda like speed/thrash fused together. |
What question is this? let's see...
I hear all the way up except the mid is all the way off. also i agree with the guy about recording, do light distortion and clone/copy a lot for the real trashy sound
Just wanna know the correct fingering for Seek & Destroy solo :p In the mean time, I have been working on Ride The Lightning... How can you say Burton just follows the guitar? :x This song would(n't) work without the bass.. Ok, but wouldn't be as good :p Edit:
I think st. anger is also kinda like speed/thrash fused together.
Definately, it has better, faster riffs then anything since Black album (Maybe I'm missing something.. I know Black album has a few fast song, Through The Never for example) it was just the tuning and drum sound which threw it out a bit. Maybe I'm the only one, but I believe that St. Anger was actually closer to their original sound (Ok, the sound they 'defined' i.e. Ride The Lightning, Master of Puppets, and a bit of ...AJFA, but that's really in its own league) then either of their previous 3 releases (Not including Live albums or Cover albums, obviously)... |
What the ****ing Hell!!!! who did a god **** mother ****ing hip hop tribute to Metallica? Tell me so I can assassinate them!
Well it does not nessasarilly mean the album sounds hip-Hop, it means that the bands covering metallica are hip-Hop bands... |
Do hip-hop people even go around in bands.
|
Do hip-hop people even go around in bands.
Ignore this question :p |
Do hip-hop people even go around in bands.
well, many hip-hop people like rock-metal bands, The beastie Boys, Cypress Hill and Body Count(Rap-metal)are good examples. ups, sorry Chu. |
no guitar solos.....that was the biggest dissapointment, but i still enjoyed it.
My Friend went and saw them when they came to Sydney last Year. He said the did 4 songs off St Anger, Fuel and the rest was from the Black album back. He also said that the songs off St Anger had solo's added to them. Maybe thats an indication that they wern't pleased with not putting solo's on the record and will do it for the up - coming album. I don't know  |
That was Lars who said no solos on album. Then he saw how big a mistake that was apparently.
|
Yeah there was an arguement on skom between he and Kirk wasen't there?
|
Yeah there was an arguement on skom between he and Kirk wasen't there?
From what I understood from the movie, there was an argument between Kirk and Lars throughout the whole album because Lars wanted no solos on any songs because solos are "classic" |
Solos make songs classic, in a good way.
|
Oh dear lord, i thought we settled the constant crying over no solo's a long time ago! :smash:
|
Obviously, everyone that came to an agreement, is not present.
|
Does anyone know of a poem that would match the lyrics of fade to black...suicide from loss etc? It would be great to get a response.
|
Do any members of Metallica train martial arts?
|
Don't they play some of the St. Anger songs with solos live anyway?
Mathias: wtf why? :p |
i liked metallica's older stuff better than there new (who doesn't?), but my favorite song out of all would be master of puppets.
i like how it goes from there normal stuff in that song, to nice and soft and slow, then to unique solo's i also like enter sandman, its a preety well balanced song. lets try to keep this thread alive
Mosyt people do...pppft who likes st.anger? still an aweomse band though. would be even better if theyt didn't sell out. Wwell, with that out of the way , I definitely like hte stuff from Metallica's thrash era...aka Kill Em all, Ride the lightening, and puuppets. |
Mosyt people do...pppft who likes st.anger?
I do..kind of :p some songs are quite good, the others not so good..the production lets it down big time IMO |

It'd be great if that was kept out of the thread. It will just start arguments about 50-100 pages long. |
